Lindsay Lohan's 'psychotic' behavior led to my interference: Samantha Ronson's mother

Many will recall the on-again, off-again, on-again and finally, off-for-good relationship between Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. On Sunday, Ronson's mother was quoted with the details on why she helped split the couple apart: She said Lindsay Lohan's behavior, at the time, was "psychotic."

Socialite Ann Dexter-Jones felt her eldest daughter's romance with Lohan was headed for tragedy. Although Dexter-Jones already had some concern, the straw that broke the camel's back came during the 2008 party for the opening of Dubai's lavish "Atlantis, The Palm" hotel and resort.

Samantha Ronson, 35, is an English singer-songwriter as well as a disc jockey. She had been hired to DJ the grand opening party and brought Lohan with her. At one point in the party, though, Lohan -- apparently feeling ignored -- went on a childish temper tantrum.
Suddenly, without any warning, Lindsay flung herself on to the thick carpet and started to roll around screaming like a child. It seemed she was upset that people, including Samantha, were not paying her enough attention.

To my mind, it was classic psychotic behaviour. I took Lindsay aside and told her not to make a spectacle of herself. She was clearly out of control and spoiling for a fight.
Dexter-Jones took action the next morning.
The morning after her tantrum – and believe me, that was not the worst of it – I told them both that I could no longer support them as a couple, that I no longer approved of them being together and that Lindsay was no longer welcome in my home.
Lohan, 26, has since characterized the relationship with Ronson as "mutually toxic." Dexter-Jones, however, does not agree. The toxicity, she implied, was one-sided.
I saw how much pain my daughter was in and that she was suffering deeply. She is a very Zen person and not used to the kind of turmoil that Lindsay seems to thrive on.
Media first began to notice that Lohan's relationship with Ronson seemed affectionate, in 2008. It wasn't acknowledged as a romance for some time, though. It is unclear how long the pair was a couple.

In September of 2008, Lohan confirmed on the syndicated radio program, "Loveline," that she was, in fact, dating Ronson. When asked During the program, by DJ Stryker, how long they had been a couple, Lohan only replied "For a very long time." The Atlantis opened in late September of 2008.

Samantha Ronson is now reported to be in a relationship with music producer David Foster’s daughter, the actress/writer Erin Foster. Lohan, however, isn't in a committed relationship, though she is apparently in a "friends with benefits" relationship with Max George of "The Wanted."
