Petition to rename street after Paul Walker bound for failure: Councilman

A petition to rename the street that actor Paul Walker -- as well as the driver, Roger Rodas -- died on in a fiery crash on Nov. 30, 2013 has thousands of signatures. However, on Monday, a city councilman told TMZ the plan was probably doomed to failure.

The petition can be found here, on GoPetition.com. At the time of this writing, it has reached 1,868 signatures -- hardly Phil Robertson level -- but still notable.

However, most residents are saying nay to the idea of renaming Hercules Avenue to Walker Rojas Memorial Way. Primarily, the report said, it's because Paul did nothing specific for the community itself. There is, of course, also the annoyance and expense for residents and the city changing street signs and those minor thing like contact info.

Thus, we have city councilman TimBen Boydston, who told the celebrity site on Monday that cannoty be renamed without the support of the community. That statement appears to have squashed the hopes of any such change.

Walker and Rodas both died on Nov. 30, 2013. After they left an event for Walker's charity Reach Out Worldwide for victims of Typhoon Haiyan, the red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT -- which Rodas was driving -- crashed into a light pole and tree on Hercules Avenue, a 45 mph speed zone near Kelly Johnson Parkway in Valencia, Santa Clarita, Calif.

The car burst into flames. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department declared both victims dead at the scene.

After Robertson suspension, upcoming 'Duck Dynasty' marathons seen as hypocritical

TMZ asked a good question on Friday. The site asked its readersif the A&E network is hypocritical or simply running their business as just that, a business, based on their holiday TV schedule.

This question arises in the week of this week's "Duck Dynasty" news. A&E has suspended "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson over his anti-gay comments to GQ, but it remains to be seen if that suspension will last. After all, "Duck Dynasty" is a money-maker for the network, and that is clear. A look at the upcoming marathons makes it not just clear, but crystal clear.

The marathons run on the days Dec. 22, Dec. 23, Dec. 24, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25. They are as follows:
  • Dec. 22 -- 5 p.m. - 4 a.m. EST
  • Dec. 23 -- 7 p.m. - 4 a.m. EST
  • Dec. 24 -- 6 p.m - 9 p.m. EST
  • Dec. 25 -- 3:30 p.m. - 4 a.m. EST
"Duck Dynasty" is the highest-rated cable network reality TV show in history.

For those not in the know, Robertson said this to GQ:
It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.

Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.
That was just the start. He also made statements regarding race that were offensive to some. Speaking of the Louisiana of his youth, he said:
I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.
He also made statements that compared Shintoism, a form of Buddhism, with Nazism:
All you have to do is look at any society where there is no Jesus. I’ll give you four: Nazis, no Jesus. Look at their record. Uh, Shintos? They started this thing in Pearl Harbor. Any Jesus among them? None. Communists? None. Islamists? Zero. That’s eighty years of ideologies that have popped up where no Jesus was allowed among those four groups. Just look at the records as far as murder goes among those four groups.
For those interested, however, the question remains: hypocritical or just business as usual, in terms of A&E's marathon broadcssts of "DD?" The answer is 79 percent hypocritical, 21 percent business as usual (among 60K+ votes).

'Duck Dynasty' cast says 'No Phil Robertson, no show, period'

No Phil, no show. That is what the family involved in "Duck Dynasty" said, in a statement released (via TMZ) on Friday.

The full statement is below:
We want to thank all of you (fans) for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible.

Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate.

We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.
It is indeed his constitutionally protected right to express his feelings (via the First Amendment's protections for free Speech). However, nowhere in the Constitution does it say he cannot be fired for any statements he makes.

Earlier in the week, A&E indefinitely suspended the family's patriarch, Phil Robertson, over anti-gay statements he made in a GQ interview. Since then, it's been confirmed that Robertson has had these beliefs for a considerable time.

Many have come out in support of Robertson, including petitions that have risen above 100,000 signatures, posts on A&E's Facebook page, and people like Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin backing him up.

Reportedly, "Duck Dynasty" is the highest rated cable reality TV show in history, so we shall see if A&E blinks.

Unearthed video shows 'Duck Dynasty's' patriarch had long-standing opinions about the LGBT community

It's not clear whether or not A&E knew of "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson's opinion of the LGBT community prior to creating the series. That, however, is a theory posited by TMZ on Friday, when it discovered and posted an anti-gay rant captured on video, earlier.

The embedded video is from a 2010 sermon by Robertson at Berean Bible Church in Pennsylvania. "Duck Dynasty" did not hit the air until 2012. That could mean that A&E knew of his opinion of the gay community prior to the series, during their assumed vetting process, but it isn't solid evidence.

It does, however, mean that Robertson hasn't (recently) changed his tune on the matter.

A&E suspended Robertson from the popular reality series earlier this week. Since then, petitions have been raised, with one of them already past 100,000 signatures by early Friday morning.

Celebrities such as Sarah Palin and Sean Hannity have chimed in as well, calling the decision of A&E a violation of free speech. Others, though, have pointed out that A&E is not saying Robertson does not have the right to say what he did. Instead, the network is saying they have the right to fire him at any time.

If, in fact, such statements were free speech, then people who dissed their companies or clients or made similar comments and were fired could not be terminated either. Remember these three hosts, fired after mocking a former NFL player, now suffering from ALS.

The question as to whether or not Robertson remains suspended is still open.

