Porn legend Ron Jeremy undergoes two surgeries for dangerous aneurysm

Adult film star Ron Jeremy underwent two surgeries on Wednesday, after driving himself to Cedars-Sinai hospital Tuesday afternoon with severe chest pain. Doctors who examined the legendary porn star discovered an aneurysm near his heart.

Jeremy's condition declined and he was admitted to the intensive care unit, according to his manager, Mike Esterman. After his second surgery, Esterman said that he was informed by the surgeons that everything went "smoothly."

In addition, he stated that "Ron is now resting with complete privacy and no visitors."

An aneurysm is a localized, blood-filled balloon-like bulge in the wall of a blood vessel. If it were to burst, an aneurysm could result in severe hemorrhage, other complications or even death.

Ron Jeremy is 59; he will turn 60 on March 12. He was born Ronald Jeremy Hyatt. He was nicknamed "The Hedgehog" after an incident on the set of "Olympic Fever," shot in 1979.

Jeremy was ranked by AVN at number one in their "The 50 Top Porn Stars of All Time" list. his entry on the Internet Adult Film Database lists over 2,000 films in which he has performed, and an additional 281 films which he directed. He has also appeared in non-pornographic films, such as "The Chase," "Orgazmo," "They Bite," "The Boondock Saints," "Crank: High Voltage," "Girls Gone Dead," and "54."
