Chad Johnson out of jail after a week for 'butt pat' diss

After giving Chad Johnson a week in the slammer to think things over, Broward County, Florida Judge Kathleen McHugh released the NFL player from jail on Monday. McHugh had Johnson incarcerated after she felt he disrespected her court, last week.

As you might recall, Judge McHugh was very displeased when Johnson patted his attorney on the butt in court. The incident occurred as Johnson seemed to be seconds away from walking out of the courtroom a free man, after working out a plea deal for a probation violation in a 2012 domestic violence case.

However, McHugh then complimented Adam Swickle, Johnson's attorney, at which the NFL great playfully patted his lawyer on the behind. McHugh, though, reportedly believed it was disrespectful to the court, and said:
Mr. Johnson, I don't know that you're taking this whole thing seriously. I'm not going to accept these plea negotiations. This isn't a joke.
Instead of a freebie, Johnson was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

That was last week, so Johnson didn't spend all his 30 days in jail. Instead, on Monday McHugh had him escorted into her courtroom, at which she ripped into Johnson over his history of courtroom disrespect. Notably, he was brought into the courtroom cuffed (video embedded).

After ripping Johnson a new one, however, McHugh agreed to release Johnson. All was not bright and cheery for Johnson, though, as the judge also extended his probation by a month, until Oct. 16.