Fake nude images of 'Duck Dynasty' star Korie Robertson shopped to the media

A set of (faux) nude photos of "Duck Dynasty" star Korie Robertson is reportedly being shopped to media outlets, TMZ reported on Friday. Robertson is the wife of Duck Commander CEO Willie Robertson, the son of Phil Robertson, who was recently suspended by A&E after his anti-gay comments in a GQ interview.

The celebrity site has done some due diligence and research, and discovered that the images were Photoshopped, with Korie's face being superimposed on another woman's face. They have one of the original images here.

Looking at the images, it seems pretty obvious that they are altered.

Phil Robertson was suspended from "Duck Dynasty" -- indefinitely -- after his comments were published. Defenders, including sponsors, fans, and petitions have arisen en masse since then. For now, however, A&E's decision stands.

A&E said:
We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series "Duck Dynasty."

His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.
While many are supporting Robertson, it appears this set of photos is being used to a) make a buck on the news, b) drag Korie through the mud, as well.

A slideshow is available here.

Petitions, sponsors back 'Duck Dynasty' patriarch's return

"Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson was suspended indefinitely from the reality TV show a series of homophobic comments he made in a recent GQ interview. A&E announced the suspension (via Time) on Wednesday.

For those unaware, Robertson told GQ that a) a vagina should be more desirable to a man than an anus, and b) bestiality and homosexuality are on the same level:

A&E's reaction was swift. A network representative released a statement that included the following:
We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series "Duck Dynasty."

His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.
Was A&E's swift suspension because they feared fan reprisal? If so, they should know the show's fans better. A Change.org petition was begun by Don Hall, and has over 57,000 signatures at the time of this writing. That is the most popular petition, mind you, as searching will find others.

Meanwhile, it appears the network needn't fear reprisal from at least one sponsor, either. A company called Skyjacker, which builds truck suspensions, told TMZ was solidly behind both the show and its currently ousted leader.

It remains to be seen if the suspension will stand.

One-armed and sans legs, Nick Santonastasso wants to be a 'Walker'

17-year-old Nick Santonastasso wants to be a "Walker" on AMC's "The Walking Dead." There's just one problem: He has no legs (and only one arm), so he won't be "walking" in his audition. Despite that, as TMZ reported on Tuesday, a petition to get him on the show has some solid numbers.

Santonastasso was born with only one arm and no legs. The petition is seeking 2,500 signatures before it is sent to comic book creator Robert Kirkman, who is also involved in the TV series. At the time of this writing, there are 1,777 signatures.

The petition, titled "Get Nick Santonastasso on Walking Dead: Please Robert Kirkman put Nick on Walking Dead," was started by Johnny Pope of Georgetown in South Carolina. It says:
Nick has made the best out of his physical sistuation (sic) and it would great if he could work as a zombie on up coming walking dead episode.
There is historical reason to believe such a walker would exist. Those who remember the show's first episode will recall that Rick came upon one zombie who was pretty much just a half person, with entrails streaming behind her and no lower part of her body.

Santonastasso has created his own audition "tape" of sorts. It can be seen, embedded below. If you think that he should get a shot on AMC's hit zombie series, surf over to the petition site linked above and hit it up with a signature.

Do you 'belieb' Justin is retiring?

Does anyone really believe that Justin Bieber would forgo the fame, fortune, and more importantly, based on his past behavior, the power of his singing career? That's what he told Los Angeles radio station Power 106 on Tuesday (per the Detroit Free Press).

Bieber, 19, said,
After the new album ("Journals"), I'm actually, I'm retiring man, I'm retiring.
“Journals” is set to arrive on Dec. 23 on iTunes. The album all of his "Music Monday" releases along with five other new tracks.

Twitter went wild over the possibility that Bieber was retiring.

@celebnellz: Retiring ? Justin Bieber I will slap you.

@DahBieberWorld: I actually wanna bloody cry in class cos am hearing that justin is retiring from music :'( @justinbieber is it true?:(

Not everyone is upset though.

@D_Martin90: Justin Bieber has retired! Christmas has come early!

Bieber fans needn't worry, though (and Bieber critics needn't crow). Sources have told TMZ the whole thing is a big joke. He just didn't save it for April Fool's Day, like Lilo did.

Brian Griffin returrns to 'Family Guy,' and did you ever doubt it?

In comic books, no one is ever dead. Sometimes a character is killed off and resurrected several times. Thus, why did folks watching the animated series "Family Guy" ever believe that Brian Griffin was gone forever? Sunday's Christmas special fixed that alternate past (it's a moving comic book, basically, after all) and he's back, all for a good holiday lesson, tweeted series creator Seth MacFarlane, on Sunday night.

For those not in the know, Brian Griffin was killed a few weeks ago when he was run over by a car. For those even less in the know, Brian is the family's bipedal walking and talking dog.

In the earlier episode, "Life of Brian," Stewie is unable to go back in time to save Brian because his time machine is kaput. In the latest episode, "Christmas Guy," Stewie is able to save Brian because (conveniently) another Stewie traveled back in time and he took the alternate Stewie's time machine to use himself.

Thus, this Stewie went back in time and saved Brian, again conveniently when the past Stewie goes into the Griffin house.

Fan rage was such that several online petitions were started to get Brian back. Meanwhile, Brian was replaced by Vinnie, voiced by Tony Sirico ("The Sopranos," Paulie Walnuts) with a decidedly different take on a Griffin family dog. He even replaced Brian in the opening credits, including Sunday.

However, after the episode aired, MacFarlane revealed it was all planned from the beginning, and that these petitions and outrage were unnecessary. He tweeted:
And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash.

