'This is the End,' or the beginning: Bieber, Gomez seen on secret movie date

Despite recent angst expressed in a recent set of photo shoot demands, a pair of separate reports issued on Friday seem to indicate Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are back on again. At the very least, they like the same movies.

Both Radar Online and Perez Hilton say that Bieber and Gomez were seen at the movie "This is the End" on Thursday, June 27, at the ArcLight Theater in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Gomez and Bieber were seen by multiple eyewitnesses sitting in the front row. The couple came late, and exited early, in a possible attempt to avoid fan attention.

When asked by one persistent Belieber, Justin declined to pose for a photo. At least, though, he didn't throw down with the guy. Instead, he simply said that it wasn’t the right time.

Gomez, 20, and Bieber, 19, were also spotted together earlier in the week, at the L.A. birthday bash for music duo Frequincy on Monday night.

However, on Friday TMZ posted a list of photo shoot demands that Bieber made earlier this month. Among them: no Selena music, which means this reunion came after that shoot.

Whether or not it will stick is still unknown.

Justin Bieber photo shoot demand shows angst around ex-: No Selena music

Not recovering well from his latest ousting from the arms of Selena Gomez? That would seem to be what the latest dished info (on Friday) on Justin Bieber would seem to indicate.

The latest example of Bieber diva-ish behavior is a list of requirements for photo shoots. Among the must-haves is also a must-not-have. There is to be absolutely no Selena Gomez music. Although Bieber only said Selena, we assume he meant Gomez, not the late Selena Quintanilla-Perez.

The info comes from a rider from a Bieber photo shoot done earlier this month. Although other restrictions such as no cell phones and no autographs are rather common, the Selena comment is not. Among the other stranger requirements -- or let's say diva-ish:
  • An iPhone 5 with a battery-powered boombox (spelled batery)
  • Herbal tea
  • A deli platter
  • A veggie platter
  • A large pack of Swedish Fish
  • Ritz Bits Peanut Butter Sandwiches
  • Ritz Bitz Cheese Sandwiches
  • Two large packs of Haribo cola gummies
  • Several packs of white socks and tees
Oh, and don't forget: Don't speak to the "talent."

Since this is a relatively recent set of demands, it appears that the last reunion between Bieber and Gomez didn't work out. Of course, there is always a chance for another one.

Gary Player breaks record as oldest ESPN 'Body Issue' participant

Gary Player has set a record, it was announced on Thursday. The 77-year-old golfer will be among those featured in the latest annual ESPN the Magazine “Body Issue,” the network said.

The previous record holder was 73-year-old swimmer Jeff Farrell, who went sans clothing in 2010.

Although most expect the issue to feature young -- or relatively young -- hot men and women -- particularly women, like Daniela Hantuchova, Oksana Masters, and Ronda Rousey (all 2012) -- Player is known to be a fitness fanatic. He earned the nickname Mr. Fitness in the 1950s and still does 1,000 sit-ups daily.

As Player noted on Twitter, the "Body Issue" celebrates the human body, in all it's forms. He tweeted:
After a lifetime dedicated to health & fitness I’m chuffed to be in @ESPNmag's Body Issue to hopefully inspire others to workout & live well [...]

I was at first hesitant, but @ESPNmag's Body Issue celebrates the human body. No matter what your age, we should all look after ourselves! [...]

I know I'm no Olympic athlete but have worked hard to look after myself. Hopefully @ESPNMag Body Issue will inspire others to do the same.
The magazine isn't going all septuagenarian for the issue, though.

Other athletes who will join Player in the Body Issue include:
  1. San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick,
  2. Olympic volleyball player Kerri Walsh-Jennings
  3. NHRA Funny Car driver Courtney Force
  4. 49ers TE Vernon Davis
  5. NBA player John Wall
  6. NBA player Kenneth Faried
  7. MLB player Matt Harvey

911 call released in Miami Bieber incident: Photographer left scene in fear

The 911 call for the second photographer that has accused Justin Bieber and his security team of "attacking him" in Miami to stop him from taking pictures was released on Friday. The first photographer has sued Bieber and security, and already released a recording of his encounter.

In the 911 call, the photographer was apparently so shaken up by the incident that he fled the scene before calling authorities. In the audio (embedded), you can hear him shout,
They just took my memory card from my camera!
When the 911 operator asked who took it, he replied
Justin Bieber's people.
As we previously reported, the alleged theft went down on June 5 outside the Hit Factory recording studio in Miami, Fla. When the operator asked for the studio's address, the paparazzo said,
I'm no longer there. I left because I'm really scared.
Perhaps strangely, the photographer also mentioned fear that someone would steal his keys.

Police examine possible Aaron Hernandez connection in 2012 dual homicides

Could the murder case involving Aaron Hernandez, former New England Patriot, be just the tip of the iceberg? It's possible. Sources said on Thursday that authorities are investigating Hernandez for two murders in 2012.

However, there has been no official statement on the earlier murders.

The details on the earlier murders are as follows:

On July 15, 2012 Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29, and Safiro Teixeira Furtado, 28 were killed when the BMW sedan they were in was ambushed with a hail of bullets at the corner of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street in Boston's South End. There were three friens in the back seat; Furtado was in the passenger seat while Abreu was driving.

One back-seat passenger was shot three times in the arm, but survived. The other two were unharmed.

Witnesses said they saw a grey SUV-style motor vehicle with Rhode Island plates fleeing the scene after the men were shot. Reportedly, the drive-by shooting occurred just hours after Hernandez was witnessed in a nightclub altercation of some sort.

Hernandez spent the night in jail after being charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses. Prosecutors claim he "orchestrated" the execution of Odin Lloyd, 27, a semi-pro football player and a friend of Hernandez's from Boston.

A second man, Carlos Ortiz of Bristol, Conn., has also been arrested in connection with the Lloyd killing. To this point, though, officials have thus far not explained Ortiz's role.

Hernandez was denied bail.

Could Bubblicious prove to be a 'smoking gum' in the Aaron Hernandez / Odin Lloyd murder case?

As new details emerge in the murder case involving former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, one key piece of evidence may be something chewable. The smoking gun in the Odin Lloyd murder may not be a gun at all, but rather "smoking gum," it was reported on Wednesday.

During the arraignment held on Wednesday, prosecutors said that they could prove Hernandez purchased gasoline, some Black and Mild cigars., and blue cotton candy flavored Bubblicious bubble gum just hours before Lloyd was murdered, while he was driving a rented silver Nissan Altima. Why is that significant?

After Lloyd's murder, authorities said that they found a shell casing in Hernandez's rental car that matched the caliber of the bullet that was used to kill Lloyd. In addition, next to the casing, they found -- a chewed piece of blue cotton candy flavored Bubblicious bubble gum.

According to prosecutors, Hernandez eventually ditched the rented Altima and acquired another rented automobile. During the routine cleanup of the car done after the Altima was returned, an attendant at the rental car station discovered two interesting items beneath the driver's seat: a .45-caliber shell casing and a piece of chewed bubble gum.

The shell casing matches the caliber of the weapon used to kill Lloyd, and the gum -- well, we would have to chew on that fact.

Prosecutors still do not have the murder weapon. DNA testing on the gum could, though, could perhaps show whether or not Hernandez left a "smoking gum" in the car.

