A prepubescent Kirsten Dunst found Brad Pitt's kiss to be 'disgusting'

The headline sounds like a blockbuster, but the truth of the matter is it's not such a big deal, after all. Although it's true that Kirsten Dunst said on Thursday that her "Interview with a Vampire" kiss with co-star Brad Pitt was "disgusting," one has to remember she was only 11 at the time.

The kiss was Dunst's first-ever. While everyone else seemed to think that she was lucky, at the time, Dunst wasn't enamored with her then 30-year-old co-star.
It was just a peck. Everyone at the time was like, "You're so lucky you kissed Brad Pitt," but I thought it was disgusting. I didn't kiss anyone else until I was 16, I think. I was a late bloomer.
Pitt starred as vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac in the 1994 film. Dunst played Claudia, a young girl who had become a vampire. Pitt was rumored to be dating fellow "Interview" co-star Thandie Newton at the time.

The pair's connection in the movie is described as follows, by Wikipedia:
Wandering the streets of New Orleans, amidst an outbreak of plague, Louis finds a sick child in a house with her dead mother. He bites the girl, Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), whom Lestat later transforms into a vampire "daughter", to discourage Louis from leaving him. Lestat teaches Claudia to live as a vampire and prey on humans.
It is doubtful that Pitt's current paramour and longtime love Angelina Jolie would agree with Dunst. He and Jolie have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Of those, the latter three were conceived together, while the first three were adopted.

Justin Bieber says no threats, no spitting in incident with neighbor

Justin Bieber's neighbor has been adamant on the issue: On Tuesday, the pop superstar threatened him and spat on him. Bieber, though, is equally adamant, with a Wednesday report citing sources close to the singer saying he he never spat or threatened to kill anyone during the heated incident.

While the 19-year-old isn't denying that he confronted his neighbor when he came onto Bieber's Calabasas, Calif., property on Tuesday morning, and that the argument grew intense, he continues to claim that the argument never became physical.

The argument ensued after Bieber's Ferrari arrived on a flatbed truck at around 8:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday. Bieber decided to take the car for a test drive in the gated community. A number of neighbors said Bieber was driving dangerously fast, with the neighbor directly involved in the incident -- who races cars for a hobby -- saying it was as fast as 100 mph.

Not only does Bieber's camp believe the neighbor was trespassing during the incident -- which he may have been, based on the letter of the law -- the singer is also saying that he never spat or threatened the neighbor with any harm.

At the same time, though, while spitting may seem to some to be a relatively small crime, prosecutors in the Los Angeles County D.A.'s office regard spitting crimes as serious for two reasons: First, it is considered a "disgusting act" and extremely aggressive, and second, it poses potential health concerns.

Bieber's neighbor continues to say that he wants the singer prosecuted and will fully cooperate with authorities.

Report: Justin Bieber's battery incident involved spitting in neighbor's face

Now we know the nature of the "battery" report that was made about an incident between Justin Bieber and one of his neighbors. The incident occurred Tuesday, with more details leaking out on Wednesday.

Earlier, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said that the battery allegedly perpetrated by Bieber could be anything from just grazing an elbow to spitting. It was spitting.

Law enforcement and other neighbors reported that Bieber spat in the still-unnamed man's face during a heated argument on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, Bieber's Ferrari arrived on a flatbed truck at around 8:00 a.m. PDT and Bieber decided to take it for a test drive in the gated community. A number of neighbors said Bieber was driving dangerously fast, with the neighbor directly involved in the incident saying it was as fast as 100 mph.

The man, who is a 5'7", 135 pound, 47-year-old successful businessman and father of three went onto Bieber's Calabasas property and screamed at the pop superstar, "You can't drive like this!" The man told deputies that Bieber responded by saying, "Get the f*ck out of here." He then spat in the man's face and said, "I'm gonna f*cking kill you."

The man filed a battery report said that he wants Bieber prosecuted.

Members of Bieber's security team said there was no physical contact between the singer and the neighbor which -- technically -- would be the case even if the spitting act took place. However, based on what Whitmore said earlier, it would still be misdemeanor simple battery.

According to lawqa.com, this type of battery could carry from six months to a year in jail, but with a first offense, it would probably have minimal time if any.

Considering some of Bieber's latest actions, though, a bigger question than how much time he might serve is does the 19-year-old need anger management classes?

Roland Emmerich reveals details of the two-part 'Independence Day' sequel

As the two-decade anniversary of "Independence Day" (also known as "ID4") closes in, closes in, fans can finally rejoice. On Tuesday, Roland Emmerich, who directed the original, spilled the details on the upcoming dual sequels.

The sequels will be called "ID Forever Part I" and "ID Forever Part II." Emmerich said he and Independence Day co-writer Dean Devlin have completed a pair of scripts, and have given them to "White House Down" writer-producer James Vanderbilt for a rewrite.

The sequels take place -- appropriately enough -- 20 years after the first film. In the new films, a distress call sent by the first wave of aliens finally brings reinforcements to Earth. Emmerich said,
The humans knew that one day the aliens would come back. And they know that the only way you can really travel in space is through wormholes. So for the aliens, it could take two or three weeks, but for us that’s 20 or 25 years.
In this new future, humans are using the technology they have recovered from the felled alien ships. However, because it’s organically-grown technology, we can't create new versions of the technology. We can take, for example, take an antigravity device and put it in a human airplane, but we can't build a new antigravity device.

Bill Pullman is reportedly signed to reprise his role as (now ex-) President Whitmore, but star Will Smith has not signed up to return as Captain Steven Hiller. The film will, instead, follow that character's stepson, Dylan, in addition to a number of new, younger characters.

Emmerich promised that "ID Forever Part I" will have a cliffhanger ending to encourage audiences to return for "Part II." The hope is that the movie won't end on a downer like "The Empire Strikes Back." Emmerich gives the impression that it will not.
It’s still some of the same characters, but also new younger characters; it’s a little bit like the sons take over. The first one (sequel) ends on a little success, but only enough to give the humans hope. And then in the second one they free themselves again [from the aliens].
With 20 years of Earth time separating the sequels from the original film, humanity has had time to rebuild. Strangely, since with the wormholes involved the aliens have had only weeks, not years, the aliens will have tricks up their sleeves that humanity must adapt to. We'll assume that by now the aliens have started using Norton Antivirus.

Emmerich said,
We’ve rebuilt. But [the aliens] also do different things.

Former 'Downton Abbey' actress says regrets earlier topless scene

Former "Downton Abbey" actress Jessica Brown Findlay has admitted regretting something that many a young actress has regretting: her first nude scene. The 23-year-old doffed her top for the movie "Albatross" but said on Tuesday that she did so out of naivete.

The scene, shown in censored form in the trailer below, wasn't a sex scene, but it was Findlay's second project and her first movie.
To be honest, "Albatross" was naivete and not knowing that I could say no ... I had no idea what was going to happen and thought I was going to be shot from behind. It’s not something I would do again.
Findlay said however, that she is not averse to future nude scenes. Rather, she just now knows she can say no when she desires. In the mini-series "Labyrinth," the actress has a very brief nude scene.
In Labyrinth, it is a very fleeting moment that we shot in one take, but I did find it very odd being naked in front of lots of people.
Findlay is best known for her role as Lady Sybil Branson née Crawley on "Downton Abbey" during series 1–3 (20 episodes).