I mean, you didn't really think we'd kill off Brian, did you? Jesus, we'd have to be f***ing high.

Oh and hey... thanks for caring so much about the canine Griffin. He is overcome with gratitude.
The "loss" of Brian Griffin might have given MacFarlane a little time to himself. He is one of the numerous characters that MacFarlane voices for the series.

Tila Tequila's pro-Hitler Facebook posts churn up the Internet

Reality TV "star" Tila Tequila has set the Internet and Facebook aflame. In a series of Facebook posts starting over the weekend and continue to a Monday response to criticism, Tequila made statements including compassion for Adolf Hitler, and claiming that the deaths of Elisa Lam and Paul Walker were both "ritualistic murders."

Last weekend, Tequila wrote:
I know who killed Elisa Lam. The Mysterious Video of the Girl in Elevator who ended up 'mysteriously dead' at the bottom of a closed off water tank. I believe I am the only person on this entire planet who knows what happened. I knew it the first time news of the strange video started circulating the internet weeks ago. I have just kept my mouth shut because there is a lot more to it and of course ... cases like this ... I just did not want to draw any attention to myself but I know exactly why they did it and yes it was indeed a ritualistic murder. Just like Paul Walker's.

However, for Lam's case I have so much detail that it may blow your mind," she continued. "I know it blew my mind and that's why I was debating on [whether] or not I should blog about it as I did not want to have anything to do with it ... except for the fact that this ritual murder was directly linked to my ritual murder last year ... So ... kinda makes it hard for me to talk about, but ...
Lam was the 21-year-old Canadian woman who was found dead in the rooftop water tank of the Los Angeles' Cecil Hotel in February. Walker, on the other hand, a star of the multibillion-dollar “Fast and Furious” movie series, died in a car crash on Nov. 30, along with the driver, his friend, Roger Rodas.

Meanwhile, Tequila has recently posted a series of pro-Hitler statements on Facebook. She wrote:
Once upon a time in a land far away there was a special and sweet kid who had a dream to become a painter. He was a brilliant artist and was ahead of his time. He had hopes, and dreams just like we all do.

Unfortunately, the art schools did not feel the same as he and they rejected him. Fast forward a few years later he was roughed up and bullied on top of that by the same people he once loved. His Name was Hitler.
In response to a harsh online response, Tequila wrote the following -- again, on Facebook -- on Monday, Dec. 9:
I never said I hated anyone, but just because I fee sympathy, compassion, and forgiveness for others such as Hitler means I am now a monster? All for trying to open your eyes to the truth that Hitler was NOT as bad as he was painted out to be?
Tequila also posted a since-deleted (but seen above) image of herself in Nazi garb, superimposed on an image of Auschwitz.

Paul Walker first responders' audio released; occupants reported DOA

On Friday, audio of first responders' speaking to fire dispatch on Saturday as they arrived at the Paul Walker crash scene last Saturday was released (via TMZ). The recording shows that emergency personnel knew right away that there was no chance anyone survived the fiery wreck.

Firefighters, who reportedly responded to the scene of the accident in under three minutes after the 911 call was made, told dispatch that the "Fast and the Furious" actor, along and the driver, Roger Rodas, were "two fatalities" and "dead on arrival."

Death was near instantaneous, according to Los Angeles County Coroner spokesman Ed Winter, who said
We didn’t give exact time of death, but it was probably within a nanosecond, pretty much instantaneous, not a matter of a minute or more.
For those unaware, both Rodas and Walker were involved in a severe single-car accident in Santa Clarita, Calif., last Saturday.

Both were killed. Walker is perhaps best known for his role as Brian O'Conner in "The Fast and the Furious" film series. He was 40.

Celebrity fitness blogger's post-pregnancy selfie raises hackles

A celebrity fitness blogger's selfie, taken -- she said -- four days after her daughter's birth, has engendered controversy, jealousy, and congratulations as well, as it has gone viral on the Internet, Yahoo reported Tuesday.

Caroline Berg Eriksen runs the biggest health and fitness blog in Norway. She is also married to Norwegian Premier League player Lars-Kristian Eriksen. The Instagram photo, shown above, had the following caption:
I feel so empty, and still not 4 days after birth
The image shos Eriksen with a toned stomach, seemingly enhanced breasts (which most breast-feeding moms can relate to), and little evidence of a recent childbirth.

While some comments on her Instagram post were complimentary, others were doubtful, or even critical.

One comments, baboforever, wrote:
Im not impressed by the body bc she was very fit before and worked out all through her pregnancy w personal trainer and I'm sure personal chef/nutritionist ... What amazes me is that after 4 days pp she has the energy (desire?) to get up, put on sexy lingerie, take a selfie and post it on IG!
On the other hand, juniord63 wrote:
Women in Hollywood do this all the time after giving birth... I thought keeping fit and healthy was a good thing... Girl keep doing the DAM THANG!!! Let the haters hate it don't matter what you do or how you do it there will always be haters...
Appearing on "Good Morning America," Eriksen said:
People kept telling me that my body would never be the same,” Berg Eriksen told ABC News. “I wanted to show everyone that’s not entirely true.

Right after birth – like three minutes after – I felt like myself again.
It's true, too, that Ericksen was exercising right up until the birth. Additionally, she never developed a very large baby bump. As tiana_bryant24 wrote:
its not suprising u look like that since u didnt gain much weight and u lose water weight quick after birth
Some though, felt that Eriksen's post gave some women a poor self-view. What do you readers think?