Target, diabetes drug make sever ties with Paula Deen

Paula Deen got the axe from two other companies on Thursday. The troubled celebrity chef has been losing endorsements left and right since revelations of her prior use of the n-word emerged.

One, of course, was hardly surprising. Target said that:
We have made a decision to phase out the Paula Deen merchandise in our stores as well as on Target.com. Once the merchandise is sold out, we will not be replenishing inventory
If it sounds familiar, it is. It is nearly the same statement that Walmart gave when it bumped Deen earlier this week.

That was the reason that a Target firing seemed inevitable. With its huge rival dumping Deen, it was hard to imaging Target standing by her.

In January of 2012, Deen revealed that she had type 2 diabetes. That disease is where this latest endorsement to jettison her came from. Also on Thursday, diabetes drug maker Novo Nordisk ditched Deen. However, there were two important words in the company's statement: for now.

Novo Nordisk's full statement was:
Novo Nordisk and Paula Deen have mutually agreed to suspend our patient education activities for now, while she takes time to focus her attention where it is needed.

Novo Nordisk would like to acknowledge Paula's involvement in our Diabetes in a New Light™ campaign, where she has helped make many people aware of type 2 diabetes and the lifestyle changes needed to control this serious disease.
It's unclear if the company is just sugar-coating it (pun intended) -- or really means it.

In the campaign, Deen had sung the virtues of Novo Nordisk's diabetes drug Victoza, which she takes.

While many big companies have chosen to ditch Deen, on Wednesday, her reps were passing around letters from nine smaller companies that vow to stick by her.

Kris Jenner defends granddaughter's navigational name on 'The View'

Appearing on the Wednesday episode of "The View," Kardashian clan matriarch Kris Jenner defended her new granddaughter's name -- North West.

Co-host Barbara Walters brought up the controversy over North West, as well as the possibility that a daughter would have been named with a "K." She said:
I mean, it's funny, but do you really want your child named North West, and would you have preferred it have been a K? Grandma, I know it's their decision, but how do you feel about them naming their little girl North?
To that, Kris (who probably did not appreciate being mentioned as "Grandma" -- "Brandma," maybe) said:
I love the name North. I'm pro-North, absolutely.

The way [Kim] explained it to me, north means highest power, and North is their highest point together. I thought that was really sweet.
Jenner's explanation is precisely the one that was given earlier. North is not meant to be navigational, but inspirational.

According to multiple reports, the little darling already has a nickname that is definitely not directional: Nori. Of course, sushi fans will recognize that name as the edible seaweed commonly used as a wrap for sushi and onigiri.

Jenner was on "The View" for more than just compass talk. She is making the rounds to promote her upcoming daytime talk show.

Kristen Bell tweets proposal to Dax Shepard just after DOMA is mostly struck down

Seemingly moments after the Supreme Court struck down key portions of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on Wednesday, "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell immediately jumped on Twitter. She tweeted a proposal to longtime beau Dax Shepard.
.@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove”
His response was quick -- though later deleted. It was:
F--- yes!!!!!!
It was later replaced with the better-thought out and more family friendly response, below:
DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let's bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!
No wedding date has been announced, yet, although it appears the couple is serious.  Bell and Shepard have a daughter, Lincoln Bell Shepard, born in March of 2013.

The "We won't marry until everyone can marry" stance has been taken by other straight celebrity couples in the past. Among the most high-profile was Brangelina, who told Esquire in 2006 that:
Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able.
Since then, Pitt and Jolie have become engaged, but no wedding date has been announced.

They may be waiting a while, too. SCOTUS' decision on DOMA on Wednesday did not completely strike down the law. It left in place the portion of DOMA that says that states don't have to recognize the marriages that have taken place legally in other states.

Thus, although a same-sex couple that is married will now receive the same federal benefits and burdens of a heterosexual couple, they may not receive the same in terms of state burdens and benefits.

Additionally, the DOMA decision -- and the Prop. 8 decision, also issued on Wednesday -- does not affect states that have not legalized marriage equality. Only 13 states -- including California, now that the Prop. 8 decision is in place -- have legalized same-sex marriage.

North West's photographic debut rumored to be on Kris Jenner's debut daytime show episode

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West said earlier that their baby daughter, North West, wouldn't be a staple on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." That being said, part of the Kardashian empire is still going to get an exclusive, it was reported Wednesday.

Apparently, North West images will debut on July 15, along with another debut. Pictures of the recently birthed baby will be shown on Kris Jenner's new daytime talk show's debut.

Until then, Jenner is keeping any grandmotherly photos close to her vest. She appeared on Tuesday's "Today" show, fro example, but when Matt Lauer joked that she must have a lot of photos of the baby on her cell phone, the exchange went as follows:
Matt: You've taken lots of photos; you want to show me your cell phone?

Kris: I'd have to kill you if I showed you my cell phone.
She also teased possible details on a Kim / Kanye wedding might show up on the debut episode, but that looked like a joke, as well. She did add:
I don’t, know, you’d have to ask them that, I keep that stuff all to them.
You can watch Jenner's "Today" appearance in the embedded video.

Watch as Leno challenges, Sandra Bullock delivers: An F-bomb on the 'Tonight Show'

It is always big news whenever a celebrity drops the "f bomb," although the question "Why?" always pops into our heads. The latest celebrity to run into an f-based FUBAR is Sandra Bullock, who dropped it on "The Tonight Show" on Wednesday night.

Sandra Bullock has been making the rounds of talk shows to discuss her upcoming film, "The Heat," which co-stars Melissa McCarthy. With the media blitz, you might expect the movie to release soon, and you'd be right: It launches into theaters on Friday, June 28.

Bullock said that there are 190 F-bombs in the movie, but that most belong to Melissa McCarthy. She added a few other things, though, including one that had to be bleeped (embedded video).
I'm chaste in that world [the f-bomb dropping world]. And when you drop them, you're just cooler. I'm cooler, when I drop them.
She confirmed, though, that in her private life, she doesn't drop them -- in front of children.

Leno then asked:
Any children here tonight?
That gave Sandra the opening she needed. When there was no affirmation of children, she said:
You known, it just makes me f*cking cool when I drop them.
Bullock also appeared on "Chelsea Lately" earlier this week. There, she and host Chelsea Handler discussed their areola-to-areola meeting earlier this season.

Walmart, Caesars cut ties with Paula Deen, despite emotional interview on 'Today'

Celebrity chef Paula Deen emerged from "Today Show" hiding on Wednesday, appearing on the show after cancelling an appearance last Friday. The appearance turned emotional, and that was without further bad news for Deen, which came later in the day.

Deen began her interview with Matt Lauer composed and calm. Later, though, she broke down into tears. Despite this, Lauer continued to probe and push.

She said, in defense of revelations of her past use of the n-word,
I believe that every creature on this earth -- every one of God's creatures -- was created equal.
She -- once again -- insisted she is not a racist and that there have been "some very hurtful lies said about me.

When Lauer gave her a tough question, asking if,
[...]given the same circumstances, would you have fired you?
Deen paused for a moment. She responded with the word, "No."

When he went further, asking her -- despite numerous assertions that she has already made -- if she was a racist, she again said no.
It was 30 years ago. I had had a gun put to my head, a shaking gun because the man that had the gun to my head was my customer at the main office.
Deen is referring to the fact that she was once robbed at gunpoint by -- yes, a black man -- to whom she had once issued a loan.

