Three officers suspended after unapproved Justin Bieber police escort

Florida probably wishes Justin Bieber had stayed away this week, after publicity of his arrest on DUI and drag racing charges. One other niggling little FUBAR was what happened when the pop superstar arrived: An unapproved police escort that has resulted in officer suspensions, TMZ reported on Friday.

While three officers have already been suspending -- without pay -- the Opa-Locka Police Department is continuing its internal investigation into the matter. We earlier posted video of two police cruisers bracketing Justin Bieber's SUV and another car as they left the airport and headed for a strip club..

The three officers have been suspended, but with pay. The City Manager said he had no idea how the police escort was arranged.

Either way, the police chief has confirmed that the escort was unapproved.
