Ben Affleck casting as 'Batman' applauded by former Caped Crusader Michael Keaton

The announcement that Ben Affleck is to don the cape and cowl of Batman in multiple appearances has the Internet in an uproar, with more than one petition asking -- nay, demanding -- that Warner Bros. reverse the decision. Affleck isn't the first Batman actor to be hammered over miscasting, though, and on Wednesday night, one such Batman spoke to TMZ: Michael Keaton.

Longtime Batman fans can remember a similar uproar over Keaton's casting in the 1989 "Batman" film, which co-starred Jack Nicholson. Despite the furor, there's no doubt that Keaton's portrayal of Bruce Wayne / Batman set the standard for years to come.

TMZ caught up with Keaon as he as leaving Toscana in Brentwood Wednesday night. In the embedded video, Keaton can be seen saying "He's gonna be great," then repeating, "He's gonna be great."

The still untitled Batman / Superman movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015. Not much more is known about it aside from that, although it is rumored that "Breaking Bad's" Bryan Cranston has been signed to portray Superman's arch enemy, Lex Luthor.

No more driving for Justin Bieber, until he gets a California driver's license

Some residents of the Calabasas, Calif., community where Justin Bieber lives might be saying "finally" after a Wednesday TMZ report. It turns out that Bieber does not have a valid California driver's license, something that new residents of the Golden State are required to obtain within 10 days of establishing permanent California residence.

It all began when police saw Bieber's white Ferrari fail to halt at a stop sign near his Calabasas home at around 4:30 a.m. PDT Wednesday morning. As they processed the citation, police noticed that Bieber did not have a valid California driver's license.

Law enforcement sources said the pop superstar was cited for both running the stop sign and for driving without a valid California license. He was forced to get out of the driver's seat -- at least until he was well out of sight of the police, right -- and his passenger was made to drive the car home.

We now have to wonder if Bieber will try to execute "celebrity privilege" and storm a DMV office sans an appointment, hoping to use his status to get his license earlier than if he had to either make an appointment or stand in line.

Residents of Bieber's Calabasas gated community, where he has lived since the end of June, have been up in arms at his driving behavior -- as well as that of his BFFs -- within the realm of the community.

Kate Gosselin sues ex- Jon over hacking, theft for e-book

The NSA isn't the only one hacking into people's private lives, according to a lawsuit filed by former reality TV star Kate Gosselin on Monday. The New York Daily News reported on the filing.

The 18-page lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania on Monday, said the following:
After the couple was separated, Jon illegally hacked into Kate’s email account and her phone and bank accounts.

Jon also stole a hard drive from Kate’s house, which contained private and confidential material. Jon the gave them the contents of Kate’s email account and the hard drive, all of which were acquired illegally, to his friend and business partner, tabloid reporter Robert Hoffman.

Hoffman used the illegally acquired data to publish a defamatory book about Kate.
Hoffman’s e-book, “Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World,” included several unflattering bits of information about Kate.

The e-book was eventually removed from many retail sites, but the filing claims “the damage was done.” The lawsuit asks for unspecified damages as well as legal costs.

The Gosselins divorced in 2009. While an attempt was made to keep their "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" franchise going by switching to a "Kate Plus Eight" title, that series fizzled, and the TLC series was abruptly cancelled.

Gone viral: Miley Cyrus video twerking with Robin Thicke and the Will Smith family reaction

It seems we can't take Miley Cyrus out any longer without something controversial happening. Not only did video of Cyrus twerking Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs on Sunday go viral (embedded), so did the reaction (as noted in the video an by The Daily Mail) of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and their kids Jaden and Willow.

Cyrus first performed her own song, "We Can't stop," to much twerking and tonguing. At one point in the song, MTV bleeped the word "molly," which -- when the song came out -- was criticized as it stands for MDMA or (ecstacy).