When asked why she left the show during the middle of series three, she said it was to exit her comfort zone.
I didn’t want to fall into my comfort zone too much. My contract was ending, and I was unsure about signing away another year. Leaving terrified me, and that’s what made me want to do it.

Neighbors claim Justin Bieber raced through neighborhood at 100 mph on Tuesday

Justin Bieber's alleged case of battery against a male neighbor wasn't over heavy-duty partying at his house, as had been reported on Tuesday. Instead, a Wednesday report indicates it's all about Bieber and his fast cars.

Reportedly -- and the information comes from multiple neighbors, not just the one from the Tuesday incident -- Bieber drives through the neighborhood apeeds estimated to be near 100 mph. Consider the stable of fast cars Bieber has, including a Fisker Karma (recently wrecked by Lil Twist) and a Ferrari.

Tuesday's heated incident at his exclusive gated community in Calabasas, Calif., led to one of Bieber's neighbor's filing a battery report. While Bieber's security team said the neighbor was upset about parties that were thrown at Beiber's digs while he was performing in Europe, neighbors gave a very different story.

The neighbor who confronted Bieber on Tuesday told Sheriff's deputies that the singer was driving "unbelievably recklessly" through the neighborhood in his Ferrari. The neighbor, who races cars for a hobby, estimated that the pop superstar was driving at approximately 100 mph.

The wife of the still-unnamed man said:
He (Bieber) was speeding through the neighborhood, driving erratically, like he was on a racetrack. We have families here. No sidewalks. This behavior is totally unacceptable.

My husband went up to him to have a civil conversation. But apparently Justin Bieber had a hard time being told to slow down.
The neighbor probably wouldn't have overpowered Bieber at any rate. He is reported to be only 5'7" and 135 pounds.

Although the neighbor wanted a battery report taken, it's not clear how severe that battery was.

Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said,
Allegedly, there was a battery perpetrated by Mr. Bieber on this neighbor, as well as some threats made by Mr. Bieber. Right now it’s a misdemeanor simple battery, which is unwanted touching.

It could be anything from grazing an elbow, patting on the back ... It could be spitting.

Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian consider legal action after 'disgusting' Ford ad

The Kardashian clan -- or a subset of them, meaning Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim -- are considering legal action against Ford, after a Ford Figo ad campaign mock-up made its way onto the Internet last week. The report of the trio's legal mulling came on Tuesday.

The problem with the ad, which has been called a number of things, but none of them good, is that it features caricatures of the three Kardashian sisters in bound, gagged and disheveled in the back seat of a Figo. Meanwhile fellow celebrity-who-is-famous-for-being-famous Paris Hilton winks at them from the passenger seat of the car.

Two similar ads were leaked including one showing former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi posing with a peace sign in the front seat of a vehicle, as three scantily-clad, disgruntled women are bound in the back of the vehicle. The women were later identified by La Repubblica as the women at the heart of the Berlusconi sex scandal.

Two apologies have already been issued. Ford apologized in a statement to CNBC:
We deeply regret this incident and agree with our agency partners that it should have never happened. The posters are contrary to the standards of professionalism and decency within Ford and our agency partners. Together with our partners, we are reviewing approval and oversight processes to help ensure nothing like this ever happens again.
WPP Group, which is the parent company of the ad agency responsible for the cartoons, also apologized and claimed that these mocked-up ads were never intended for the public:
We deeply regret the publishing of posters that were distasteful and contrary to the standards of professionalism and decency within WPP Group. These posters were never intended for paid publication and should never have been created, let alone uploaded to the Internet. This was the result of individuals acting without proper oversight and appropriate actions have been taken within the agency where they work to deal with the situation.
An attorney for the Kardashian family called the ads "disgusting, vile and offensive to all women." The lawyer added that the Kardashians ...
do not take this lightly and they are exploring all of their legal options. It is unacceptable that Ford would align itself with an ad agency that would so carelessly release these ads.

Bryan Cranston's 911 call released for 'Breaking Bad' script theft case

The 911 call that alerted authorities that -- horror of horrors -- one of scripts for the final season of AMC's hit series "Breaking Bad" had been stolen was released on Tuesday. The 911 call came from series star Bryan Cranston, who plays the protagonist, Walter White.

In the audio (embedded), Cranston -- calling mere minutes after the theft took place -- tells the 911 dispatcher, "I need to report a breaking and entering into my vehicle."

Police have confirmed that they have a suspect in custody, Xavier McAfee. While McAfee has been arrested for the crime, he has not offered up any of the stolen goods.

He has not leaked the script yet, either. Charles Baker, who plays Skinny Pete on the hit show about meth dealers, wants it to stay that way. He sent the following message for McAfee: "You have the choice to be a better person than that. You've already made a choice to steal from a person (Bryan Cranston) who is loved by millions of people ... don't make it worse by betraying the rest of the cast and crew and fellow fans of the show."

Listen the Cranston's 911 call.

Justin Bieber investigated after neighbor files battery report

Did Justin Bieber's recent and near attack on a paparazzo signal an anger management issue? A report issued on Tuesday might be an indicator, as TMZ reported that the authorities are investigating Bieber for possible battery.

Bieber, 19, and one of his male neighbors in Calabasas, Calif., had a verbal spat just after 9 a.m. PDT. Reportedly, the argument became intense.

L.A. County Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore said that the neighbor told deputies that Bieber made physical contact with him and he has filed a battery report. He also claims Bieber threatened him.

From the other side of the aisle, sources connected to Bieber's security team said gave a different story. They said that the neighbor came onto Bieber's property and began screaming that while Bieber was away on his tour, there were people at the home throwing loud parties.

While the sources confirmed that Bieber told them man to get off of his property, they insist the pop superstar did not make physical contact with him. Instead, they say that Bieber went back inside his house while members of his security team escorted the neighbor off his property.

The Sheriff's Dept. is investigating, but a second source, speaking to HollywoodLife.com, said that there was no truth to the claims that Bieber assaulted his neighbor. The second source reiterated that Bieber did not make physical contact with his neighbor.

The source said, “Justin’s neighbor saw he was home briefly, so he approached him about the parties. They only spoke briefly and Justin told him to get off the property.”

Middle school zombie survival class axed

As "The Walking Dead" approaches its season three finale "Welcome to the Tombs," next Sunday, March 31, what better time to launch an extracurricular zombie survival course. Unfortunately, as reported on Monday, it was also shut down rather quickly.

Social studies teacher Rich Harshberger at Armand Larive Middle School in Hermiston, Ore., offered an extracurricular class in zombie survival skills. Once the Hermiston School District found out, though, the die (pun intended) was cast. The course was popular, which led to its demise; the superintendent only found out about the class after its popularity led to a local news story (subscription required).

It's unclear what exactly was being taught at the class, but reportedly head shots and more were not. Still, concerns arose about students possibly being exposed to weapons and violence, so the class was canceled and replaced with an exploratory reading course instead.

Harshberger said:
It's gotten kids engaged that I wouldn't have gotten engaged before.
There was -- perhaps surprisingly -- a lot of reading and writing in the class, with students being required to keep survival journals, and "The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead" was a required text.

It's unclear if it was a requirement that students watch "The Walking Dead," but it's doubtful, considering the show's TV-14 rating, which some consider too soft.

New 'World War Z' trailer: Can Brad Pitt beat these fast-moving zombies?