Deen went further, and brought out the Bible, not literally, but metaphorically. She said:
If you’ve never committed a sin, please pick up that rock and pick up that boulder and hit me as hard as you can.
The 13-minute long interview ended with Deen saying:
I is what I is and I'm not changing.
Later on Wednesday, Walmart became the latest and biggest firm to sever ties with the chef. In addition, Deen's name is being stripped from four buffet restaurants owned by Caesars, although the company said that its decision to rebrand its restaurants in Joliet, Ill.; Tunica, Miss.; Cherokee, N.C.; and Elizabether, Ind., was a mutual one, made with Deen.

Last week, the Food Network said that it would not renew the celebrity cook's contract, which expires at the end of this month. On Monday, Smithfield Foods, which sold Paula Deen-branded hams in addition to featuring her as a spokeswoman, said said it was dropping her as a spokeswoman.

Target Corp., which carries Paula Deen-branded products, repeated on Wednesday that it was "evaluating the situation." Considering its rivalry with Walmart, there is a suspicion that Target may follow Walmart's example.

At the same time, though, Deen's representatives continued to attempt to show that some of Deen's backers were still showing support for her. They offered up nine letters showing other companies supporting Deen.

POTUS suprises victors: Congratulatory call during Prop. 8 victory interview

Live TV often captures cool moments, and sometimes captures strange moments. On Wednesday, shortly after the Supreme Court issued a "narrow" decision on California's Prop. 8, two of the pro "marriage equality" plaintiffs in the case received a congratulatory email that was caught on camera.

Just as Kris Perry and Sandy Stier were giving a live interview on MSNBC, someone ran over with a cell phone and said that the POTUS was on the line. The phone was switched to speaker mode, and all were able to listen as Obama congratulated the couple.

We'll see if Obama can clear space on his docket: One of the people in the crowd surrounding the phone invited the President to a wedding.

On Wednesday, in a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court basically invalidated California's same-sex marriage ban, Prop. 8, saying that the activists who put Proposition 8 on California ballots in 2008 did not have standing to defend the law in federal courts after the state refused to appeal its loss at trial.

“We have never before upheld the standing of a private party to defend the constitutionality of a state statute when state officials have chosen not to,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion. “We decline to do so for the first time here.”

It does not, however, mean that marriage equality -- or same-sex marriage -- is now legalized across the nation. The ruling was narrow in that it only invalidated California's Prop. 8. This leaves the decision on marriage equality at the state level.

However, also on Wednesday, the court struck down DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, which barred the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages legalized by the states, saying it was unconstitutional.

"The federal statute is invalid, for no legitimate purpose overcomes the purpose and effect to disparage and to injure those whom the State, by its marriage laws, sought to protect in personhood and dignity,” Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion. "By seeking to displace this protection and treating those persons as living in marriages less respected than others, the federal statute is in violation of the Fifth Amendment."

Patriots release Aaron Hernandez after TE's arrest for murder

Update: the charge against Hernandez is murder. He was also charged with several counts of unlawful possession of firearms. A judge ordered him to be held without bail.

Aaron Hernandez, a 23-year-old former tight end for the New England Patriots, has been taken into custody by police. He was led out of his North Attleborough, Mass., home in handcuffs on Wednesday morning.

It is, as yet, unclear why Hernandez was arrested. The events come over a week after the body of Odin Lloyd, 27, was found about a half-mile away from Hernandez's home, on June 17. The death was ruled a homicide; Hernandez has not been named as a suspect in the case, but police have searched his home, which sits on the Rhode Island border not far from the Gillette Stadium, home of the Patriots, several times since Lloyd's death.

Lloyd was a semipro football player. Lloyd's family members said that Lloyd, who had been shot in the head, and Hernandez were friends who had been together the day prior to his body's discovery.

Shortly after his arrest, the Patriots announced that they had released Hernandez.
A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation.

We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do.
Even the Massachusetts State Police uses Twitter, apparently. They tweeted confirmation of his arrest, and added that charges will not be released until Hernandez is arraigned, later today.
We are not releasing the charge against Hernandez until it is presented to the court. Again, he will be arraigned in Attleboro Court today
Last week a Connecticut man, 30-year-old Alexander S. Bradley, filed a civil lawsuit in Florida saying Hernandez shot him in the face in February, causing him to lose an eye; he was seeking damages in excess of $100,000.

According to a Palm Beach County police report, the case was abandoned because Bradley refused to cooperate with authorities.

Did Facebook cyberbullying play a role in Paris Jackson's suicide attempt

Although reports have been that Paris Jackson's suicide attempt followed her being told she could not attend a recent Marilyn Manson concert, a new report issued Wednesday says that the family believes cyberbullying has a lot to do with her problems.

This wouldn't be the first suicide attempt -- or even suicide -- prompted by social networking cyberbullying. The so-called "MySpace suicide" of teenager Megan Meier is often seen as the most famous example of such an incident.

TMZ reports that sources say that Paris, 15, has been seeing numerous comments left on her Facebook page blasting her father Michael Jackson. Some have gone so far as to mention the various molestation allegations.

One source said that the comments have wreaked havoc on Paris. "They destroyed her." The source added that there is a connection between the cyberbullying and Jackson's recently discovered cutting interest.

Jackson continues to be ensconced in the psych ward at the UCLA Medical Center where she has no access to Facebook. However, her family is reportedly concerned that she will backslide into a suicidal funk if she goes returns to Facebook when she exits the ward.

Although the Jacksons have tried to delete Paris' Facebook page, they can't. Facebook's policy is that if a user is 13 years of age and older, the family has no right to shut down an account.

Facebook has a page dedicated to cyberbullying. Notably, it says hateful comments violate the site's TOS.

Deleting the page may not be a permanent solution, anyway. Jackson could always create a new one.

Sandra Bullock describes pixelation envy during areola-to-areola first meeting with Chelsea Handler

On Monday night's "Chelsea Lately" show, host Chelsea Handler and guest Sandra Bullock revisited their hilarious skit from the show's season premiere back in October. In that sketch, the two appeared -- properly pixelated, naturally -- nude, as Bullock gave Handler a "talking-to," areola to areola.

Handler, 38, traded gibes with Bullock, 48. She said:
I know that you like to do movies with other women and that you like to be nude with other women.
Bullock responded by saying:
Well, actually, there's only been one other woman I've been nude with.
Handler continued, asking,
What's her name?
To that, Bullock replied,
It's your name.
In the original skit, Bullock gave Handler a "dressing down," telling Handler that she needed to worry about “pulling her sh*t together with this fancy new stage.”

Bullock continued, saying:
You have a responsibility to be a respectable talk show host. This comes directly from Oprah's mouth to my ear, to my mouth, out of my mouth, into your ear, down your body, out your vagina, up my vagina and out my a--.
She then told Handler to “lay off the booze,” and “stop sleeping with your guests.”

It turns out, according to Bullock, that the skit was her idea:
That's right, I suggested we be naked together in a very vulnerable position with about 30 crew members that I didn't know any of, nor did really I know you at the time.
Handler agreed that it was the first time they had ever met, saying:
That was how we first met: areola to areola!
Bullock added that she felt the cover-up was unfair to her. Gesturing to her chest, she said,
There's less here than there is on her side. Her pixelation, she just had to cover up her areolas. Me, on the other hand, they just covered up my areolas, it was like one square.
Bullock was ostensibly on the show to promote her upcoming film, "The Heat," which she co-stars in with Melissa McCarthy.