Miley Cyrus' 21st birthday party: The Lorax, Liam, and more [VIDEO]

Miley Cyrus advertised that her 21st birthday party would be wild, and she delivered as promised on Sunday night, with the embedded video (via TMZ) showing us highlights.

Among the guests was a Liam, but apparently not ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth, who Miley famously invited to the fete. Instead, guests included One Direction's Liam Payne and Niall Horan, along with Tyler the Creator, Kelly Osbourne, Emma Roberts, Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose and Cherie Daly.

Also appearing was The Lorax (yes, the Dr. Seuss character who speaks for the trees) a professional twerking team led by Amazon Ashley, and a horde of Miley's friends (and / or acquaintances) wearing masks with the "I'm not Hannah Montan any longer" girl's face on them.

There was booze flowing a'plenty. After all, Miley is now legal, when it comes to drinking. Her actual birthday was Saturday, Nov. 23, although the party took place after Sunday's American Music Awards.

Speaking of the AMAs, Miley didn't win anything.  She did perform "Wrecking Ball" in front of a gigantic feline, though, and we have to wonder if Miley was making a statement about other terms for a cat.

Since her 20th year was a big one, with positive things -- and negative things, such as the aforementioned split with Hemsworth -- we have to ask, what will 21 bring Miley (aside from a legal way to get booze)?

George Zimmerman arrested after authorities respond to domestic disturbance

George Zimmerman, he of the Trayvon Martin killing, has been arrested again. While it is not completely clear what what crime he has been accused of committing, just before 1:30 p.m. ET on Monday (via the Orlando Sentinel), Sheriff Don Eslinger confirmed that Zimmerman had been arrested and was being driven to the county jail in Sanford, Fla.

Authorities did tell the AP that Zimmerman was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance call at a house on Topfield Court in western Seminole County near Apopka . WESH-Channel 2 reported that Zimmerman was accused of domestic violence by a girlfriend.

Adding two and two together, his girlfriend, 27-year-old Samantha Scheibe, lives in the 1300 block of Topfield Court, according to an unrelated Lake Mary police report. Increasing the gravity of the situation, law enforcement reportedly said the Zimmerman's new girlfriend is pregnant.

Zimmerman's wife, Shellie Zimmerman, filed for divorce in August.

Zimmerman will be stuck in jail until at least tomorrow, assuming this is indeed a domestic violence case. In Seminole Country, all domestic violence suspects are held without bail until they make an initial appearance before a judge, who must decide whether there is enough evidence in the case and whether or not the suspect should be granted bail.

Zimmerman is expected to appear before Seminole County Judge Fred Schott tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in Sanford, Fla.

Zimmerman gained fame after he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teenager, in the gated community of Sanford, near Orlando, in February of 2012. While civil rights activists claimed that Zimmerman racially profiled Martin, who was African-American, he was acquitted of murder in July.

Authorities are still reviewing the original case to determine whether Martin's civil rights were violated.

'Andy Kaufman alive' incident labeled a hoax; watch the video

Andy Kaufman's career was full of both spectacularly funny and spectacularly strange events, and if this claim is true, it would be the strangest of them all -- that Andy Kaufman is still alive. Considering some of his stunts, it wouldn't be out of his nature to run such a prank, though. However, a Thursday report seems to indicate that the incident was all a hoax -- a hoax of Kaufman-esqe proportions.

TMZ reported on the incident on Wednesday. TMZ's report included a video.

In it, and during the closing speech at the Ninth Annual Andy Kaufman Awards at the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City, an unidentified woman approached the stage. She claimed that she was Kaufman's daughter and that he was still alive and has secretly been living as a stay-at-home dad with a wife and daughter (her).

Notably, Andy's brother Michael, who hosted the event, told a story about a letter he found while rifling through his brother's things. He sai that he found a letter Andy Kaufman wrote that explained a plan to fake his own death.

The latest reports say nay to all this, however. CinemaBlend has pointed out her resemblance to a photo of an actress, Alexandra Tatarsky, on a theater website. The Smoking Gun reports that Tatarsky met Michael Kaufman at a New York gallery during a show featuring a collection of "Andy Kaufman artifacts" and that the two planned the stunt together.

Watch the video and judge for yourself.

Rob Gronkowski mocks Asian fan, calls him 'fried rice cook'

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was hosting a Q&A with fans in Foxborough, Mass. on Sunday night at the Bar Louie Restaurant dancing broke out. That, it and of itself, is not a big deal, but what happened next was. As TMZ reported (with video embedded),

Gronkowski was taken aback -- for some reason -- with an Asian Patriots fan with a Gronkowski jersey joined in. Acting surprised, he joked
They told me he could only cook fried rice!
Yep, the TE moved deeply into the realm of unpolitical correctness (or political uncorrectness).

He then went still further off the deep end, by calling the fan "Leslie Chow." Chow is Ken Jeong's character from "The Hangover" movie series. Jeong also stars as Ben Chang on the NBC comedy series "Community."

There was a little concern on the part of at least one person at the gathering. That person took the microphone away from Gronkowski and reminded fans that they had all signed waivers agreeing to hand over any cell phone footage.

It's unclear if that was a serious statement by a rep of Gronkowski, the organizer, or the venue, but the embedded video apparently survived the event.

Holy smokes: Watch as Miley Cyrus lights up a joint onstage at the 2013 MTV EMAs

Never one to let her last outrageous public appearance stand without competition, appeared to light up onstage Sunday night at the 2013 MTV EMAs (European Music Awards) -- and not just a cigarette, either, but a joint -- NBC News reported.