Paramount Pictures released a new full-length trailer for "World War Z" on Monday. The two-and-a-half minute long trailer shows plenty of zombie-riffic mayhem, as the Brad Pitt-starring adaptation of the Max Brooks best-selling novel "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War."

Brooks’ novel takes a unique approach to the material. It is a collection of individual accounts about the zombie war in the form of first-person anecdotes. The film, instead, focuses on Brad Pitt's character, Gerry Lane, who is a worker at the United Nations. Lane scours the world for information that can stop the zombie outbreak that is bringing down the nations of the world.

These zombies aren't the slow, shambling ones from "The Walking Dead" or other well-known traditional zombie fare. Instead, they are swift.

Apparently, the outbreak is closed-ended. They have only 90 days to stop the zombie apocalypse, and the question is, how? This isn't a series like "The Walking Dead" where we will probably never see the zombie outbreak halted. According to the new trailer, though, something in Russia may hold the key.

In the trailer, as Lane says "I think these things have a weakness," once the final word is uttered, the trailer shows a boy crouching as zombies run past him, paying him no mind even as they destroy everything else in their path. So, are these things like a T-Rex in "Jurassic Park," where you are safe if you don't move?

We have to wait until the film's June 21 release to find out.

'This Sorrowful Life' and Merle's redemption: 'The Walking Dead'

You'll recall that Rick was given an offer by the Governor two episodes ago, and in the penultimate episode of the season, it seems that two episodes = two days. It's time for the deal to be rejected or agreed to, and in Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead," "This Sorrowful Life," it looked like the offer was going to be completed.

Rick decided to expand his "inner circle" to include Daryl and Merle (he had told Herschel at the end of "Arrow on the Doorpost"). Merle, though, when Rick opened up to him, predicted correctly that Rick wouldn't be able to go through with the deal.

Remember that no one in Rick's team is aware of the Governor's plan to slaughter not just Michonne, but Rick and group.

Merle isn't aware of it either, but he is aware that Rick won't go along with the deal, so he decides to take action. He invites Michonne to help him clear out some zombies. Of course, being the suspicious character she has been all through her time on the series, she readily agrees to do so.

She even turns her back on Merle. Naturally, she does so because they are being attacked by zombies, but that is beside the point. The Michonne we've seen so far this season wouldn't have so easily gone along with Merle.

Anyway, once she turned her back, he cold-clocked her.

On the way to the meeting, Michonne and Merle bonded further, and eventually, we saw Merle's redemption. He let Michonne go, and decided to Pied Piper some zombie distractions into the meeting using the car's radio. It worked well, and Merle was doing an excellent job of picking off Woodbury survivors. Merle even had the Governor in his sights, but another survivor gets in the way.

So close -- but so far.

He never got another chance, as a zombie nearly got him. However, he lost his cover, and although the zombie didn't chew on him, the Governor did, biting off his fingers before finally shooting him.

The Governor killed Merle, but Daryl had to re-kill him. He went looking for his brother, and he found him, but zombified. Daryl was forced to end Merle forever, himself. To be clear, it was sad; we had just started to like Merle.

There were two smaller plotlines. In one, Rick told the rest of the group about the offer from the Governor. Granted, he didn't know that Merle had taken off with Michonne. He told them what he had planned to do with Michonne, but that he realized it was wrong. He then said that he is the dictatorship which was created at the end of Season Two. He said, “We are the greater good. We’re the reason we’re still here, not me.”

In the second smaller plotline, Glenn asked Herschel for Maggie's hand in marriage, which as most figured based on Herschel's past accolades about Glenn, was forthcoming. The "Walking Dead" style oddness to the matter was how he got a ring for Maggie: Glenn cut off a zombie's fingers to get his new bride a ring.

Next week is the final episode of Season Three. What now, for our group? The series doesn't always follow the comics, so we'll see where we end up with a long wait until Season Four.

Lockdown rehab for Lohan reportedly fictional; prosecutors reevaluate plea deal

An earlier report seemed to indicate that Lindsay Lohan couldn't complete her lockdown rehab stint in New York State, because it didn't exist there. It turns out, though, according to a new report issued Monday, that she can't get lockdown rehab anywhere: It can't be found anywhere.

According to sources connected with the case, Lohan's new lawyer, Mark Heller, told prosecutors he could get his client into a 90-day lockdown rehab center in New York City, and the California prosecutors and judge agreed to that stipulation. However, there are no private New York rehab centers that prevent patients from leaving, except for one that is connected with the prison system. That one, Willard Drug Treatment Campus, which is operated by New York's Department of Correctional Services in collaboration with the Division of Parole, requires a prior felony for a patient's admission.

Lohan doesn't have a prior felony.

Dr. Drew Pinsky of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" (among other shows) said,
There is no rehab that will hold you against your will, unless they feel the person is a suicide risk, and in that case they can hold the individual for 72 hours.
The National Opiate Hotline, however, disputes that, saying that:
The additional option is some sort of lockdown rehabilitation treatment facility. Here, individuals will also be admitted voluntarily , but for an arranged length of time and when they enter in therapy, they are not able to leave before the decided time frame has lapsed.

The bonus here is that people who seem to understand their own individual weak spots and know they shall be inclined to run whenever matters get hard don’t have that alternative. It can be a good solution for a person who may have completed the one month treatment method previously and relapsed or even left prior to finishing it.
Assuming there is no actual lockdown rehab, the big problem is that Lohan's actual sentence is 90 days in jail, but the judge said he would allow her to complete it in a lockdown rehab facility.

Past history has shown that Lohan isn't averse to sneaking out of facilities. She frequently snuck out of Cirque Lodge in Utah and reportedly did the same thing at the Betty Ford Center in California. In the latter case, upon her return from her night out, a counselor and Lohan scuffled. The Betty Ford employee later sued Lohan and the case was settled out of court last year.

Apparently, prosecutors are reevaluating the plea deal to determine what options they have. Sending Lohan to jail is apparently still an option, but that might result in an early release for the troubled actress.

Lindsay Lohan paying nothing for Mark Heller's legal representation: Michael Lohan

It turns out that -- as suspected -- Lindsay Lohan is paying nothing for the services of her new lawyer, Mark Heller. The information came via Lohan's father Michael on Friday.

It's not completely what was posited before, though. In that case, it was thought Heller would do the job gratis because of the publicity it would give him. However, it seems that he is charging Lohan, but energy drink maker Mr. Pink is picking up the tab.

It's still not that simple, according to Michael Lohan:
I found out that the reason Lindsay kept Heller on, is because Michael Heller arranged for Mr. Pink to pay Mark Heller to represent her.
Michael Heller is her lawyer’s son and the person who has been helping her book appearances, so the facts just get more and more complex. Mr. Pink also supplied that private jet that almost got Lohan to her March 18 court date on time (she was 40 minutes late).

Michael Lohan went further, saying:
This was a business deal for the Hellers, not a case of proper legal representation. They played Lindsay like a puppet on a string like they do everyone.
As reported earlier, Lindsay Lohan, 26, owes her former lawyer Shawn Holley $300,000 in unpaid legal bills, so the offer of free representation had to be greeted with a smile.

More from Michael Lohan:
She used Heller because she got paid to be represented, while having all her expenses paid for and then being told by her attorney that she had deals, like house arrest that were never even an option. Instead, it was all just bait to keep the Hellers on board.