That was enough, but later, during Robin Thicke's performance on his song "Blurred Lines," Cyrus reappeared, in nude-colored underwear and leaving virtually nothing to the imagination in a close-to-adult-film rated performance.

In addition to twerking, Cyrus repeatedly grabbed at Thicke's crotch while wearing a giant foam finger. She also used that finger for other purposes, sticking it out from between her legs to simulate you-know-what.

The image of the Smith clan amazed at Cyrus performance was just one of the things to hit social media, as disapproval began sweeping the Internet.

Country star Josh Gracin tweeted: "Thanks Miley Cyrus. Now I have to explain to my 11 yr old daughter why she no longer can follow your career."

Actress Minnie Driver tweeted, "Miley Cyrus needs an early night.”

That, of course, did not happen.

Bryan Cranston cast as Lex Luthor, joins Ben Affleck in 'Man of Steel' sequel

Based on his role on "Malcolm in the Middle," you might think that Bryan Cranston might be a strange choice to be Lex Luthor in the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel. Take a look at him as Walter White in "Breaking Bad," though, and you might feel he is the perfect choice. reported the news on Monday.

The deal is reportedly set to span at least six appearances. According to the report, the agreement spans at least six appearances and perhaps as many as 10. That number would mean that not only will Cranston be Henry Cavill (Superman's) foil in "Man of Steel" films, he may (will probably?) be involved in any "Justice League" films.

There is no official announcement as yet. That is expected to be made after the conclusion of this season -- the final one -- of "Breaking Bad."

The news comes hot on the heels of the official announcement that Ben Affleck will appear as Bruce Wayne / Batman in the "Man of Steel" sequel, which has brought jeers from fans who may recall his turn as Marvel Comics' "Daredevil." Production on the still-untitled "Man of Steel" sequel is expected to begin in 2014, with a release on July 17, 2015.

Affleck is 41, Cavill 30, which sets up well for a potential learning experience for the relatively newly minted Superman -- vs. the experienced, older Batman.

Mark Strong has also been mentioned as a potential Lex Luthor, but he had a strike against him: He was already known as Sinestro from the disappointing "Green Lantern" film. It's possible, the report said, that he could play that role again, likely in the "Justice League" film, or perhaps in a "Green Lantern" sequel -- or even in the "Man of Steel" sequel, itself.

'Prison Break' actor Wentworth Miller comes out as he rebuffs Russian invitation

Former "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller probably wouldn't have received the invitation if his sexual orientation was known, but it is now. On Thursday, TMZ reported that the actor / screenwriter came out as he rebuffed an invitation to the St. Petersburg International Film Festival.

In his letter, which was addressed to the film festival's director, Maria Averbach, Miller, 41, wrote:
As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as I gay man, I must decline.

I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly.

Perhaps, when and if circumstances improve, I'll be free to make a different choice. Until then.

Wentworth Miller.
The letter was cross-posted on the website of GLAAD, which monitors media representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and issues.

Russia has been cracking down on the LGBT community, of late. In 2012, a law was passed banning gay pride events in Moscow for the next 100 years. In June a bill classified "homosexual propaganda" as pornography, including fines and arrests for any making such "propaganda" accessible to minors.

In July, Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, signed into law a bill banning the adoption of Russian-born children by gay couples.

WWE star Darren Young comes out of the closet

WWE wrestler Darren Young has just come out as gay, in a video interview published on Thursday by TMZ. The interview is embedded below.

Young was at LAX on Wednesday when TMZ asked him whether he felt a gay wrestler could succeed in WWE. The site probablyt did not expect the response it received.

Young, laughing, said:
Absolutely. Look at me. I'm a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay. And I'm happy. I'm very happy.
This makes Young the first openly gay WWE wrestler. He is also the first headlining wrestler ever to come out while still signed to a major promotion.

Other professional wrestlers have been rumored to be gay, but those were never confirmed. In this case, assuming this is not a stunt -- considering pro wrestling, there's that suspicion -- these are no longer rumors. According to the site, this is not "part of the act."