Cyrus lit up on stage, right after accepting the award fpr best music video. She pulled out what MTV News reported was a joint and said:
I couldn't fit this award in my bag but I did find this, so thank you guys very much.
Although MTV cut that portion of the ceremony out, they also trumpeted that it was a joint online.

That wasn't all for Cyrus, though. She also twerked with both a giant alien and a dwarf, showing size was not an issue for her.

Although edited out of the MTV broadcast, you can view Cyrus' joint-smoking antics in the embedded video.

As noted, the awards ceremony was held in Amsterdam; in that country marijuana is in many cases sold legally.

No prostitute involved in viral Justin Bieber video: Report

Despite Justin Bieber's reported visit to a noted Brazilian brothel, the embedded video is not what it seems, TMZ said on Thursday.

The video, which went viral on YouTube, shows what appears to be a passed out Bieber in a bed, and shows an unidentified woman blowing a kiss to hims. Rumors quickly spread, perhaps fueled by Bieber's reported trip to Centauros, a Rio house of ill repute, that said that the woman was a prostitute.

According to reports from members of Bieber's camp -- which, naturally, should be taken with a grain of salt -- - Justin Bieber had rented a home outside of Rio to stay at during his Brazilian tour leg. After the show, he threw an after-party and invited about 50 people.

At some point during the party, Bieber fell asleep on a couch and one of the partygoers shot footage of the singer sleeping.

Meanwhile, it appears that Bieber was creeped out by the video. He is also -- friends say -- upset that he now has to defend himself against false claims of prostitution. The bottom line, according to TMZ and the Bieber camp members, is that there was no prostitution involved, at least outside of Centauros.

Brazilian 'Believe' tour leg: Watch Justin Bieber storm off after being hit with water bottle

Pop superstar Justin Bieber walked offstage on Saturday night after being hit in the hand with a water bottle (shown in embedded video). It was just one of the Brazilian snafus that have occurred in this leg of his "Believe" tour, as the Globe and Mail also reported on his Saturday night tardiness and his visit to an infamous Brazilian brothel.

Bieber was close to the end of his set singing "Boyfriend," which he has been following up with "Baby" on his tour. The bottle water knocked his microphone out of his hand, after which he who looked menacingly into the audience prior to turning and walking off without saying a word.

Fans stayed in hopes of a return, but it was not to be. Bieber had already annoyed the crowd, as he arrived 20 minutes late to his concert at Anhembi Arena, another example of his tardiness to his venues. In addition, Bieber showed up over three hours late for a scheduled meet-and-greet with fans, who were given only a few moments with him despite reportedly paying up to $1,500.

In terms of the brothel, Bieber apparently spent three hours at an infamous Rio de Janeiro house of ill repute named Centauros before attempting to exit anonymously. That didn't work too well, as everyone recognized his bodyguards.

Photos that appear to show Bieber, wrapped in a bedsheet and leaving the brothel made the front pages of papers all over Brazil.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson signed to star as 'Quicksilver' in 'Avengers: The Age of Ultron'

He's barely faster than a speeding bullet, but he's Marvel Comics' speedster, nonetheless. Already cast for the movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past," where he will be played by Evan Peters, on Wednesday it was announced (via The Wrap) that “Kick-Ass” star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has signed to play Quicksilver in the upcoming "Avengers" sequel, "Avengers: The Age of Ultron."

How are two different studios able to use the same Marvel character? Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told SuperHeroHype how it works, last May. Speaking of both Pietro "Quicksilver" Maximoff and his sister, Wanda "The Scarlet Witch" Maximoff, who are both mutants, he discussed how Marvel Studios and Fox could use both characters.
We both [studios] have them [Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch]. There's a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with "Avengers," but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. They can use them as mutants and as Magneto's relatives [they are twins, and his children], but cannot have anything to do with "The Avengers."
Like DC Comics' Flash, Quicksilver possesses super-speed, but his top velocity is nowhere near that of DC's Scarlet Speedster. The Flash, using the Speed Force, can run at speeds approaching or even exceeding light speed, while Quicksilver is relegated to speeds up to Mach 10.

Quicksilver's sister, Wanda Maximoff (aka The Scarlet Witch), is also going to be featured in the "Avengers" sequel. Elizabeth Olsen is rumored to have been cast in the role, with Samuel L. Watch as the first 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' trailer teases the film's timeline split

The first "X-Men: Days of Future Past" trailer was released by Marvel Studios on Tuesday (to YouTube), and while not revealing much of the plot to those unfamiliar with the classic tale, it certainly reinforces for those aware of the "Days of Future Past" storyline.

The more than two-minute long clip opens to Professor X -- the original, Patrick Stewart, not James McAvoy from the rebooted "X-Men: First Class" -- saying "What's the last thing you remember?" to an ominous theme. We see Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), and a frightened looking Storm (Halle Berry).

The narration continues as we see key components of the storyline, including Ellen Page, who plays the current timeframe's Shadowcat. "I had a glimpse into the past. You're going to have to do for me what I once did for you."

We then hear Magneto -- the original, Ian McKellen -- as he says "You'll need me as well. Side by side, through endless war. Before it ever begins."

Then, we see Wolverine saying, "So, I wake up in my younger body and then what?"

"Find me," says Professor X. "Convince me of all this."

"It's going to take the two of us," Magneto adds.

"And where do I find you?" Wolverine replies.

Magneto says: "A different path. A darker path."

Professor X says: "Logan, I was a very different man. Lead me. Guide me. Be patient with me."