Video of their latest meeting is embedded; you can see the pixelation in question at our prior coverage from last October.

Did Miley Cyrus just tweet a picture of her father's 'other woman?'

Miley Cyrus tweeted a cryptic post to her father on Monday night, leading some to wonder if the reason behind Billy Ray's divorce from Tish Cyrus involves the woman included in the tweet's attached picture.

Tyhe tweet said:
@billyraycyrus since you won’t reply to my texts I’m giving you an hour to tell the truth or ill tell it for you
Her mother, Tish Cyrus, filed from divorce from Billy Ray on June 13. That was about three years after Billy Ray had filed for divorce, but in that case, the filing was eventually dropped.

Tbe "other woman" in the image has since been identified as Dylis Croman. Croman was a member of the “Chicago” cast when Billy Ray starred in the Broadway production in late 2012. Suspicious? perhaps.

However, the tweet was later deleted. Cyrus later -- seemingly -- implied her Twitter account had been hacked. A tweet said:
Wtf? My twitter was just actin all types of cray!
It's not the first time that Cyrus has slammed her father for poor texting etiquette. She did the same the day Tish filed for divorce, when she tweeted:
@billyraycyrus, since your texts and email obviously aren't working would you like to talk like this?"

Chris Brown tweets up a defensive storm over two criminal hit-and-run charges

The Los Angeles City Attorney has filed two criminal charges against Chris Brown, it was learned Tuesday. Brown spent Tuesday tweeting about the incident, with numerous posts on Twitter.

The charges are in connection with a minor auto accident with a Mercedes-Benz last month.

The accident may be minor; the consequences many not be. Reportedly Brown left the scenes after refusing the give the woman his driver's license number. While he did give her insurance information, TMZ said that the info was faked.

The City Attorney has charged Brown with hit-and-run, for leaving the scene without exchanging proper information, and also for driving without a valid license. The crimes are punishable by a maximum of six months in jail for each offense.

However, remember that Brown is on probation for the Rihanna beating case. The City Attorney will refer the matter to the Los Angeles County District Attorney as a possible probation violation. If a judge concludes that Brown violated his probation, he could be sentenced to prison for four years.

The numerous tweets, starting about four hours ago, said:
It's not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous

I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene.

She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures.

My lawyers will be contacting you. I will not stand for this bullying and yellow journalism!

My profile pic [above] is the pic I took of the persons car after "the hit and run". NO damage. Just a dirty car.once again, I gotta clear my name

I work my ass off to provide for my entire family. I've made mistakes in the past and have worked hard to be a better person.

Scottie Pippen Nobu fight details emerge: The n-word was involved

Details on the Scottie Pippen Nobu fight are leaking out. According to sources close to Pippen, the Sunday night fight at the Malibu Nobu restaurant took place because the middle-aged "fan" was drunk, overly aggressive, and called Pippen the n-word.

Paula Deen can tell this man it was precisely the wrong thing to do.

Apparently, the still unnamed man had been attempting to get Pippen's attention all night long. Pippen was eating at Nobu, and after Pippen's guests went to the restroom, the man sat in one of the guest's seats. He peppered Pippen with questions, and although he politely asked the man to leave, finally Pippen caved in and agreed to take a picture with the man outside of the restaurant.

Remember, that is where the fight took place.

However, once outside, the man became more aggressive, and requested -- or rather, demanded an autograph. When Pippen refused, the man used the n-word, and to make matters worse, spat at Pippen.

Pippen became incensed, not because the man spat at him, but because the spittle landed on his young daughter. At that point, Pippen flew into a rage.

As reported earlier, the alleged victim was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital with injuries to his head, face, and back. Pippen has since spoken with authorities and he was not arrested.

Pippen is -- or was, when he was a player -- 6'8", 228 pounds, making him a daunting opponent in a fight.

Downton Abbey adds a rhino in series four: Paul Giamatti

Considering the events of last season's Downton Abbey, some might wonder if being on the show puts you into the category of endangered species. With that, the series added a member of an endangered species to the show on Tuesday: a rhino.

The show announced it has added Academy Award-nominated actor ("Cinderella Man") to the mix. Giamatti is currently filming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" where, you guessed it, he plays the supervillain Rhino.

Starting with the Christmas episode, Giamatti will star along Elizabeth McGovern (Lady Grantham) as her "maverick playboy" brother. Other additions to series four of the show include Dame Kiri Te Kanawa as a "singing house guest" and EastEnders actor Nigel Harman as a visiting valet named Green.

Gareth Neame, from production company Carnival Films said:
We're excited that Paul Giamatti will be joining us on Downton to play Cora's brother Harold, the rather free-spirited uncle to Mary and Edith. We can't wait to see him work alongside Shirley MacLaine, who are both sure to upset the Granthams' apple cart in this year's Christmas Day episode.
It's an interesting move -- American viewers are familiar with British and Australian actors and actresses working on U.S. series, disguising their accents well, but going the other way is not so common.

U.S. actors coming to the period drama just emphasize how popular the show has become in the United States. As an example, 12.3 million Americans tuned in to the series three finale which was broadcast on Feb. 17, which made it the highest-rated show of the day. At the same time, the episode broke the viewership record for broadcaster PBS.

The show has won nine Emmys.

Marvel announces three new untitled films, coming in 2016, 2017

On Tuesday, doubtless to push back against Warner Bros. and DC Comics success with "Man of Steel" (as well as hopes for "Justice League"), Marvel announced three new -- but unnamed -- films for 2016 and 2017.

Marvel Studios will apparently continue to release two films per year. Their upcoming schedule of films, following 2015's "Ant-Man," is as:
  • Untitled Film, May 6, 2016
  • Untitled Film, July 8, 2016
  • Untitled Film, May 5, 2017
The question, of course, is which characters will fill those films? It's believed that at least two of the three movies will be for Marvel Comics characters that have yet to appear on the big screen.

However, we'd also expect that assuming that the third is not in that category, we'd get to see a film featuring Mark Ruffalo's Hulk character, who debuted as the current incarnation of the green goliath in "The Avengers."

If that were the case, though, we wouldn't get a chance at a new Daredevil film. Now that the rights to the 'Daredevil' franchise have reverted back to Marvel from Fox, there are rumors aplenty that Matt Murdock -- despite the failure with 2003's Ben Affleck version -- will return, rebooted.

Doctor Strange could be one of the movie newcomers. There has already been a 1978 TV movie and a 2007 direct-to-video film. Earlier this year Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige confirmed that Marvel's sorcerer supreme would appear as part of the third phase of Marvel's cinematic universe. In May, he added that a film was already in development.

The Black Panther, also known as T'Challa, the king of the Wakanda, is considered to be the first black comic book superhero in mainstream American comics.

We expect to hear more at the San Diego Comic-Con in mid-July. Until then, we suspect that only speculation will be available.

The news came shortly after it was announced that Robert Downey, Jr. had been signed to two more "Avengers" movies.

DC Comics, which is looking to duplicate Marvel's success with "The Avengers" with a "Justice League" film, needs to start filming movies with ancillary characters, if they hope to catch up.