The WWE released a statement showing its support for Darren Young, on the same day as his interview was published. The organization said:
On TMZ this morning, WWE Superstar Darren Young (Fred Rosser) revealed to the WWE Universe that he is gay. WWE is proud of Darren Young for being open about his sexuality, and we will continue to support him as a WWE Superstar. Today, in fact, Darren will be participating in one of our Be A STAR anti-bullying rallies in Los Angeles to teach children how to create positive environments for everyone regardless of age, race, religion or sexual orientation.
Fredrick Douglas "Fred" Rosser is 29 and currently signed to the WWE under the ring name Darren Young.

Paulina Gretzky shares racy snaps, cute childhood photos with dad

She's back on the Internet. Who needs to post images to Twitter, though; this time, she's posting racy images and more to photo-sharing site Instagram, the Daily Mail reported on Wednesday.

Paulina Gretzky first became the object of attention of the male side a name for herself back in 2011 when she posted a series of revealing pictures on her Twitter account, including images showing her lounging next to the pool in a bikini or lying on a bed in her underwear. As the daughter of "The Great One," Wayne Gretzky, the Internet and hockey fans both applauded and roiled in turmoil.

However, she was (forced?) to delete her account after receiving a what appeared to be -- based on a tweet -- a scolding from her famous father. Just prior to deleting the account, she tweeted:
Having a nice sit down dinner with my dad about social media..haha
She has since returned to Twitter, with her current following sitting at around 270,000.

Aside from her racy photos, though, she has posted some cute family photos, including one of her as a toddler nuzzling her father. That photo shows her planting a kiss on her dad's cheek, captioned with
Every Little Girls First Love.. Their Dad.
24-years-old, Paulina Gretzky is the daughter of 52-year-old father Wayne Gretzky, who is one of the most famous Canadian of all time, having led the Edmonton Oilers to Stanley Cup titles in the 1980s.

A slideshow of her latest images can be found here.

Prince George's first informal photos to be posted to Twitter

The Royal Baby is coming, or at least, the first informal pictures of Prince George are. And Kate and Prince William, who are definitely into social media, will release the images via Twitter, according to a Monday report in the U.K.-based blog Female First (via MSN).

The couple has used Twitter before to spread information about their son. For example, just hours after leaving the hospital, they released the prince's official name via the Clarence House Twitter account.

One source close to the couple said,
The whole point of these photos is that as many people have access to them who need to and we will find the easiest way of doing that.
Just who is behind the camera lens, though, isn't clear. People says that it's possible that new mom Kate could be the snapper, in a set of images taken by Kate and her parents during the couple's stay at the Middletons' home in Bucklebury.

The Daily Mirror, though, says that the images will have been taken by new aunt Pippa Middleton and the royal grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

Kate is apparently picking out the best images herself. One source said:
Kate has a great eye for pictures and wants the first official ones of George to be natural and in a relaxed environment.
In terms of timing and when folks need to be refreshing the Clarence House Twitter account rapidly, reports say that the tweet or tweets should arrive early next week.

Justin Bieber serenades his grandmother, shows off his jewels

It's no secret that Justin Bieber likes to show off his ripped -- though skinny -- physique. That includes his grandmother, apparently, and in this case -- as reported on Monday -- he showed grandma everything.

TMZ published a couple of pictures of the incident. The festivities occurred on the morning of Thanksgiving Day, last year. The pop superstar slept in, and finally woke up after he heard his family and friends moving around the house.

To be clear, Bieber is Canadian, and it was Canada's Thanksgiving Day. As opposed to the fourth Thursday of November, that holiday is celebrated on the second Monday in October.

Bieber went right up to his grandmother, and with his jewels hidden only by a guitar, began singing impromptu lyrics such as: "I Loooove you grandmaaaa ... how are youuuu ... helloooo grandma."

Certainly, the lyrics weren't as good as on his smash hit, "Baby."