To that, Wolverine admits, "Patience isn't my strongest suit."

We then see some action footage, and the trailer concludes with the aged Professor X saying to his younger self, "Please. We need you to hope again."

Those who recall the classic comic book storyline will remember it spanned "The Uncanny X-Men" issues 141 and 142, published in 1981. Written by Chris Claremont, it was drawn by John Byrne and inked by Terry Austin.

In the classic comic book storyline, "Days of Future Past," readers were cast into an alternate future which was triggered by the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly by The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. That incident led to members of mutantkind being either killed or imprisoned in internment camps.

In the comics, that included those who were not X-Men, but were mutants, such as Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue Richards of the Fantastic Four.

In an attempt to prevent the event, an older Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) transfers her mind into the past and a younger, present-day Kitty Pryde. As shown in the trailer, that trip to the past is taken by Wolverine, by far the most popular of the X-Men in both comics and movies, rather than Shadowcat.

As the comic book tale opens, only a few X-Men remain alive: Kitty Pride, Wolverine, Storm , and Colossus. As Kitty Pryde attempts to stop the assassination of Senator Kelly, in the alternate future, all -- even Wolverine -- are killed. Despite his adamantium skeleton and rapid healing factor, Wolverine is vaporized by a Sentinel, too fast even for his healing process to cope with. Only his metal skeleton is left behind -- but this should not occur, as the storyline is far different.

In the comcs, Kitty Pryde's mission succeeds, and that dystopian future is gone, never to occur.

Rachel Summers, who took the name Phoenix, also traveled back in time as part of the story. Despite being from an alternate future, she stayed, and became a member of the X-Men.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is scheduled for a release on May 23, 2014, moved up from an earlier July date.

Conrad Murray makes a double-double his first post-jail meal

We doubt that In-N-Out Burger will use this in their advertising, but after Conrad Murray was released from jail on Monday at 12:01 a.m., his first stop -- meal-wise, anyway -- was the iconic fast-food joint, TMZ reported.

Despite the calories in the meal, it's doubtful that Murray will gain weight -- at least over his pre-incarceration weight, anyway. The images depicting Murray showed him looking about 20 pounds lighter now. Murray reportedly inhaled a double-double, which has about 670 calories, depending on the condiments and add-ons.

Murray, 60, was sentenced to the maximum four-year term for involuntary manslaughter in pop superstar Michael Jackson's death, which took place on June 25, 2009, from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol. Murray has been imprisoned since November of 2011.

Although he was sentenced to a four-year term, typical of such sentences, he was granted parole well ahead of that final date.

During his time behind bars, Murray wrote a large portion of a what could end up being an autobiography, assuming he can land a publisher. Current reports are that despite the amount already penned, no publishers are currently waiting for the tome.

Additionally, Murray is apparently open to a reality TV show, following his life after jail. It's unclear if any networks or producers have approached him already.

Missing from the Kardashian / West engagement proceedings: Bruce Jenner

One member of the Kardashian clan was not invited to Kanye West's "surprise" proposal at AT&T Park, TMZ reported on Thursday. We'll give you ten seconds to take a guess.

That's right, it was Bruce Jenner who was excluded from the ceremony. Not only that, it was reported that the former Olympic gold medal winner had no idea that n fact, he had no idea his stepdaughter, Kim, was getting engaged until after the fact.

It's unclear if the estrangement between matriarch Kris Jenner and Bruce caused the exclusion. After all, as you might recall, it's been clear for some time that the relationship between Bruce Jenner and Kim Kardashian's fiance was strained. In June, Jenner said that he'd only met West once, and that West "hadn't been around much."

Jenner was reportedly not that excited when Kim and Kanye got together so soon after her break-up with Kris Humphries. He cautioned her over a possible "rebound" relationship.

No matter the absence, though, Jenner was the first person Kim Kardashian called after the engagement took place. Notably, it's been said before that KK considers Jenner her "real" father.

Katharine McPhee caught dallying with 'Smash' director Michael Morris; affair or just dating?

Katharine McPhee ("Smash," "American Idol") has been caught dallying with her former "Smash" director, Michael Morris, in photos published by TMZ on Tuesday. We say dallying because both are still currently married to others, although both marriages appear in trouble.

McPhee, 29, has been married since 2008 to 47-year-old producer Nick Cokas; the couple has no children. Meanwhile, Morris has been married to Mary McCormack, 44, since July of 2003. They have three daughters, Margaret (born 2004), Rose (born 2007), and Lillian (born 2011).

Sources close to McPhee and Cokas told TMZ that the have been separated for six months and are living separately. Life & Style magazine reported, similarly, that a family friend said that the couple have "been separated for six months."

There is no report on trouble in the Morris / McCormack marriage. However, Morris and McPhee were quite public with their display of affection.

Morris and McPhee met on the set of the NBC musical drama "Smash," which was canceled in May of this year, following its second season.

Happy birthday Kim K., now marry me (guess what she said)

Happy birthday, Kim (Kardashian) and happy engagement, as well. During a bash at San Francisco's AT&T Park (home of the San Francisco Giants), Kanye West proposed to KK. As you might expect, considering the couple welcomed their daughter, North West (ugh) into the world only four months ago, she accepted (via the New York Daily News).

West proposed to Kardashian with a 15-carat diamond ring made by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. According to reports, he went traditional: West, 36, got down on one knee to propose to Kardashian, 33. This will be his first walk down the aisle, and her third.