Push present or engagement ring: Kanye gifts Kim with $770,000 bauble

Kanye West has given Kim Kardashian, who just gave birth to their daughter, North, a ring worth half a million pounds, it was reported on Monday. It's unclear if the ring is an engagement ring or something else, though, as the couple has made no confirmation over the bauble.

Sources say that the $770,000 ring -- a rare black and tiger-string diamond ring -- isn't an engagement ring, but rather a "push present." A push present, also known as push gift, baby mama gift or baby bauble is a gift the father gives a mother after their child is born, and is a relatively new phenomenon in the United States.

Others say, though, that although West has yet to give Kardashian an official engagement ring, the two will make their relationship official in September with a "low key" wedding (which is hard to imagine in the Kardashian empire).

West spared no expense on North's birth. The couple rented not one, but three deluxe suites at Cedars-Sinai costing nearly $4,000 apiece, per night. The suites come with three bedrooms, two marble bathrooms, flat screen TVs, leather sofas, dining areas, and personal chefs, who were on call 24/7.

Kim was also able to make use of each suite’s beauty salon services, including daily blow dries, manicures and pedicures.

Finally, she also had the help of a doula, a personal labor coach, which cost the couple over $4,500 a day.

A source said:
Kanye wasted no money in making sure Kim had the best of everything while she’s in hospital.

He has spent half a million on a ring as a push present and had it designed months ago in preparation.

He’s even more in love with her now than ever and they can’t wait to get married.

Police decide against charging Scottie Pippen after Nobu fight

Former NBA great and NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen is in hot water over a reported fracas outside Nobu in Malibu, Calif., on Sunday, with reports of a police investigation and images of the alleged victim hitting the media on Monday.

According to Los Angeles Sheriff's County Sergeant Rich Pena, police responded to a call over the fight outside the Japanese restaurant at about 6:30 p.m. PDT. The "injured male adult," who was later taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a head injury. The victim was released Tuesday morning, the authorities added.

Pippen, 47, was identified by witnesses as one of the combatants. He was named a suspect for a charge of assault to commit great bodily harm.

However, police interviewed Pippen on Monday (video embedded) and released him. Police decided against arresting Pippen after speaking with him -- at least for now. However, the investigation is ongoing.

The images of the alleged victim show the alleged victim being carted off in an ambulance. His head can be seen supported by a neck brace.

Reportedly, the alleged victim is an autograph seeker who reportedly suffered injuries to his head and back when the former Chicago Bulls star allegedly punched and kicked him repeatedly. He even lost some teeth in the fracas, it was said.

Woman who gifted Chris Brown with her thong now IDed

As of Tuesday, her identity is now known: The woman who gave Chris Brown a pair of her panties on Saturday at the Heat Ultra Lounge in Malibu has come forward.

She's apparently 21-year-old Carol Quiroz. She said she is a huge Chris Brown fan, and as such decided to make a present of her silky white thong. She said:
I wrote my name, number and Instagram on the thong in permanent marker. I got his attention and handed it to him.
Quiroz also cleared up the next most important detail -- after her identity, that is -- the panties were unused. She does, however, admit that she was had been hiding them in her bra.
I definitely had boob sweat on the panties.
Brown, however, has not contacted her, as of yet.

A video of the "hand-off" is embedded.

Interestingly enough, things were apparently pretty hot that night at the Heat, and not just over panties. Brown has been accused of assaulting a woman, who claims he deliberately shoved her to the ground. However, the owner said that it wasn't Brown who might have had an altercation with the fan, but security.

Security, the owner said, booted 24-year-old Deanna Gines from the club after she repeatedly attempted to jump on stage during Brown's performance at the club, and later tried to rush him in his roped-off VIP area.

Paula Deen fans blast The Food Network on social media

In the wake of revelations about celebrity chef Paula Deen's use of the n-word last week, the Food Network fired her last week. Since then, the network has been blasted on social media, with its Facebook page still exploding with comments on Monday, virtually none of them about recipes.

This isn't to say that there are many blasting Deen, as well. The sheer volume and anger directed at the Food Network on its Facebook page, though, seems to dwarf the anti-Deen comments.
Mary Gibbs Black said "Find me a white or black person that has not used the "n" word at sometime in their life & I will call them a liar."

Laura Barnson Black said "Not happy you dropped Paula Deen and the way you treated her. I won't be renewing my magazine subscription or watching the food network channel anymore. You made a mistake -- it's not too late to correct it."

Serena Mitchell said "I just wanted you to know that I will no longer be watching you network. Yes, Paula Deen made a mistake just like the rest of us but to fire her was not the right thing to do in my eyes. I will no longer support any of your other chefs or their products. You could have suspended her but you chose to fire her. Be careful of what you say around people because you never know when it will come back on you."

Melanie Stone Childers said, "Good-bye Food Network!! I turn my back on you, just as you did Paula!"
John McWhorter, an associate professor of English and comparative literature at Columbia University, penned an opinion piece for Time titled "Viewpoint: The Food Network Should Give Paula Deen Back Her Job."

Among his points was Deen's age (66):
[...] the Food Network has fired her after revelations that Deen has been a normal person of her time and place. Even though she has levelLed no fewer than three public apologies. The reason is the unique status of the N-word.

People of Deen's generation can neither change the past nor completely escape their roots in it, anymore than the rest of us. They can apologize and mean it, as Deen seems to. They also deserve credit for owning up to past sins, as Deen did candidly when she could easily have, shall we say, whitewashed the matter. [...]

Deen is old and she's sorry. She should get her job back.

Nik Wallenda thanks Jesus, the Lord 100-plus times as he tightrope walks across the Grand Canyon

If you think that someone tightrope-walking across the Grand Canyon might place a little faith in God, you'd be right. Nik Wallenda, 34, the self-described "King of the Wire," did just that on Sunday, but was wired for both sound and video and as such viewers -- it was broadcast live -- got to see and hear him cross the gap.

Wallenda was 1,500 feet above the floor of the Grand Canyon. Perched on a two-inch-wide cable, it took him 22 minutes to cross the 1,400 foot gap. The event was broadcast live on the Discovery network's "Skywire" show.

Wallenda is the first to cross the Grand Canyon. He made the walk sans a tether or safety net, as he is wont to do.

On June 15, 2012, he was also the first person to walk a tightrope stretched directly over Niagara Falls.

Wallenda stopped and crouched down twice during his walk. The first time he stopped due to the wind. The second time he stopped because the cable had picked up a nerve-racking rhythm.

During his walk, Wallenda could be heard praying nearly constantly, saying either "Thank you, Jesus" or " Thank you, Lord." According to a rough count by TMZ, Wallenda thanked Jesus 63 times, and "the Lord" 39 times.

Nik Wallenda is a seventh-generation member of the "Flying Wallendas" family of acrobats. He said: "It was a dream come true. This is what my family has done for 200 years, so it's part of my legacy.

A shakycam video of the entire walk -- likely to be taken down -- is available here.

First 'Man of Steel 2' casting rumor zooms in: Mark Strong as Lex Luthor

It was rumored last week that Warner Bros. was trying to fast track a sequel to "Man of Steel" for 2014, which would serve as an appetizer for a "Justice League" film in 2015. The rumor mill for that film has begun churning out tidbits, with the first appearing on Monday: British actor Mark Strong is reportedly being considering for the role of Lex Luthor in the "Man of Steel" sequel.

