'There Goes Honey Boo Boo,' into the hospital after serious auto accident

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," nearly into the hospital. Variety reported on Tuesday that five out of the six members of the "Honey Boo Boo" family were involved in a serious car wreck on Monday night.

The family Alana Thompson ("Honey Boo Boo"), Mama June Shannon, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon, and father and driver Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson were in a car when it was blindsided by an oncoming truck that ran a red light. Only Anna Shannon was missing from the car.

No one was seriously hurt.

According to sources, the car was at a red light, waiting to turn left. After the light turned green, Mike Thompson began the turn. At that point, a person driving a truck -- who was allegedly speeding, as well -- ran the red light, crashing into the family.

Members of the family were taken by ambulance to a local hospital in McIntyre, Ga. According to a report, Mike Thompson has a contusion on his back, Mama June has back injuries of an unspecified nature, "Honey Boo Boo" herself has a headache, while Lauryn has severe chest bruises.

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," for those unaware, is a controversial reality TV show about a self-proclaimed "redneck" family and their "Toddlers and Tiaras" daughter.  The show is mostly filmed in and around the family's hometown in rural McIntyre, Georgia, United States, a town in Middle Georgia east of Macon, and premiered on Aug. 8, 2012 for its first season.
Ironically, The Hollywood Reporter criticized the show and called it a "car crash."  Wikipedia says:
"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is a car crash, and everybody rubber-necks at a car crash, right? It's human nature. Yes, except that if you play that card, you also have to realize that human nature comes with the capacity to draw a line, to hold fast against the dehumanization and incremental tearing down of the social fabric, even if this never-ending onslaught of reality television suggests that's a losing effort.
The third season of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” premieres on Jan. 16.