The safe for work and somewhat not safe for work images are linked.

Indeed, since watching NFL football isn't a primary focus of the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday, they had to watch some different balls last year.

On-set 'Transformers 4' video shows off the 'destruction' of Detroit

It's no secret that Detroit has been turned into China for "Transformers 4." What remains a secret is who will clean up the city after all the filming is done. A new on-set video posted on YouTube on Wednesday shows off Bumblebee and a lot of destruction.

The film is expected to pick up some four years after the conclusion of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" (or "Transformers 3"). Its synopsis is:
In "Transformers 4," Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control -- all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his cross-hairs.

The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.
No exact date has been announced as to when "Transformers 4" filming will begin.

The still-untitled film is scheduled for a June 27, 2014 release. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor. Wahlberg will not be playing the Sam Witwicky role previously played by Shia LaBeouf, Bay announced earlier, but will instead be playing Flynn "Ray" Vincent.

According to Wikipedia, the three leads have been signed for a trio of films.

Also confirmed: Peter Cullen, the iconic voice of Optimus Prime, will reprise that role.

Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay and Steve Jablonsky will score the film. Michael Bay, of course, directs.

Lady Gaga goes fully nude in video promoting MAI Kickstarter project (Video)

Lady Gaga has gone nude, totally nude, but it's all in the name of art. The singer did so as part of a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the Marina Abramovic Institute, it was revealed -- with nothing left to the imagination -- on Thursday.

The video, embedded below, shows Gaga on a "three-day retreat in upstate New York" with performance artist Marina Abramovic where she practices "a series of exercises designed to heighten participants' awareness of their physical and mental experience in the present moment."

"The Abramovic Method," as the video is dubbed, supposedly heightens physical and mental awareness.

MAI's website says that its purpose is the following:
The institute will focus on the study, preservation, and presentation of long durational performance including dance, theater, film, video, performance art, and music as well as new forms that may develop in the future. The institute will pursue an active role in contemporary culture by forging productive unions between art, science, technology, spirituality, and education.

Spencer Clawson jokes about child porn on 'Big Brother,' attracts police attention

The words "the camera is on" seems to be something that "Big Brother" contestants seem to have trouble remembering. On Wednesday, TMZ reported that a member of the current "Big Brother" cast is under investigation after joking about child porn -- not a humorous subject -- on air.

The incident can be seen in a clip from this week's episode (embedded). In it, Spencer Clawson grabbed the microphone fellow houseguest McCrae Olson was wearing. While pretending to be Olson, Clawson riffs about child porn, saying,
I like to beat off to child porn. Did I ever tell y'all about that? I love it. Beating off to child porn is my favorite thing there is. I love it when they're around three or four years old. My favorite ones are when you can tell they're in a basement.
Clawson was speaking with Andy Herren and Amanda Zuckerman. Both looked uncomfortable, and Andy Herren eventually said, "Oh God" before changing the subject.

Spencer Clawson's hometown police in Arkansas took note, whether tipped off or by watching the show themselves. Chief A.J. Gary from the Conway Police Department in Arkansas said:
The Conway Police Department was alerted to comments made. Due to the nature of the comments, our department moved quickly to look into the matter. At this time we haven't found that any criminal act was committed.
That being said, it should be obvious: As before, with racist comments that have hammered the series this season, don't joke about child porn.

Stallone tweets Willis is 'greedy and lazy' as Harrison Ford tapped for 'Expendables 3'

On Tuesday, Sylvester Stallone tweeted his glee at new casting for "Expendables 3," but he also dissed the actor being replaced, at the same time.

Stallone's tweet said:
WILLIS OUT... HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!
A few minutes, though, Stallone let everyone know "more" about how he felt about the move:
Yes, those caps are as per Stallone's tweet. And yes, it appears he is talking about Bruce Willis.

Stallone's representatives have since confirmed that the tweet was made in reference to Willis, 58, but did not any comment further.