Certainly, we can say that Strong is follically correct for the role. He was also in the film Warner Bros. and DC Comics film "Green Lantern," playing Sinestro.

Of course, this is all still rumor. Despite the fact that Lex Luthor seems an obvious choice for "Man of Steel 2," with a teaser appearing in the first film in the reboot of the Superman franchise, it's not clear that he would appear in the second film.

For one, there hasn't been talk of a storyline being created yet, but with the success of the film, we'd expect a flood of rumors to come.

In its second weekend of release, "Man of Steel" tumbled nearly 65 percent, to $41.2 million. That dropped it below "Monsters University" ($82 million) and "World War Z" ($66 million). Thus far, though, the film has taken in $210 million -- domestically -- on an estimated $225 million budget.

That was a huge domestic drop, nearly reaching the 66 percent drop of the aforementioned "Green Lantern," which is not good news for the film. However, overseas, the film expanded into 52 markets and added $89 million, bringing its overseas togal to $188.3 million. There are some major markets to come, with the movie reaching Australia next weekend, Brazil in July, and Japan in August.

"Man of Steel" stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent / Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Michael Shannon (General Zod), Russell Crowe (Jor-El), Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Antje Traue (Faora) and Ayelet Zurer (Lara Lor-Van).

Not navigational, but instead inspirational: The explanation for Kimye as 'North West'

Despite the fact that North West seems pretty directional -- and perhaps silly, and bound to attract heckling and teasing by other children -- Kim Kardashian and Kanye West did not name their daughter a compass direction. Instead, it was said on Monday, the name was given to be inspirational, not navigational.

Sources close to the celebrity couple said that North wasn't meant to point to a direction, but rather to be a metaphor for "up." It was meant to indicate the relative greatness of their child.

They have been asking friends, "What's North of North? Nothing." In other words, their baby is primo, the best.

What's interesting is that the sources added that the couple believes North is their pinnacle together as a couple, and they consider her their "North Star." If this is their pinnacle, what will their second baby (assuming there is one) be, though?

Additionally, if this is the best that their relationship can be, why bother with getting married. Despite rumors to the contrary, the couple is still not engaged, by the way. It's expected, though, that a wedding is sometime in their future.

Sadly, this explains why the couple did not give North the middle name of "By North" (full name, North By North West). Indeed, despite the new explanation, most probably still don't feel bad about mocking the name choice.

In addition, you can bet kids won't feel bad about mocking North's name, either.

Rescued from a dumb oblivion: Universal to take on 'Dumb and Dumber To'

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema may not have thought enough about "Dumb and Dumber To," but Universal apparently did. Time will tell if Warner made a bonehead -- yes, some might call it, dumb -- move, but for now, as announced on Friday, Universal has picked up the rights to the Farrelly brothers' highly anticipated comedy.

Reportedly, Warner Bros. got cold feet over the sequel to "Dumb and Dumber" after New Line's "The Incredible Adventures of Burt Wonderstone" bombed. The films had similar budgets -- around $30 million -- and Jim Carrey. However, in "Wonderstone," Carrey had a smaller part, and the headline role was Steve Carell's.

Still, the studio gave the Farrellys the go-ahead to shop the film around. After production company Red Granite agreed to finance the film, Universal picked it up.

Carrey, who backed out of "Dumb and Dumber To" last year -- for a brief time -- after noting Warner Bros. lack of enthusiasm, made no bones about it. He thought dumping the film was dumb idea.
I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer. After all, it's implied in the title.
Carrey will reunite with costar Jeff Daniels in their respective roles of Lloyd and Harry some 19 years after the original hit.

The original brought in a global box office of $247.2 million on a budget estimated at $17 million. Indeed, it seemed like a no-brainer, and there is pent-up fan fever for the movie, too. Still, Warner Bros. will still make money if the film works out. The company will still retain a licensing fee and a share of the box office receipts.

Food Network decides against Paula Deen renewal; celebrity chef botches a video apology for 'n word' use

Her goose is cooked. The Food Network axed celebrity chef Paula Deen on Friday, with revelations over her use of the "n-word" the most likely final straw.

News of her firing came the same day that Deen issued not one, but two separate video apologies. TMZ called the first of the two apologies "an apology produced by committee" that "strung a bunch of words together that make Deen look pathetic." Deen later removed the apology from her YouTube channel, replacing it with the one below.

That one was better received, and the blurb attached to the video said:
After spending all day soul searching and trying to figure out how to deal with what I did, I recorded a video trying to do the right thing. In the end, Ifelt that I needed to just be myself, say I am sorry and beg for frogiveness (sic).

What said was wrong and hurtful. I know that and will do everything that I can do make it right. I am not about hate, and I will devote myself to showing my family, friends and fans how to live a life helping others, lifting us all up, and spreading love.

Paula
For those who missed it, Deen admitted in a deposition that she used the "n word." She also admitted loving the presentation at a restaurant where:
The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie.

I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America…after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War ... It was not only black men, it was black women ... I would say they were slaves.
Deen's contract was due up for renewal at the end of this month. Officials at the Food Network simply decided to not renew it, it was reported.

Watch as real-life Bada Bing stripper pays tribute to the late James Gandolfini

What better way to pay tribute to the late, great James Gandolfini than to strip for him, with the theme song of "The Sopranos" playing in the background? After all, the fictional strip club from the series was a key location for many events in the show. Thus, we have this SFW performance from Thursday night, filmed at the real-life Bada Bing, Satin Dolls.

All interior and exterior shots of the Bada Bing club were filmed on location at Satin Dolls, which is an actual go-go bar on Route 17 in Lodi, New Jersey. Notably, New Jersey law prohibits topless or nude dancing in establishments that sell alcohol, which probably explains the SFW-ness of this video. The nudity shown in Bada Bing in the series is where HBO took poetic license.

The clip below features longtime Satin Dolls -- and Bada Bing -- veteran Diana Lynn, who first appeared on the "The Sopranos" pilot episode back in 1999. She worked as a background dancer in several "Sopranos" episodes after the pilot, and has been dancing at Satin Dolls for 15 years.

Humorously, Lynn said that Gandolfini "often hung around Satin Dolls after filming just to squeeze in some quality stripper time."

Among the big events shown at Bada Bing during "The Sopranos," per Wikipedia:
  • Tony Soprano and his crew find out Jackie Aprile, Sr. has died from his illness. One of the dancers vows never to forget where she was the day Jackie died.
  • Tony Soprano cancels the hit on Don Hauser, his daughter's soccer coach and an uncovered statutory rapist.
  • Tony and Sil agree to have Richie Aprile killed, but are pre-empted by a deadly domestic dispute involving Richie and Janice.
  • Tony Soprano and Paulie Walnuts agree to have Big Pussy whacked if they found out he was wearing a wire for sure.
  • Ralph Cifaretto beats his pregnant girlfriend Tracee, a Bing dancer, to death in the parking lot just outside the building.
  • Johnny Sack informs Tony that he is prepared to reconcile with Ralph following an insult to Sack's wife, in turn allowing Tony to cancel a planned hit on him.
  • Christopher Moltisanti threatens Tony with a gun for allegedly having an affair with his fiancĂ©e, but he has already emptied his gun of bullets by shooting Tony's old SUV in the parking lot, a burgundy 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, which Tony presumably is back to driving since totaling his black Escalade.
  • Tony makes the case for not killing Vito Spatafore over his homosexuality to Silvio and Carlo Gervasi.
  • Paulie has a vision of the Virgin Mary hovering over the dance floor and reconciles with his aunt and adoptive mother Marianucci.
  • Silvio Dante is shot several times in the parking lot on an ordered hit from Phil Leotardo. Patsy Parisi accompanies Sil, but flees on foot. Silvio is hospitalized in critical condition.
  • Matthew Bevilaqua and Sean Gismonte desperately and unsuccessfully try to gain the attention of Tony Soprano, angering him by openly boasting of criminal activities in his presence in the washroom.
  • Silvio Dante arrives at the club to open it in the morning and finds Christopher Moltisanti, coming down from a heroin binge vomiting heavily in the toilet, his hair in the toilet water. He later brings this up at Christopher's rehabilitation intervention.