Michael Heller arranged to use Lindsay’s court case to endorse Mr. Pink. Lindsay got paid, Michael Heller got his cut and Mark Heller, daddy dearest, got paid too.

Kate Upton booty slapped by Flo Rida: Watch it

Since when does a technology conference become the stuff of celebrity headlines? Since Kate Upton showed up at the Samsung Spring 2013 Launch Party at the Museum of American Finance in New York City on Wednesday, and had a spankin' good time with Flo Rida.

Flo Rida took the stage to perform, and Kate Upton joined him in a sexy blue dress. If that's not enough to make a technology conference exciting, we don't know what is. On the chorus to Flo Rida's hit track "Low," the hip-hop star rapped his famous lyrics "She turned around and gave that big booty a smack," and Upton, this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover model, obliged (as can be seen in the embedded video).

In addition to Flo Rida and Upton, other celebrities appeared at the show, demonstrating various functions of Samsung's latest TVs. Among the hardware shown off was the F8000 LED TV. That model drew attention for its gesture control features which enable users to operate the television or zoom in and out and rotate photos simply by speaking to it.

Another celebrity at the show was Super Bowl XLVI MVP Eli Manning, who led the New York Giants to victory over the New England Patriots in the 2012 game.

Leno to lose time slot despite winning in key ratings categories

Jay Leno is winning his late time slot, yet despite that, he's going to lose his post as the "Tonight Show" host, according to a Wednesday report in the New York Times. The NYT report rehashes some of the information in earlier reports, but goes further, saying that the "Tonight Show" will move back to New York City.

Among the rumors is the reason for the move: NBC hopes that Jimmy Fallon will be able to better compete with Jimmy Kimmel for the key 18-49 demographic. Which, of course, means that Jay Leno is losing among those viewers. Or is he?

Actually, Leno is winning.

Since Kimmel moved to 11:35 p.m. in January, he, Leno and David Letterman have been in direct competition. Since then, Leno has averaged 3.53 million total viewers, compared to 3.1 million for Letterman, and only 2.64 million for Kimmel.

What about the key 18-49 demographic? Kimmel shifts to no. two, but still trails Leno. Leno has 1.02 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic, with Kimmel trailing with 936,000 and Letterman with 873,000.

And in the 25-54 demographic, which is the one most often used to rate late night audiences, Leno has 1.32 million compared to 1.21 million for Letterman and 1.2 million for Kimmel.

Reportedly, it's Kimmel's lead in the 18-34 demographic -- which could eventually move into other ranges -- that scares NBC. Kimmel has 332,000 viewers in the 18-34 demo, compared to 318,000 for Leno and 275,000 for Letterman.

It's unfair to compare Fallon to his earlier rivals, but in the 18-34 demographic, he has 293,000 viewers, which bests Letterman despite a later timeslot. In addition, in all four categories, Fallon beats his 12:35 a.m. rivals, Craig Ferguson and "Nightline."

Watch Too Short's ill-advised race to freedom, caught on video

Rapper Too Short was arrested for DUI early Wednesday morning. The embedded video shows his escape attempt, which didn't turn out very well.

The video shows a portion of the field sobriety test. Short is chatting with a couple of police officers, and then suddenly takes off (at about 25 seconds into the video). However, he trips on the sidewalk (gracefully) and is subdued quickly.

Not only was Short booked for DUI, police say they also found drugs in their -- not his -- vehicle, when they arrived at the station. For his part, Short said the following (as reported by his rep):
Short was diligently searched and cuffed prior to being placed in the disgustingly filthy patrol car.

It was 3 AM, the cop car smelled like vomit and was littered with remnants from prior arrests of the evening.
To make a long story short (no pun intended), Short was saying that the drugs -- reportedly meth or ecstasy which was possibly laced with meth -- were left in the car by the prior arrestee.

The rep also explained Short's attempted race to freedom:
In the past, Short, like many others, has been mistreated by law enforcement and these unfortunate prior incidents led to the complications after the stop.
In addition, the rep added that the idea of Short carrying any sort of powder was silly:
Any assertion that Short was carrying powder is ridiculous! Every rap fan knows Short's into weed.

Bobby Brown released from jail in a scant nine hours time

It is well-known that celebrities are often released early from jail, with the usual reason given being jail overcrowding. Past examples including Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, and yes, even Lindsay Lohan. The latest celebrity to get what some call preferential treatment was Bobby Brown, who was had been sentenced to 55 days in jail for his third DUI, but only served a grand total of nine hours in jail and was released on Wednesday.

However, while some have called the early release a "record," it was hardly such.  Nicole Richie's release took place on 82 minutes after she was placed behind bars.

Earlier, Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore had estimated the New Edition singer, 44, would spend days in jail:
The time expected, all things being equal, is about eight days. But he could get out in a matter of days and go on electronic monitoring. It’s really tough to say exactly.
Brown was sentenced in February after pleading no contest on Feb. 26, 2013 to charges he was driving under the influence with a restricted license in October of 2012.

At the time, Brown was already on probation for a similar DUI incident that had taken place in March of 2012. Ironically, he was first pulled over for allegedly using a cell phone while driving.

He is not totally free and clear, however. Brown is now on four years probation and has to attend alcohol education classes for 18 months.

The singer’s tumultuous past with substance abuse also includes a five-day stint in jail in 1996 for crashing ex-wife and the late Whitney Houston’s Porsche with a BAC measurement nearly three times the legal limit, and another jail sentence in 2000 after a court-ordered drug test showed traces of cocaine in his system.

Liam Hemsworth mum on Miley Cyrus as he returns to the U.S.

Miley Cyrus is again wearing her engagement ring, but does perhaps erstwhile fiance Liam Hemsworth care? That is the big question asked in the embedded video as Hemsworth returned to the States on Wednesday night.

Hemsworth arrived at LAX Wednesday night after a three week trip to Australia and the Philippines. He went alone, without Cyrus, on the heels of a report that he and "Mad Men's" January Jones had an affair.

When asked about January Jones and Miley Cyrus' reappearing engagement ring, Hemsworth remained mum. He neither acknowledged the presence of the paparazzi nor the questions.

Hemsworth was seen in the back of a vehicle, apparently with January Jones, and without Cyrus anywhere in sight. Another report said that Hemsworth and Jones were seen making out at a Hollywood party.

Synopsis of 'Transformers 4' revealed

The highly anticipated -- though originally unexpected -- "Transformers 4" film has found its home. The Michigan Film Office said on Wednesday that the movie has been approved for $20 million in incentives. It is estimated that the Michael Bay-helmed movie production will amount to $81.9 million in in-state expenditures.

The film is expected to pick up some four years after the conclusion of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" (or "Transformers 3").
In "Transformers 4," Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control -- all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his cross-hairs.

The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.
No exact date has been announced as to when "Transformers 4" filming will begin.

The still-untitled film is scheduled for a June 27, 2014 release. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor. Wahlberg will not be playing the Sam Witwicky role previously played by Shia LaBeouf, Bay announced earlier, but will instead be playing Flynn "Ray" Vincent.

According to Wikipedia, the three leads have been signed for a trio of films.

Also confirmed: Peter Cullen, the iconic voice of Optimus Prime, will reprise that role.

Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay and Steve Jablonsky will score the film. Michael Bay, of course, directs.