Willis had appeared in the first two installments of the series as Church, the CIA agent who gave the team their assignments.

Ford's representative also confirmed the 71-year-old actor's inclusion in the film, but made it clear that he would play a separate character and not Church.

“The Expendables” series is meant to be a send-up of 1980s and 1990s action films. The first entry was released in 2010, while the second was released in August of 2012. It stars or has starred a number of aging action stars like Stallone, Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

"Expendables 2" raked in $300 million worldwide.

Filming for "Expendables 3" is set to begin later this month for a Nov. 15, 2014 release. Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes and Milla Jovovich are expected to join the cast while Lethal Weapon star Mel Gibson has also been rumored to be up for a role.

This is no game: The final trailer for 'Ender's Game'

On Tuesday, Summit Entertainment revealed the final trailer for Ender's Game, which arrives in theaters and IMAX on Nov. 1. You can watch it, below.

Based on Orson Scott Card's Hugo and Nebula Award winning novel by the same name, the film follows a series of young recruits being trained by Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) to become the next Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley). Rackham is a half-Maori International Fleet commander who saved Earth from the last attack by the Formic race.

As in the novel, Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) must first earn his place in Command School by participating in Battle School. Graff sees that Ender is the one most likely to become the new Rackham and save the human race. He tells him -- obviously without putting pressure on the young lad -- “If you succeed, you’ll be remembered as a hero.”

In addition to Butterfield, Ford, and Kingsley, the film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, and Abigail Breslin. The film is directd by Gavin Hood.

The novel has a gotcha at the end, and a classic one to boot. We won't give it away, but suffice it to say that even if you know the ending, the novel is still a great work of sci-fi.

This trailer shows a lot of what you’d expect: lots of epic-looking special effects. The official synopsis of the film, per Summit:
In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham, all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin, a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.
The film adaptation is planned for release on Nov. 1, 2013. Card is co-producing the film.

Lindsay Lohan pokes fun at other celebrities while guest hosting 'Chelsea Lately'

Lindsay Lohan was the guest host of "Chelsea Lately" on Monday night, and not only did she poke fun at herself, she poked fun at those who took over as tabloid fodder during her time in rehab.

As part of her monologue, she said:
As you all know, for the last 90 days I've been on a lovely court-ordered vacation in Malibu. But on a real note, it was really great and wonderful. It was. So, I've been through a lot lately, and I've got a lot of people to thank for that, most notably the celebrities who kept the tabloid industry alive in my absence.
The list of celebrities who have taken the heat off of Lohan lately is probably well-known to most.

Among her "heroes" were Anthony Weiner and Kanye West, whom she thanked for "acting like a baby and making a baby." She said:
How come when Kanye acts like an idiot, he gets a gold record, but when I act like an idiot, I get a police record? I still haven't figured that out.
She also thanked Justin Bieber "for being where you shouldn't, spitting where you shouldn't and wearing your pants where you shouldn't."

Finally, she added,
Most of all, I would like to thank the one person who's captured the worldwide attention of all of the tabloids: the royal baby.

At that point, Handler's sidekick Chuy Bravo walked out dressed in a onesie and wearing a crown.

Lohan, having recently exited rehab, is reportedly living with a sober coach. She has scored an interview with Oprah on the OWN Network, and an unscripted, reality-based project for OWN, as well.

Justin Bieber's entourage investigated for nightclub brawl

Justin Bieber's entourage is responsible for a brawl that took place at the South Pointe nightclub in Southampton on Sunday, according to a new report. It doesn't appear that Bieber was involved, at all, which his management team is probably hoping, since the 19-year-old took to Twitter to make light of the situation.

A number of things are unclear about the situation, but according to the report, Bieber arrived at the club at about a.m. Sunday. As noted in the report, despite the fact that Bieber is under age, the liquor was flowing freely in the VIP area.

