Former FHM model, 'Baseball Wife' Anna Benson arrested after threatening estranged husband with handgun

Former "Baseball Wives" star Anna Benson -- who appeared on the show for its single season -- was arrested Monday morning in Georgia. The arrest came after she allegedly "raided" estranged husband Kris Benson's apartment with a handgun and a metal baton.

No only that, she committed the felonies all while wearing a bulletproof vest.

Law enforcement officials say that Anna arrived at Kris' home, enraged, on Sunday night. Kris -- a former major league baseball pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1999–2004), New York Mets (2004–2005), Baltimore Orioles (2006), Texas Rangers (2009), and Arizona Diamondbacks (2010) -- filed for divorce last year. Anna arrived angry because she has been forced to vacate the home they had shared while together.

When she arrived, Anna Benson whipped out (pun intended) an "expandable metal baton" and threatened Kris Benson with it.

That was just the start. Anna then whipped out (no pun intended, this time) a handgun and brandished it, demanding money. It's unclear if she expected Kris to fight back with his own weapon, since she was wearing the flak jacket.

According to the police report, Kris Benson told his estranged wife he would give her the money immediately following after the incident. Instead, thought, he left the home and called the authorities.

Anna Benson, 37 and a former FHM model, was arrested Monday morning and booked on four counts, including two counts of felony aggravated assault with a weapon, one count of criminal trespass, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

She is currently still in custody. Anna is famous for threatening to sleep with the entire Mets team if Kris ever cheated on her. She has also called herself a "harlot" and for making controversial comments. Sports reporter Murray Chass wrote of Kris Benson's trade from the Mets to the Orioles, "Kris Benson doesn't have a good enough arm for the Mets to overlook his wife's mouth. ... And by trading Anna Benson, the Mets may have achieved what [former Yankees manager] Casey Stengel called addition by subtraction."

In November of 2004, Anna Benson posed for the cover and a spread in FHM magazine and was named "baseball's hottest wife." In 2005 (48) and 2006 she was ranked among FHM-U.S.'s 100 Sexiest Women.