New 'Star Trek Into Darkness' trailer shows us a sexy Carol Marcus in

On Thursday, Paramount Pictures unveiled a new international trailer (embedded) for J.J. Abrams' upcoming blockbuster, "Star Trek Into Darkness." The over two-minute long video seems to lend us clues that lead viewers away from the popular theory that Benedict Cumberbatch's character John Harrison is Khan, but it also shows us why Carol Marcus (Alice Eve) may end up being James T. Kirk's (Chris Pine) wife in this alternate timeline.

For those wondering about that clue about Carol Marcus, check out the trailer just past the one-and-a-half minute mark.

The plot of "Star Trek Into Darkness" is still mostly under wraps, but for some time it's seemed to be a vengeance movie, and this trailer does nothing to dispel that thought. That could point to Khan, but both Alice Eve and Simon Pegg (Scotty) have said that Cumberbatch is not playing Khan.

The synopis of the film is:
After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
At the same time the studio released the new trailer, Paramount also released the new poster, shown above.

J.J. Abram's second film in the rebooted "Star Trek" film series, "Star Trek Into Darkness," is scheduled to hit IMAX 3D theaters on May 15 and conventional theaters on May 17. The highly anticipated movie stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.

Sofia Vergara is freezing her eggs for ... ?

An earlier report that said that 40-year-old "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara and 37-year-old fiance Nick Loeb were pursuing surrogacy may or may not be true, after all, but either way, on Tuesday it was revealed that the couple is seeking reassurances of a better chance for a baby, as the TV star is having her eggs frozen.

The beans were spilled during a lunch interview with Vogue, in which Vergara, already the mother of 21-year-old Manolo, from her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez, said "I have to be careful what I eat because they're freezing my eggs!"

The "Modern Family" star said she is starting a process that includes hormone pills and injections because "they want to get as many eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they're not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones. My boyfriend (Nick Loeb) is 37, younger than me, never had kids. So."

It's an ironic turn of events, since her "Modern Family" character, Gloria, has been pregnant this current season.

While Vergara didn't explain what exactly she intends to do with the frozen eggs -- they could still be bound for a surrogate, after all -- she did veer into details about her famous curves, saying:

"I mean, a normal girl will just put the dress on and leave. I need them to be like an armory. My dresses are like a work of art inside because, you know, I am 40 years old, I had a baby, and I am a 32F boob. And they (her breasts) are real still. When they are fake, you take the bra off and they are still there, perfect! Me — no, so I have to bring them up! I have to build the dresses up to here so that the bras — ach, it's a whole, der — ugh — tchah!"

Nadya Suleman faces welfare fraud investigation: Report

Nadya Suleman, also known as Octomom, may be facing prison time, if a Wednesday report proves to be accurate -- as well, of course, as the allegations.

According to the report, a complaint which alleges that she has committed welfare fraud has been lodged. Someone -- unknown to the reporter -- made the allegation last week to the Los Angeles County Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation (WFP&I). The allegation states that Suleman is receiving various forms of welfare, including food stamps, even though she made nearly $200,000 in 2012.

To be clear, remember that Suleman has 14 children and no husband. As such, under California law, she could receive welfare for herself and her 14 children even with a six-figure salary -- as long as it is $119,000 or less in a calendar year. If the allegation is true, Octomom nearly doubled the limit, though.

Law enforcement sources say that the WFP&I is investigating the claim, and has already interviewed witnesses familiar with Suleman and her "world." If the WFP&I determines Suleman committed welfare fraud, she could be prosecuted. If convicted she could face over than three years in prison.

For those wondering how Suleman could have earned about $200,000, the answer is porn (remember her solo porn video?), stripping, etc.

Nadya Suleman became famous when she gave birth to octuplets in 2009, but became infamous when it was revealed that she already had six children from earlier IVF implantations, was unemployed, and on public assistance programs.

She earned the name "Octomom" from those octuplets.

Is Lindsay Lohan's plea deal endangered by a lack of New York lockdown facilities?

Earlier, Lindsay Lohan was adamant about not accepting lockdown rehab, but she went for it on Monday. Perhaps she did so because, as TMZ reported on Wednesday -- in New York State -- there is no such thing.

According to the site's investigation, despite contacting numerous rehabilitation facilities in New York State, they could not find one that locked down their patients -- forcing them to stay, in other words. An official from the New York State agency that regulates rehabilitation facilities said that lockdown rehab does not exist in the state.

That could pose a problem for Lohan. Apaprently, the plea deal -- or at least the portion that said she could take her rehab in New York -- was based on the representation of Lohan's new lawyer, Mark Heller, who asserted that New York Stae had lockdown rehab facilities.

Prosecutors are now trying to determine for themselves if Heller's representation was false. One source said:
The sentence was actually 90 days in custody, and lockdown rehab would satisfy that. If there's no such thing, then she'll go to jail for 90 days.
Lohan, in fact, has a history of sneaking out of rehab facilities. Two such examples were her stints at Cirque Lodge and the Betty Ford Center.

At the Betty Ford Center, upon her return from her night out, a counselor and Lohan scuffled. The Betty Ford employee later sued Lohan and the case was settled out of court last year.

Miley Cyrus seen rockin' her engagement ring again

Miley Cyrus is rocking her rock again. After appearing in a photo earlier this month sans her engagement ring, Cyrus tweeted a picture showing it off again.

Recently, though, multiple media outlets have reported that she and fiance Liam Hemsworth were done. The Twitter image seems to belie that assertion, or perhaps it is just wishful thinking, as Cyrus has been said to have not given up yet on Hemsworth.

Cyrus tweet said:
It's a onezie PARTY 🌈 (of one) pic.twitter.com/2ldCmo12PY
The onesie that Cyrus referred to was -- strangely -- a unicorn onesie.

The alleged break-up is still making waves. Hemsworth is reportedly in Australia, along with his family. Meanwhile, Cyrus has been all around town, without her ring.

Earlier, though, she tweeted that the missing ring was due to it being at a jeweler's being repaired. Hemsworth is still missing in action, however.

President Barack Obama's 2013 NCAA Men's Tournament bracket unveiled

It's that time of the year, with the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament beginning, although one could say the tourney really began on Tuesday, with the first two play-in games (Saint Mary's defeated Middle Tennessee 67-54; North Carolina A&T defeated Liberty 73-72). On Wednesday, the White House revealed U.S. President Barack Obama's bracket.

In reality, though, as he usually does, Obama first revealed his brackets -- including the Womens bracket -- via an ESPN interview (embedded), also on Wednesday.

The POTUS predicted that Louisville, Indiana, Ohio State and Florida will reach the Final Four and that Louisville and Indiana will meet in the title game. In terms of the winner:
I'm going with Louisville. I know it's not a surprise pick. And I'm going with Indiana These are the two best teams right now, and for the championship I'm going back to the Big Ten. I think this is Indiana's year.
This is the fifth consecutive tournament that Obama has filled out a men's bracket for ESPN. In 2012, he correctly picked two Final Four teams -- Ohio State and Kentucky. However, his national championship selection was North Carolina, which lost in the Elite Eight.

The POTUS also filled out a bracket for the women's tournament. Obama has Baylor, Connecticut, Notre Dame and California in the Final Four, but the full bracket will not be revealed until Friday.

Kate Upton mulls a high schooler's YouTube prom invitation

2011 was the year of celebrities being invited to military balls. Could 2013 be the year that celebrities sweep into proms? Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl Kate Upton is considering such an invitation, it was reported on Wednesday.