A woman attempted to speak to Bieber, but apparently wasn't good-looking enough, as she wasn't allowed to. She returned with the alleged victim, who had a problem with the way things had gone down. Bieber ending up going "nuts," according to TMZ -- anger management classes seem to be in his future, based on past events -- and pulled off his shirt and screamed at the man.

When Bieber and crew left the club, events flared up again. Bieber reportedly jumped through the sunroof of his SUV and onto the hood. It's unclear exactly what happened after that, but the alleged victim was knocked out and later filed a police report.

Not only was Bieber aggressive, so was his crew, and so was the alleged victim. To be honest, Bieber is 5'7" and skinny (despite being ripped) and most believe he probably wouldn't be as aggressive as he is without his bodyguard contingent.

His tweet, which he issued on Monday in response to reports of the incident:
The most recent rumors might be the funniest of all. Where do u get this stuff??? #focusedonreality
It's not believed Bieber is under investigation, but his crew is.

Adult video residuals show up as damaging Nadya Suleman welfare fraud evidence

What would Octomom's 14 children do without her? The world may find out if an investigation around possible welfare fraud continues as it seems to be, based on a report on Monday.

Originally, TMZ said that the Los Angeles County of Welfare and Fraud Department had opened an investigation Suleman, who famously worked on a self-service porn video in 2012, for Wicked. The department had already determined that Octomom had been overpaid $15,683 in welfare funds from January to May of 2013.

However, payment records from Wicked may make things worse. For this year, Suleman has earned the following residuals:
  • January -- $1,839.74
  • February -- $2,537.27
  • March -- $1,807.97
  • April -- $7,381.99
  • May -- $3,026.67
  • June -- $1,295.37
The six-month total is $17,889.01. Notably, because of her 14 children, Suleman can earn $110,000 and still be on welfare. Despite the fact that the amount seems huge, it's been reported that officials believe she hasn't just exceeded that amount, she's nearly doubled it, earning about $200,000 or more.

Suleman could be charged with welfare fraud, which is a felony. If convicted she would face prison time, but it is possible that the court could simply ask her to pay back the funds.

Meanwhile, also on Monday, it was reported that another celebrity had joined Octomom in the self-service sex video business: Sydney Leathers, better known as one of Anthony Weiner's sexting partners.

Anthony Weiner's sexting partner, Sydney Leathers, enters the porn biz

The most public of New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner's recent sexting partners, Sydney Leathers, has joined the ranks of Octomom. What does that mean: Just as Nadya Suleman did, Leathers -- who really shouldn't need to come up with a stage name -- has entered porn it was reported on Monday.

Just as with Suleman, the film shows only self-love, meaning masturbation.

It is not as though the report wasn't expected, though. Leathers paid a visit to porn company Vivid's Los Angeles headquarters only a few days ago.

While older images of Leathers drawn from Twitpic were reasonably attractive, those taken in a recent photoshoot were not so well-received. That being said, it's unclear how many such videos will be rented or purchased.

It is also unclear how much Leathers was paid.

In an interview on Saturday with The News, Leathers dished on the video:
No one pushed me into anything. They understand I’m like this little Midwestern girl.

I can’t work or go to school right now, how else am I going to make a living? This has consumed my life for the moment. I do want to go back to normal life, but the campaign season is not over.

I think people forget I’m a very normal girl.
In other words, it's time to strike while the iron is hot, even if the woman isn't "that hot."

Justin Bieber has a close encounter with an iPhone

Justin Bieber got up close and personal to some hardware this week. He was awarded Diamond Certification for "Baby" on Thursday, but slightly earlier in the week, he got very close -- or his genitals did, anyway -- to an iPhone.

Originally released on March 23, 2010, "Baby" is the Gold and Platinum Program’s foremost digital single ever, according to the RIAA. The Digital Single Award is a new certification, as of May 2013. It includes sales and online streams.

The second piece of hardware that Bieber got close to this week was an iPhone. During his Tuesday night concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., a fan tossed an iPhone on stage. Ironically, it came as Bieber was asking fans to refrain from tossing hard objects onstage.