The proof is in the PDF: Birth certificate proves Kardashian - West daughter named North West

A picture is worth a thousand words, and in this techie-age, so is a PDF document. The proof is in the pudding: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West indeed named their baby daughter North, as was reported on Thursday.

TMZ and people both reported on the name, with People citing a source, and TMZ saying they had a copy of the PDF document. They apparently do, as they uploaded a copy to the Internet on Friday.

The birth certificate was signed only by Kim Kardashian, for those interested in doing North's astrological birth chart, the birth certificate gives the time of birth as 5:34 a.m. on June 15. It was filed in Los Angeles County.

(Speaking of horoscopes we went on the Web to find one of those free reading sites, and received a life destiny reading sample for North. It can be read here.)

Apparently North has no middle name, either. Seriously, how about By North as a middle name (North By North West).

North was about five weeks premature and weighed just short of 5 lbs.  No official announcement of her name has been made yet.

Bieber's BFFs Lil Za and Lil Twist caught speeding through The Oaks in his cars

Do you wonder if all the horror stories about Justin Bieber and his posse racing through his gated Calabasas community are true? Do you wonder just how terror-filled they are for innocent bystanders? A video released by TMZ on Friday shows it is pretty darn scary when Bieber or his friends race through the area.

This incident occurred on Thursday inside Bieber's exclusive and gated Calabasas community, the Oaks. One of the other residents witnessed Bieber's BFFs Lil Za and Lil Twist racing around in two of Bieber's cars, a black Range Rover and the infamous white Ferrari.

The two cars can be seen stopped in front of the camerawoman, one of them position in the oncoming traffic lane. The woman passes them, but the two Bieber BFFs speed up and pass her at speeds well in excess of the 25 MPH speed limit.

The incident reaches its climax when the cars reach one of the gates in the community. Lil Za gets out of his car and confronts the woman. While she says he's not a resident of the community, he rebuts that, saying "I live with Justin Bieber and you know I do."

He then adds, "F**k you. Get the f**k out of here."

Bieber, meanwhile, was in Miami to watch game seven of the 2013 NBA Championship (won by the Heat, FYI).

What's interesting is that several commenting on the story defended Za and Twist. They said that the woman was obviously trying to get a rise out of them.

Lydia Forson, for example, said (in part): "This lady clearly wanted a reaction out of them, and wanted to push them to the limit. Even how she said "did you get that " at the end was a give away. It's sad when adults do this."

Heather Dawn replied, "I felt the same way, she was trying to get a reaction out of him. I knew when she said 'you are not a resident' she was trying to start something."

Most, however were in the anti-Za and Twist -- and anti-Bieber camp.

Pamela Goodman said: "For crying out loud people...she was completely within her rights to record them because they were breaking the law. These punks act like they are 'entitled' simply because they live with Justin Bieber? Justin needs to lock up the keys to his vehicles before these punks hurt someone."

Dave Lockard wrote: "Dirt bag punks. No respect for the neighbors. They make Beiber look like a moron. 2 years from now they'll be broke, in jail, and wondering why."

Kim and Kanye go in an interesting 'direction' with their daughter's name: Report

Those wondering if the name of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter would follow the Kardashian "tradition" of K names may be surprised -- or not -- at the rumored name choice by the couple. There were reports in March that the couple could be going this "way," directionally that is. Reports from both TMZ and People late Thursday said the baby's name would be North.

That's right, North West.

While rumors that the name North had been chosen arose about three months ago, Kardashian had -- at the time -- been quick to quash the rumors. It's possible, though, that she and Kanye then said "Hey, that's not a bad idea!" It's unclear if the rumor is valid; there is still no official confirmation from the celebrity couple.

News of the name came bidirectionally, as an inside source relayed the baby name news to People. Meanwhile, TMZ said they managed to get a copy of the newborn's Cedars-Sinai hospital birth certificate, which allegedly bears the name.

On the other hand, the couple could have named the baby South West, which is an airline, or East West (ugh). West West is definitedly out, so North West was probably the least irritating name possible.

Still, one has to imagine that North will face some heckling in school. Oh, what are we thinking; considering the wealth of her family, there's no doubt she'll go to the best place imaginable.

Miley Cyrus 'We Can't Stop' video makes us wish she would

Miley Cyrus can't stop -- we suppose she can't stop a lot of things -- that includes, of course, her new video for her latest single, "We Can't Stop," which she released on Wednesday.

As of mid-afternoon Pacific Time on Thursday, the video had surpassed seven million views.

The problem is, the video is par for the course, nowadays. It's bizarre, and doesn't really do justice to the song -- or maybe it does.

Among the stranger things seen in the video:

Miley Cyrus seemingly inserting, then showing off some gold teeth.

Miley showing us a lot of tongue (we don't mean tongue in terms of tongue action with say, Rihanna).

Miley partying with a bunch of dancers, all wearing oversized stuffed bear backpacks.

Fingers getting cut off with pink goo "bleeding" from them.

Let's not forget the twerking and making out with Barbie in a pool.

Seriously, gone are the days of "Thriller" or "Billie Jean" videos. Say what you will about Michael Jackson, but some of those videos are classics.

Watch the "We Can't Stop" video below; it will be three and a half minutes you won't get back.

Paula Deen plays the age card as an excuse using the 'n word'

"I'm old." More or less, that's the excuse given by reps of celebrity chef Paula Deen on Thursday, to explain her use of the "n word."

The news broke on Wednesday. Deen had, during a deposition in connection with a pending sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former employee who claims she was subjected to a barrage of racist, sexist and generally inappropriate comments while she worked at Paula's Oyster House restaurant in Georgia, admitted to using the "n word."

Lisa Jackson, who used to manage that restaurant, which is run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers, sued them last year for $1.2 million, claiming Deen used the N-word around her and that she was sexually harassed by Hiers.

Paula Deen Enterprises issued the following statement to TMZ:
During a deposition where she swore to tell the truth, Ms. Deen recounted having used a racial epithet in the past, speaking largely about a time in American history which was quite different than today.

(To be clear, it was 1986, not the Civil War).

[Paula] was born 60 years ago when America's South had schools that were segregated, different bathrooms, different restaurants and Americans rode in different parts of the bus. This is not today.

To be clear Ms. Deen does not find acceptable the use of this term under any circumstance by anyone nor condone any form of racism or discrimination.
A poll at TMZ says (59 percent to 41 percent) that "old people can be racist."