As with the military ball offers, this invitation was made via YouTube (embedded). Fortunately for Los Angeles high school senior Jake Davidson, it went viral, has been viewed nearly 140,000 times at the time of this writing, and was viewed by one person in particular: Kate Upton.

Davidson's prom is May 23. He said:
'm Jewish, 5'9" on a really good day and I can't dance at all. You're Christian, 5'10" and that Cat Daddy video should've won an Oscar for Best Short Film. You could say this is destiny.

It would mean the world to me if you came and I would do anything to make sure you get here. Kate, great moments are born from great opportunity. And that, is what you have here today. A chance to make a nice guy's senior year the best ever.
In the video, Davidson is shown doing push-ups, shaving, and even in the shower. The video climax occurs when Davidson gets down on one knee -- with roses -- and asks for a date.

What will Upton do? It seems it might depend on her schedule. She tweeted:
"@JakeDavidson23:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvxqUEMDBp8 …” you can call me Katie if you want! How could I turn down that video! I'll check my schedule ;)
Will she or won't she? It all depends on her calendar, it seems. Let's hope Kate updates us all via Twitter.

Lindsay Lohan smirks in her post-plea deal mug shot

Lindsay Lohan has a new mug shot. After pleading no contest on Monday to the charge of "lying to the police," Lohan, as a formality, had to be booked by the Santa Monica Police Department on Tuesday. Thus, we have her latest mug shot, showing the troubled "The Canyons" actress looking more than a little miffed about the whole thing.

It's unclear if it will become as iconic as her earlier mug shot -- one of what TMZ reported to be at least six -- in which she looked somewhat abashed and lost. In this one, Lohan looks as though she is smirking, somewhat.

In addition to her appearance for booking, on Tuesday the actress claimed on Twitter that she wasn't out partying on Monday night, despite numerous media reports and pictures alleging that she went to the A.V. club.
Guys relax, that was NOT me at A/V or in the @mrpink SUV. I'm taking this seriously and focused on the road ahead. I stayed in last night, after a pretty long day...and ordered sushi to my hotel.

In her latest plea agreement, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Dabney sentenced Lohan to five days in jail as part of the plea agreement (there is a mandatory sentence of five days in jail for reckless driving), but the time will be served as part of her 90-day lockdown rehab stint.

Lohan must also perform 30 days of community service and undergo psychotherapy for 18 months. She must also pay restitution to the driver of the truck that she hit on June 18, 2012 while on her way to the set of "Liz & Dick."

Judge Dabney set another court date for May 2, when the court must be given proof of Lohan's enrollment in a treatment program. Lohan is not required to appear, if everything is copacetic.

Lindsay Lohan parties on the same night as her 'lockdown rehab' sentencing

According to a Tuesday report, Lindsay Lohan didn't choose lockdown rehab as part of her Monday plea agreement because she feels she needs rehab. Instead, she chose it because it's better than jail.

Prosecutors given Lohan the 90-day lockdown rehab option for weeks, but she consistently turned it down. Now, she has told friends she likes the rehab option, because it will allow her to focus on herself sans distractions.

However, Lohan is still adamant in saying that she does not have a substance abuse problem. Experts will say that an addict must first admit they have a problem with a substance before they can recover.

Lohan has been through rehab before, but has always seem to backslide, although -- since she currently believes she does not have a problem -- not in her eyes.

She also took to clubbing after the sentencing, seemingly not noting the gravity of the situation and how the authorities might shake their heads. On Monday night, she apparently partied with representatives of Mr. Pink -- the company that flew her out of New York City to Los Angeles in time (not) to make her Monday court date.

It's not a good sign, and has to make one wonder how she will make it in lockdown rehab.

Multiple venues cancel Michelle Shocked concerts after her anti-gay rant

Michelle Shocked, 51, shocked a venue in San Francisco, of all places, on Sunday night, when she launched into an anti-gay tirade. She said,
You are going to leave here and tell people, "Michelle Shocked said God hates f-----s."

When they stop Prop 8 and force priests at gunpoint to marry gays, it will be the downfall of civilization, and Jesus will come back,
Proposition 8 is the 2008 ballot initiative which changed California's constitution to ban same-sex marriages.

The majority of the crowd at Yoshi’s walked out of the concert. In addition, management shut the concert down early. The club’s manager announced over the public address system:
Thank you for coming, ladies and gentlemen. This show is over.
With that, Shocked continued to sing, saying:
It's not over.
Shocked However, Yoshi’s management cut off her microphone and turned off the stage lights.

On Monday, Yoshi's tweeted:
We at Yoshi’s SF do not & will not ever tolerate the type of bigotry & hatred exhibited last night by @MShocked. She will never be back.
The fallout began immediately, with the Hopmonk Tavern in nearby Novato saying it had canceled Shocked's March 29 concert.

The following concerts have also been confirmed as canceled.
  • Cancelled: March 23, McCabe's Guitar Shop, Santa Monica, Calif.
  • Cancelled: March 28, Santa Cruz, CA, Moe's Alley (thank you for the comment)
  • Cancelled: March 29, Novato, Calif., Hopmonk Tavern
  • Cancelled: April 24, Winters, Calif., Palm's Playhouse
  • Cancelled: April 25, Portland, Ore., Alberta Rose Theater

Selena Gomez on Letterman: 'I made Justin Bieber cry'

Selena Gomez appeared on "Late Night with David Letterman" on Monday to promote her new film "Spring Breakers," and she dismissed any rumors that she and Justin Bieber were reuniting, while also saying that sans Bieber, she's just fine.

Letterman asked, "Do you date? Do you go out and see ... are you dating boys now?"

To that, Gomez, 20, said,No, not yet, no.

Letterman continued, "I remember last time you were here you were with a Justin Bieber ..."

Gomez interrupted and laughed, saying "I was with 'A' Justin Bieber?"

Letterman said, "Well, you were with a Justin Bieber, and that's not going on now."

Gomez replied, "No, I'm single. I'm so good."

Letterman then went on to relate a story. "The last time he was on, he and I got into a conversation. He said something, and I said something, and then he said something and I said something ... and I made him cry."

Gomez said with aplomb, "Well, then, that makes two of us."

That comment drew applause and accolades from David Letterman, but will probably draw Twitter flak toward Gomez's account.

The couple reportedly broke up during a New Year's Eve trip to Mexico.  Gomez was seeing exiting his digs on an early Saturday morning on Feb. 2, though.

Watch the exchange below.

Lindsay Lohan's new lawyer, Mark Heller, accused of witness tampering: Report

It was Lindsay Lohan's former assistant, Gavin Doyle, who told the police that Lohan was driving the Porsche that slammed into a truck in her Pacific Coast Highway accident last summer. According to a Monday report from TMZ, Lohan's new attorney Mark Heller tried to get him to perjure himself.

The report said that the Santa Monica City Attorney is launching an investigation; Doyle will be interviewed today (Tuesday).

Authorities believe Heller approached Doyle and attempted to convince LiLo's former assistant to testify that he was the one driving Lohan's rented Porsche last summer. It's unclear why Heller would do this; Doyle's prior statements about Lohan driving have been known for quite some time.

Apparently, however, Doyle has told multiple people about Heller's alleged witness tampering, one of whom was an officer of the court. For his part, though, Heller has strongly stated that any allegations of witness tampering on his part are "crazy."

