Report says Lindsay Lohan scored $2 million with Oprah deal

Oprah scored another exclusive, as late last week it was revealed she will conduct the first post-rehab interview with troubled actress Lindsay Lohan. On Tuesday, we found out just how much Oprah's deal with Lohan will cost her production company: a cool $2 million.

To be clear, in addition to an interview scheduled to tape and air in August, Oprah Winfrey's OWN cable network will also follow the actress in an eight-episode docu-series. That series will air in 2014.

That $2 million will more than pay off the tax bill that Lindsay Lohan still owes. In February, the actress was hit with another bill, this one for 2011.

Lohan has turned down unscripted, reality-based project offers for years, so the OWN network docu-series is a big deal.

The interview is another example of celebrities trusting Oprah to handle contentious issues. Over the past year, Oprah's "Next Chapter" series has aired a number of such interviews, including Lance Armstrong’s "confession" interview, Rihanna speaking of her turbulent relationship with Chris Brown, and an interview with Whitney Houston’s family after the pop superstar's death.

OWN launched on January 1, 2011 to poor ratings. However, it has recovered somewhat, with its strongest quarter yet, up 32 percent in the second quarter when compared with the first quarter.