What isn't clear is whether or not that poll is asking if yes, old people have more of a tendency to be racist, or if it is asking if it's OK if old people are racist (because of Deen's reasons).

During the deposition, Deen also admitted to loving the presentation at a restaurant where:
The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie.

I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America…after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War ... It was not only black men, it was black women ... I would say they were slaves.

Kate Upton, in video, topless on a horse: Despite being censored, what more could you ask for?

Despite being censored, a video of Kate Upton riding topless on a horse has gone viral, since being posted on Wednesday.

The video was taken during a recent modeling shoot. Upton begins the session fully clothed, with a zip down top, some sort of wraparound bottom, and the requisite bra and bikini bottoms. Although Upton begins the session trying to keep her breasts covered with her hands, she soon realizes, there's just no way to hide those babies.

Eventually, she is forced to release them, set them free. Although the video is censored, it's reportedly that once uncovered, her "girls" are everything that Upton fans hoped -- and expected -- them to be.

Indeed, despite being semi-rhetorical, the question of "what more could you ask for?" can be answered by saying, "an uncensored version."

While we can't show that, you can see the reaction of TMZ staffers to the uncensored video below. It is priceless.

Watch both videos.

Casting details leak for 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

Casting details have emerged for the yet unnamed "Star Wars: Episode VII," and although the casting call, revealed on Wednesday, doesn't confirm whether or not the original "Star Wars" cast will appear, it does offer possible insight into the story that is being considered for the sequel.
  • A young man aged between 20 and 25, witty and smart, fit but not classically handsome.
  • Man in late twenties, also fit, but this one is handsome and confident.
  • Late teenage girl, independent, good sense of humor, also ... physically fit.
  • Second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and physically fit.
  • Man in his forties, obviously physically fit, this one is a military type.
  • A man of around thirty or so, this one is an intellectual type.
  • Finally, a guy aged around seventy, strong opinions and tough.
You'll see physical fitness is important for many of the roles, although the word "ripped" doesn't appear anywhere. The final role mentioned, with someone aged around seventy, would fit Harrison Ford to a tee, if he doesn't appear as Han Solo, that is.

That is the big question, of course. Will Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill reprise their roles as Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker, respectively? It's been rumored and strongly hinted at by Fisher and Hamill, but not confirmed by the studio.

The sequel is slated to begin filming in early 2014, with a release to theaters in 2015, per Disney's original announcement of its LucasFilm acquisition. It's expected to focus on youth, with a new generation of protagonists and antagonists.

It's not expected to follow the official sequel novels.

Royal protocol laid out as date of birth for William and Kate's baby nears

Although their baby's gender is still a secret and unknown, some information about the royal heir that Kate Middleton -- or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge -- and Prince William are expecting leaked out on Wednesday.

The family plans to have the birth occur in the same hospital wing where Prince William was born to Diana, Princess of Wales, nearly 31 years ago, according to anonymous sources familiar with the plans. The birth will take place in the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, west London. In addition, the sources gave the media a glimpse of the royal protocol surrounding the event.

According to the royal sources, the first news that the baby is arriving will be an announcement to the media that the Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to the hospital in the early stages of labor. The next public announcement is expected to be that of the birth.

The announcement will come in the form of a formal bulletin, signed by medical staff which will then speed -- in a car with a police escort -- to Buckingham Palace. The notice will then be placed on an easel on the palace forecourt.

This will be the first chance for the nation -- and those watching around the world -- to discover the new baby's sex. Prince William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, along other members of both families will be told of the birth, including the baby's gender, prior to the public announcement. The next announcement will occur when the Duchess of Cambridge and child are discharged from the hospital.

The couple's first child will, regardless of gender, be in line for the British throne. The baby will be third in line to the throne after Prince Charles and Prince William. This changed in 2011. Prior to the amending of the rules of succession, if the couple were to have a daughter first, then a son, the son would have a higher rank in terms of succession.

All this changed at an October 2011 meeting of the leaders of 16 Commonwealth countries in Perth, Australia, where they unanimously agreed to amend the succession rules.

New TWA Flight 800 documentary asserts additional evidence shows 'external detonation'

The co-producer of an upcoming TV documentary film about TWA Flight 800 defended the film on Wednesday, saying that there was "solid proof that there was an external detonation." The film, titled simply "TWA Flight 800," will premiere on EPIX TV on July 17.

It's a theory that has long been posited, that TWA Flight 800 was brought down by a missile. All 230 people aboard the 1996 flight died when the plane, headed for Paris, exploded and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean shortly after takeoff from John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Early suspicions were that terrorists had hit the plane with a missile, after a number of witnesses said that they saw a streak of light and a fireball during the incident. Although even in 1996 there were shoulder-fired missile available, investigators later concluded after an intensive probe of four years that the streak was likely burning fuel streaming from the plane's wing tank.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) concluded that the explosion the result of an electrical short, most likely originating in a fuel gauge line, which it detonated fuel vapors in the center wing fuel tank, causing the 747 to explode and fall into the waters off Long Island.

Co-producer Tom Stalcup told CNN's New Day:
Of course, everyone knows about the eyewitness statements, but we also have corroborating information from the radar data, and the radar data shows a(n) asymmetric explosion coming out of that plane -- something that didn't happen in the official theory.

The family members need to know what happened to their loved ones.
In addition to Stalcup's statements, six retired members of the original investigation team filed a petition Wednesday to reopen the probe.

Jim Speer, an accident investigator for the Air Line Pilots Association and one of those seeking a new review of the probe said:
We don't know who fired the missile, but we have a lot more confidence that it was a missile.
In addition to theories over a shoulder-fired missile, there have also been some that posited that it was an error by U.S. military forces that was covered up. In one particularly famous example, Pierre Salinger, who was Press Secretary for President John Kennedy and later a reporter for ABC News, claimed he'd seen proof that the U.S. Navy shot down the plane and then covered it up.

John Goglia, a member of the five-person NTSB team assembled during the investigation, was adamant that the NTSB's report was complete, truthful, and accurate. He said he "took offense" at the documentary's suggestion that NTSB team members ignored evidence.
I would never be part of any coverup -- period.

This accident, this (NTSB) report, over 50,000 pages, if you take and just look at certain pieces of it, you can move the cause of this accident any way you want. You can take just the radar; you can say it was a missile. You have to take all of the pieces and look at them as a whole.

The sequencing report that told how the airplane fell apart, none of it supports a missile -- none of it. When you look at the physical evidence inside the tank, it's clear that there was an explosion inside the tank. If the top of the tank goes up and the bottom of the tank goes down, and the forward side goes forward and the back of the tank goes back, that tells you that the blast was inside the tank -- not outside.
Speaking of the petition to reopen the investigation, NTSB spokeswoman Kelly Nantel said:
As required by NTSB regulation, a petition for reconsideration of Board findings or a probable cause determination must be based on the discovery of new evidence or on a showing that the Board's findings are erroneous.

We assign petition responses to the relevant modal office for drafting. The NTSB's Office of Aviation Safety will assign staff, to the maximum extent practicable, who did not work on the original investigation to carefully prepare a response. The response will be presented to the full Board for their consideration and vote.
While not speaking of the merits of the documentary, Nantel left open the possibility that the case could be reopened.