Reportedly, West also arranged for the Jumbotron screen to read "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!" In addition, a 50-piece orchestra played Lana Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" and Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and (yes) West's "Knock You Down."

Kardashian was previously married to Damon Thomas (2000–2004) and Kris Humphries (2011–2013), with the second marriage lasting only 72 days before she filed for divorce.

Once KK accepted, friends and family joined the couple on the field. As such, a number of images have appeared on Instagram -- including the huge rock on her engagement ring.

No date has been set yet. The couple went public with their relationship about 18 months ago.

A slideshow of images from the engagement "party" can be found here.

Director Michael Bay attacked on Hong Kong set of 'Transformers 4'

Director Michael Bay was injured on Thursday when he was attacked during filming in Hong Kong. He was reportedly on set for the fourth "Transformers" movie, and was attacked by two brother, surnamed Mak, who demanded HK$100,000 ($12,900), according to Today.com.

The incident took place in Hong Kong, where filming is currently being done. When Bay refused to hand over the money, the elder Mak assaulted him. When three police officers attempted to intervene, the same man attacked them, as well.

The younger brother was arrested on suspicion of blackmail and assault, while the elder Mak was also arrested on suspicion of assault, she said. A third man, surnamed Chan, was arrested, as well.

Although Bay sustained injuries to the right side of his face, he declined to seek treatment, a spokeswoman said. She added that she did not believe his injuries were serious, and that seemed to be confirmed by the fact that filming continued after the incident.

The three police officers were treated in hospital for minor injuries, while the younger Mak asked to be taken in for treatment as well, saying he felt ill.

"Transformers 4," also known as "Transformers: Age of Extinction," is scheduled for a June 27, 2014 release.

Kim Kardashian's 16.21-carat engagement ring fetches 3/4 of a million dollars

Kim Kardashian's engagement ring, which she received from ex-husband Kris Humphries back in 2011, sold at auction for $749,000, the USA Today reported on Tuesday. While that sounds expensive -- and it is -- the sale price is discounted about 62.5 percent from its original estimate of $2 million when NBA star Humphries first gifted it to the reality queen.

The 16.21-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring had been estimated, pre-sale, to go for between $300,000 and $500,000. It sold in the last lot in the "Magnificent Jewels" auction at Christie's on Tuesday morning.

A Christie's spokesperson said, in a statement:
[The ring] saw active participation in the room, on the phone banks, and from Christie's LIVE. This impressive diamond ring was sought out by two bidders in the back of the room, one online bidder, and was ultimately won by a bidder on the phone.
Humprhies and Kardashian were wed in August of 2011, just a few months after they were engaged. By that Halloween, she had filed for divorce.

The divorce was finally finalized on June 3, 2013. That was just two weeks before Kardashian gave birth to her daughter North, who was fathered by her current beau, Kanye West.

'Walking' and 'Talking': Both AMC 'Dead' season 4 openers set ratings records

Another season premiere of "The Walking Dead," and another record. AMC's zombie-fest set a new ratings record for Sunday's season four debut, the USA Today reported on Tuesday.

The episode, "30 Days Without an Accident," grabbed 16.1 million sets of eyes, a series record, along with 10.4 million viewers in the key 18 to 49 demographic. With that, "The Walking Dead," a cable show, has become the highest rated show -- in all of TV -- thus far in the new season, in that coveted age group.

The show's prior records were set in the season three finale, which saw 12.4 million viewers overall and 8.1 million 18-49 viewers. That certainly bodes well for both the mid-season finale -- AMC splits the show's sixteen-episode season into two eight-episode halves -- and the season four finale.

AMC President Charlie Collier said,
Sincere thanks to the fans, who have welcomed "The Walking Dead" back for its fourth season with the highest-rated episode in the show’s history.
The post-episode chat show "The Talking Dead" also set a ratings record, with 5.1 million viewers, including 3.3 million in the key 18-49 demographic.

'Walking Dead' season four premiere: '30 Days Without An Accident' doesn't reach 31

The fourth season of "The Walking Dead" premiered on Sunday (via AMC), and as with season three, time has passed for our "Walking Dead" group, with things changing. The overarching theme, though, is still there: survive the zombie apocalypse, with no end in sight.

The title of the episode, "30 Days Without An Accident," tells you the survivors have gone a month without losing a member. It starts off slowly, but you can bet there would be a death somewhere, and you'd be right.

With Woodbury and the Governor -- still at large from season three, mind you -- a memory, the prison group is trying to live on. Rick, for one, is no longer the "dictator," but rather is shown "farming" at the beginning of the episode. Meanwhile, though, it's clear that even just standing there, the prison has attracted more zombie attention than before, as volunteers are forced to slow down the numbers -- and prevent them, perhaps, from breaking through the ever-so-tenuous fence -- stabbing and killing the walkers through the fence.

Who's in charge, though? With Rick no longer in that role, there is a new council overseeing things: Carol, Glenn, Hershel, Sasha and Daryl.

Of these, Sasha is the newest to the group. She is Tyreese's younger sister, and represents, so to speak, the Woodbury survivors.

Where is the action, though? Are we seeing a return to season two's relative -- until the end -- peace? Not really. Farming isn't enough to sustain the group, so Rick volunteers to check the traps they use for game, while a group led by Daryl prepares to raid a local shop.

Daryl, Glenn, newcomer Zach, Sasha, Micchone and another new arrival, Bob, head off to Big Sp!t, a big-box store. Glenn fights to keep Maggie at the prison. As he later pauses at a store display featuring baby pictures, it seems Maggie is probably pregnant. Zach, it turns out, is Beth's boyfriend, which we know means he's not long for the series.