Lindsay Lohan avoided jail in her latest legal dust-up. Instead, on Monday she pleaded no contest to the charge of "lying to the police," and was sentenced to 90 days of lockdown rehab along with 30 days of community service; she must also attend psychotherapy for 18 months.

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn admit they're dating

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn took to their Facebook pages on Monday to announce they are dating. It was not, of course, a well-kept secret.

Both Facebook posts included professionally done images of the new couple. A slideshow is here.

Woods' Facebook post said:
This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes.
Vonn's said:
I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV
Rumors had swirled around Woods and Vonn for the past few months. However, solid evidence that Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn were dating appeared in early February. After a frightening skiing accident which resulted in two torn ligaments and a broken bone in Vonn's lower leg, Tiger Woods helped the skier get out of Austria; she was seen boarding his private jet.

Woods is 37; Vonn is 28. Woods plays this coming weekend in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and needs no introduction to golf fans.

Despite her injuries, Vonn earlier said that she still expects to compete in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Lohan strikes plea deal, accepts lockdown rehab for 'lying to the police'

Despite previously saying she would never accept punishment for her "lying to the police" case, because she was not guilty of anything, Lindsay Lohan on Monday signed on the dotted line for a plea agreement. The deal puts her in lockdown rehab for 90 days, but keeps her out of jail.

Lohan pleaded "no contest" to the crimes of reckless driving and lying to the authorities. In addition to rehab, Lindsay will perform 30 days of community service and undergo psychotherapy for 18 months. She will received credit for therapy time already completed; her new lawyer, Mark Heller, told prosecutors she was already undergoing treatment.

Although there is a mandatory five days in jail for reckless driving, it will be folded into Lohan's lockdown rehab, meaning that LiLo won't spend any time behind bars. She will also be able to do her rehab in New York City.

She must stay clear of drugs and drug users, and she must also submit to drug testing.

No contest or nolo contendere is a legal term that comes from the Latin for "I do not wish to contend." In criminal trials in certain U.S. jurisdictions, it serves as an alternative to pleading guilty or not guilty. A no-contest plea is technically not a guilty plea, but has the same immediate effect as a guilty plea, and is often offered as a part of a plea agreement.

In addition to her plea deal for the above, Lohan also admitted to a probation violation in her earlier jewelry heist case. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail, but that sentence was stayed and as long as she continues to obey all laws, she won't do any time.

Lohan showed little patience for her new attorney Mark Heller. Heller kept jumping up to speak, and she finally told him, "Don't say anything else." When Heller ignored her and rose to speak again, LiLo said, "Oh my god, I'm going to kill you."

Lindsay showed up 48 minutes late after missing two commercial flights from New York City to Los Angeles. She took a private jet, provided free of charge by energy drink Mr. Pink, and landed a little too late to make the court hearing on time.

Fox News blasted for naming 16-year-old victim in Steubenville, Ohio, rape case

Fox News on Monday revealed the name of a underage victim of a disturbing rape in Steubenville, Ohio. The case, which became a national story, concluded on Sunday with the two underage football players being found guilty by a juvenile court judge.

The name of the 16-year-old victim has been protected until now.  The network was blasted online for the reveal, but reportedly was not the only outlet to do so.  Other networks, MediaIte said, including CNN, MSNBC and a local CBS affiliate also aired the a video segment outing the victim.

However, as Mediate noted, many other outlets picked up on the story and pointed at Fox exclusively, leaving out the other miscreants, including Huffington Post, Jezebel, New York magazine, ThinkProgress, and AlterNet.

The unveiling came during an episode of "America's Newsroom." Correspondent Mike Tobin was speaking to host Martha MacCallum. He said:
Well, a relative tells me that she spends a lot of time in her room. She has been back out playing sports, and through it all -- you’ll be surprised to learn -- she made the honor roll one more time.

A family representative says the remorse coming from the football players came too late,” the correspondent added. “We saw their reaction yesterday.
At this point, however, the report cut to footage of one of the rapists, 17-year-old Trent Mays, apologizing to the victim in court on Sunday. Reportedly, the segment was meant to be censored so that the young woman's identity was protected, but for some reason the segment was not.
I would truly like to apologize to [redacted], her family, my family and the community. No picture [of the rape] should have been sent around, let alone even taken.
The unsaid statement is that no rape should have taken place, either.

CNN aired the same clip that Fox News did, but censored the victim’s name.

Although Fox News was blasted on Monday for revealing the victim's name, it wasn't the only cable news network to take a hit over the case. On Sunday, CNN host Candy Crowley and reporter Poppy Harlow came under fire after they expressed sympathy for the rapists, yet made little mention of the rape victim.

Paternity lawsuit against Michael Jordan dropped

Michael Jordan photo MichaelJordan.jpg
The paternity lawsuit filed recently by Pamela Smith, who alleged that NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan was the father of her 16-year-old son, has been dropped, according to a Monday report.

The report said that Smith has filed legal documents in Georgia asking the judge to dismiss her case against Jordan. However, she did so "without prejudice," which means that she can refile the lawsuit at a later time if she wants to.

Why did Smith derail her paternity lawsuit, but "without prejudice"? That's a good question, as when she filed it originally she asked the court to order Jordan to provide a DNA test.

Although the reasons are not known, the timeline is. Smith filed the suit on Feb. 6. Court documents show that a hearing was scheduled for March 12. On March 15, court records list that the case was dismissed "without prejudice by party."

It is, of course, possible that Jordan and Smith reached an out-of-court settlement, or instead halted legal action until a settlement can be worked out. The actual reason, however, is unknown.

Pamela Smith had filed a paternity suit in Fulton County, Ga. in an attempt to establish the NBA Hall of Fame member as the father of her son, Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, also known as Taj. Taj was born in June of 1996, and for those wondering, at the time Jordan was married to Juanita Vanoy. Jordan and Vanoy wed in September of 1989; they divorced in December of 2006.

In semi-related news, in early March, Jordan and longtime girlfriend Yvette Prieto got a marriage license.

Pia Rizza of 'Mob Wives Chicago' nixed by Playboy

Pia Rizza, one of the "stars" of the late, lamented show "Mob Wives Chicago," has been rejected by Playboy. The report came on Monday, a week after
it was learned that someone was shopping nude images of to the media.

After Rizza discovered that someone was trying to sell nude images of herself, she decided to release them herself, in an attempt to make Hefner's bunny magazine. Reportedly, Rizza said she posed for some nude self portraits in 2012 and sent them to her boyfriend to get his opinion on whether or not she was sexy enough for Playboy.

It's unclear what her boyfriend's vote was, but Playboy's was negative. The magazine rejected her request to do a nude feature for them.

Sources close to Rizza said that the images were submitted to Playboy last weekend, but the magazine quickly shot down the idea, saying they weren't interested at this time.

Perhaps if Rizza can land on a new reality TV show? After all, they said "at this time."

Rizza had decided to drop the idea after all the flak she received from her fellow "Mob Wives Chicago" cast members about being an exotic dancer.

Pia Rizza, 40, is the daughter of Vincent Rizza, who worked for "The Chicago Outfit," also known as the Chicago Syndicate, Chicago Mafia, Chicago Mob, or simply the Outfit. Rizza subsequently testified against them and entered the Federal Witness Protection Program.