Bieber, rather than throwing the device back, reacted by putting the Apple smartphone down his pants. You can see the incident in the embedded video below. Bieber can also be seen tossing the device back into the audience. We are sure the recipient will never clean the device.

It was unclear if the device was an iPhone 4, 4S or 5.

The 12th Doctor to be announced live on Sunday afternoon

Who will be the new Doctor Who? The BBC has decided, it announced on Thursday. The name of the new actor -- or actress -- will be unveiled in a BBC America special on Sunday.

The live half-hour special "Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor" will be aired at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday on BBC America. It will be hosted by British TV personality Zoe Ball, the special will include an interview with the new star (who replaces the departing 11th Doctor, Matt Smith), as well as past actors and executive producer Steven Moffat.

This will be the 12th doctor (when one includes Paul McGann, who portrayed the Doctor in a single TV movie).  There has been speculation that the new Doctor will be a woman.  Despite the fact that the Doctor is now the last Time Lord, there have been female Time Lords in the past, including Romana, who was a companion of the Tom Baker Doctor for some time.

Helen Mirren has been mentioned as a possible Doctor, but she has repeatedly denied any such aspirations.  She has, however, mentioned that a gay black female Doctor would be perfect for the 12th Doctor.

Moffat said:
The decision is made and the time has come to reveal who's taking over the TARDIS. For the last of the Time Lords, the clock is striking 12.
Matt Smith's penultimate appearance as Doctor Who will take place in the 50th anniversary special airing Nov. 23. The Doctor will regenerate to his 12th incarnation in the Christmas Special.

That 50th anniversary special is somewhat faux. Although the Doctor made his first appearance in 1963, there was a long hiatus from 1989 until the 1996 McGann TV movie, and then another hiatus from that point until the 2005 Russell T. Davies reboot in 2005.

Since then, Christopher Eccleston has been the ninth Doctor, David Tennant the tenth, with Matt Smith taking over in 2010.

Simon Cowell accused of being a home wrecker in (former) close friend's divorce

News broke Wednesday that Simon Cowell is facing impending fatherhood, via the wife -- they are still married -- of a (former?) close friend. On Thursday, TMZ learned of the divorce filing in the matter, and the "X Factor" creator is being accused of being a home-wrecker.

In the papers, Andrew Silverman alleges adultery against his wife, Lauren Silverman (New York is a no-fault divorce state, but Silverman is filing for "fault" based on adultery). In the Wednesday report, it was said that the Silvermans' marriage was on the rocks anyway -- but Lauren is 10 weeks pregnant, according to a source.

According to the New York Post, Andrew Silverman has known about this for some time. He filed the paperwork two weeks ago. Any suggestion that the Silverman's marriage was failing ahead of the adultery was faux, according to one of Laura's friends.

That friend said:
The Silvermans weren’t estranged. The suggestion that she was an estranged wife who fell into another man’s arms is not the case.
Instead, one friend called Lauren a "total gold digger." Andrew’s brother, Alexander, told The Post,
It is an unbelievable story of betrayal. It is a sad story and a tragic story.
Andrew, a real-estate mogul, had been so oblivious to the affair that he recently upgraded Lauren Silverman's engagement ring with a 10-karat diamond, another friend added.

One more friend chimed in with an accusation:
The pregnancy was by design.
In the filing, Lauren is listed as a defendant with Cowell listed as a co-respondent. The step Andrew Silverman took, naming Cowell as a co-respondent in the filing, was designed to embarrass Cowell, the Post report said.

The filing says:
The nature of this action is: to dissolve the marriage between the parties based upon (1) the commission of acts of adultery by the defendant and (2) defendant's cruel and inhuman treatment of the plaintiff.
In addition, Andrew Silverman is seeking sole custody of the couple's seven-year-old son, and wants a judge to approve the couple's pre-nuptial agreement that they signed in 2003.
