After call girl scandal, Big Ten drops Suzy Favor Hamilton's name from female athlete of the year award

As anticipated, Suzy Favor Hamilton's name has been dropped from the Big Ten female athlete of the year award, it was announced Tuesday. Favor Hamilton became huge news late last year when it was revealed that the former Olympic track and field athlete was working as a high-priced call girl.

Big Ten spokesman Scott Chipman said on Tuesday that Suzy Favor Hamilton’s name was removed from the award after discussions between the league and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where Favor Hamilton attended college.

Minnesota hockey player Amanda Kessel was named the winner of the Big Ten's award last week. She was also the national player of the year following another undefeated season for the Gophers and a second consecutive NCAA title.

Everything came to a head in late December of last year, when Favor Hamilton's call girl persona was outed. In that role, Favor Hamilton used the alias "Kelly Lundy."

She worked for Haley Heston's Private Collection, and although the website disappeared soon after revelations of her activity arose, portions of it were recovered.

Her statistics as listed on the site were given as 40 years of age (she was actually 44), 34B-26-36, 5'4", 110 pounds, blonde hair and blue eyes. She is also listed as being full GFE. GFE refers to a "girl friend experience," which implies french kissing and other activities often eschewed by escorts, call girls and prostitutes. It does not imply unprotected sex.

Her ad also listed her as Las Vegas' no. three "provider" and a former model. It's unclear that she worked as a runway model, but she did appear in ads, so while stretching the truth, that statement is reasonably truthful.

Kelly Lundy (AKA Suzy Favor Hamilton) describes herself as fun-loving, extremely sensual, and sophisticated. She notes that "I enjoy men of all shapes, sizes, and colors while adding that "I have an affinity for women as well (I am bisexual) so I consider dates with couples an experience to cherish."

Her full rate list was:

One hour - $600
Two hours - $1,000
Each additional hour - $500

12 hours overnight - $4,000
24 hours overnight - $6,000

Couples, two hours $1,500
Couples, each additional hour - $750

Favor Hamilton issued a series of tweets on Dec. 20, apologizing to the public. She has not tweeted since. Among the tweets:
I was drawn to escorting in large part because it provided many coping mechanisms for me when I was going through a very challenging time with my marriage and my life. It provided an escape from a life that I was struggling in. It was a double life.