Lindsay Lohan races to her 'lying to the police' case court date

Lindsay Lohan has a date with the court today, and if she misses it, the judge could issue a bench warrant. Why, then, as reported on Monday, is she cutting it so close?

Lohan had been scheduled to take a flight out of JFK Airport on Saturday. She opted instead for a flight on Sunday. However, she got off the plane at the last minute because she believed there was a problem with the plane. Specifically, the troubled actress felt that fuel was leaking.

It's unclear where that thought came from, but Lohan told friends that 35 other people disembarked the plane as well because they too felt it was unsafe. However, even though it took off an hour late and was diverted to Las Vegas, the flight still arrived in Los Angeles last night at 11:30 p.m. PDT.

Lohan eventually found a flight, tweeting at around 4:00 a.m. PDT and thanking Mr. Pink, which is an energy drink company, for lending her a private jet. She has to make it to court by 8:30 a.m., though, and reports are that the plane won't land until 6:30 - 7:00 a.m. PDT.

Lohan will have to drive 20 miles to get to the hearing at Airport Courthouse -- in rush hour, no less. Sources say that Lohan is not alone on the flight. Although her mother Dina opted out of the trip, Lindsay Lohan is traveling with her ex-assistant Gavin Doyle, who was the one who told the authorities the truth, that she was driving the car during her Pacific Coast Highway accident last summer.

Lohan had originally claimed otherwise.

Furthermore, Lohan could face up to 240 days in jail if convicted. If she loses the case, prosecutors will ask for the maximum in terms of her probation violation -- due to lying to the police -- for her jewelry theft case. They will not, however, ask for any jail time for the lying to the police charge, meaning 240 days would be the maximum she could serve.

Sources say that assuming the judge sentences Lohan to the maximum, based on the current formula and the fact that she's a repeat probation violator, the actress would actually serve between 60 and 90 days.

New 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' casting sheet shows Colossus, Blink, a 'Twilight' star

Three more actors were revealed on Friday by "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer via his favorite news site: Twitter. Singer tweeted a picture showing a number of cast members, including the new ones.

Among the new thespians were Daniel Cudmore, who played Colossus in "X2" and "X-Men: The Last Stand." It makes a lot of sense. Colossus plays a vital role in the "future portion" of the classic X-Men comic book storyline.

Also unveiled was Booboo Stewart, best known for his role in "The Twilight Saga." He played Seth Clearwater.

Finally, the third person revealed was Fan Bingbing, a Chinese actress best known for films like "Battle of the Warriors" and "Double Xposure." She play the teleporting mutant Clarice Ferguson, or Blink. She is also expected to appear in "Iron Man 3," but that appearance still shows as TBD in terms of the character, in Wikipedia.

Those who recall the classic "Days of Future Past" comic book storyline will remember that it spanned "The Uncanny X-Men" issues 141 and 142, published in 1981. Written by Chris Claremont, it was drawn by John Byrne and inked by Terry Austin.

In the story, we see an alternate future which has been triggered by the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly by The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. An older Kitty Pryde transfers her mind into a younger, present-day Kitty Pryde in hopes of preventing the event, which led to members of mutantkind being either killed or imprisoned in internment camps.

In the comics, that included those who were not X-Men, but were mutants, such as Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue Richards of the Fantastic Four.

Only a few X-Men remain alive as the story opens: Kitty Pride, Wolverine, Storm (there's a hint that Halle Berry should appear), and Colossus. In the alternate future, all are killed, even Wolverine, despite his adamantium skeleton and rapid healing factor. He is vaporized by a Sentinel, too fast even for his healing process, with only the metal skeleton left behind.

However, Kitty Pryde's mission succeeds, and that dystopian future is gone, never to occur.

Rachel Summers, who took the name Phoenix, also traveled back in time as part of the story. Despite being from an alternate future, she stayed, and became a member of the X-Men.

The sequel to "X-Men: First Class" is scheduled for a release on July 18, 2014. The film combines original X-Men characters with "First Class" characters. Among those already confirmed are Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), James McAvoy (young Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (young Erik Lehnsherr), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Shadowcat), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) and Peter Dinklage.

Legendary Pictures shows off size of 'Pacific Rim' Kaiju with new footprint image

On Friday, Legendary pictures unveiled an image of the footprint of a Kaiju, one of the giant creatures seen in the upcoming Guillermo del Toro-directed movie "Pacific Rim."

Based on a screenplay by Travis Beacham, the film focuses on giant monsters named Kaiju and giant human-controlled (and humanoid-appearing) robot weapons called Jaegers. The Jaegers can vary in design, and at least one of the ones shown in a prior trailer has four arms, not two. Wikipedia's synopsis is:
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, start rising from the sea, a war begins that takes millions of lives and consumes humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon is devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers prove nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.

On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes -- a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) -- who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
The image of the Kaiju footprint is reminiscent of that of Godzilla from the 1998 Matthew Broderick film, which is also used to show the comparative size of the beast.

The Jaegers are operated in a manner similar to some anime series and films, responding to the movements of their neural-bridged co-pilots. In other words, the pilots walk themselves in order to make a Jaeger walk. They punch to make a Jaeger punch.

The Warner Bros./Legendary picture stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman. It opens on July 12.

Viewpoint School parents seek prosecution of Charlie Sheen for dog poop Twitter threat

Parents at the private school once attended by Charlie Sheen's daughter Sam want authorities to look into his request for his Twitter following to wreak havoc on Viewpoint School in Calabasas, Calif., and perhaps prosecute the "Anger Management" star, a report said on Saturday. Earlier this week, Sheen tweeted (using TwitLonger):
CADRE!
This is a legitimate call to arms.
my daughter Sam was bullied out of Viewpoint school and then called a liar.
it's on!
if you have a rotted egg
a roll of toilet paper
or some dog shit;
I urge u to deliver it with "extreme prejudice"
to their KamPuss run by trolls and charlatans.
make me proud.
we will not tolerate this level of
abhorrent disrespect towards the child of your favorite Warlock.
And if your feeling the
"show and tell" of it all,
smear the shit to spell one name on the front door;
VICTORIA.
eat that loser.
c
hashtag HYLMN?
It's unclear why Sheen has taken Viewpoint to task now, months later, but apparently 9-year-old girl named Victoria had made Sam's life hell. Her mother, Denise Richards, had threes meetings with the school to complain about the bullying.

It was after the third meeting, when Victoria's parents met with Richards with the parents insisting their daughter had done no wrong, and that Sam was lying about incidents, that Charlie and Denise decided to pull Sam out of the school.

With that, Sheen issued his tweet on March 13.

Parents at the school want Sheen prosecuted. The tweet remains the latest one on his Twitter feed, at the time of this writing, and Sheen has more than 9 million Twitter followers. Any of the more fanatic of them could respond to his call at any time, the parents fear.

Multiple people who were present at a Thursday night school meeting said that they want Sheen prosecuted for criminal threats as well as inciting violence.

Using past incidents -- none of which ended up in prosecution -- the parents believe he is a credible threat. They included the time when Charlie Sheen threatened to shoot someone with a super 90, held a knife to his ex-wife's throat, shot Kelly Preston, and trapped a prostitute in his hotel room. Again, no prosecution ever occurred in any of the alleged incidents).

At least one of the parents is a lawyer, and they plan to get in touch with authorities to get the legal events going. It's unclear when this will occur, however.