And he is not. Bob screws things up royally when, upon trying to decide if he does or does not want to fall off the wagon, he puts a bottle back on a wine shelf, only to see it collapse. At this point, the zombies on the roof of the store begin raining down, and the typical WD fight begins.

Zach, however, gets bitten on the leg. So long, Zach, we barely knew ye.

Meanwhile, Rick is out checking those traps when he runs into an Irish woman who begs to be added to the ranks of the prison's group. Rick agrees if she and her husband will answer three questions first (and, we presume, if they answer in a way he likes)

She takes him back to her husband. However, her husband isn't alive, but undead. Eddie, it seems, loves fresh meat, so she turns on Rick and tries to kill him. Eventually, though, she turns her knife on herself, and kills herself, as the guilt of what she had done to survive was too much for her.

The three questions, by the way, were: “How many walkers have you killed?,” “How many people have you killed?,” and “Why?”

We find out that Maggie isn't pregnant, after all. We also find out that Carol is holding "Story Time" for the children. However, as soon the lone adult attendee leaves, we learn that Story Time is actually self-defense time. Carl, naturally, needs no such training, and Carol begs him not to tell Rick.

Newcomer Patrick, though, isn't feeling to well, and heads off to vomit. Instead, though, he dies and reanimates.

The title of the next episode gives us a clue as to what is happening: "Infected."

AMC's sneak peek at the episode is embedded.

Reason Michael Douglas lied about cancer: Not oral sex, but possible disfigurement

In June, Michael Douglas revealed that his cancer battle was not against throat cancer, as he originally said back in 2010, but cancer of the tongue. On Thursday, Wonderwall reported that he misled fans about the problem, not because of embarrassment over the cause, but rather because treatment could possibly have led to cutting away a section of his jaw.

Douglas was being interviewed by fellow actor Samuel L. Jackson as part of the British TV show "This Morning's Male Cancer Week." He told Jackson of the initial moment he was informed of his diagnosis.
[The doctor] said, "Let's just say it's throat cancer." I said, "OK." [He said] "We don't want to say it's tongue cancer." I said, "Why is that?" He said, "If you really want to know why, if we do have to do surgery it's not going to be pretty. You lose part of your jaw and your tongue and all that stuff." I was [saying], "OK, sure. I'm with you."

I wouldn't be able to talk. [I would have to do] silent movies! [When directors ask,] "What's your good side?" [I'd be saying] "I'll tell you what my good side is - right here! I have no side over here.
Speaking in June to The Guardian, Douglas said that his cancer was possibly caused by oral sex. He said:
No. No. Because, without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV [human papillomavirus], which actually comes about from cunnilingus.

From cunnilingus. I mean, I did worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer. And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it.
Asked at the time, doctors agreed with Douglas' rather blunt assessment.

Again speaking to Jackson, Douglas said he has had his final checkup. He said:
[The checkups] start out every three months and then after that you get to six months, and just before I got here I had my last checkup because I passed two years, and I'm clean. And with my type of cancer, if you're clean after two years, there's a 95 percent chance it's not coming back.

Book says Sheryl Crow witnessed Lance Armstrong doping

It's long been wondered if musician Sheryl Crow witnessed Lance Armstrong doping at any time during their relationship.  The answer, USA Today said on Thursday, is yes.

The information actually comes via two Wall Street Journal reporters, Reed Albergotti and Vanessa O’Connell, in their new book, "Wheelmen: Lance Armstrong, the Tour de France, and the Greatest Sports Conspiracy Ever." That book is set to launch into retail stores on Oct. 15.

The authors wrote:
Rather than try to hide the transfusion from her, Armstrong was completely open about it. He trusted that Crow would have no desire to tell the press or anyone else about the team's doping program. He explained that it was simply part of the sport -- that all cyclists were doing the same thing.
Crow and Armstrong were briefly engaged, but broke up in 2006. Crow Later told federal investigators about what she'd seen, according to the book.

Armstrong, after years of denials and legal threats against any who claimed he doped, recently came clean to Oprah Winfrey. The Justice Department is currently suing Armstrong as well as several members of his inner circle.

The lawsuit aims to recover some or all of the the tens of millions of dollars that the the U.S. Postal Service paid to Armstrong and his teams when they sponsored him.

The lawsuit, as detailed in a DOJ press release, was filed under the False Claims Act, "which imposes liability on those who submit false claims for government funds, and provides for the recovery of three times the government’s damages, plus civil penalties."

Miley Cyrus under fire for SNL joke about 'tiny strokes'

Miley Cyrus is under fire again, this time for a joke she made while hosting "Saturday Night Live" last weekend. On Wednesday, the U.K.'s Stroke Association issued a press release (via the New York Daily News) criticizing the singer for her joke that the reason she favors sticking out her tongue as a "signature image" is because she is always experiencing "tiny strokes" (video embedded).

The comment came during the show's opening segment. The 20-year-old pop superstar was visited by "Old Miley," a send-up of Miley's "Hannah Montana" timeframe self portrayed by Vanessa Bayer. Cyrus' response when asked why she was constantly sticking out her tongue was "I'm having tiny strokes, yo!"

Patrick Olszowski Head of Campaigns and Policy at the Stroke Association, said:
Having a mini-stroke is no laughing matter. Around 46,000 people in the UK have a mini-stroke (Transient Ischaemic Attack) each year, with one in ten leading to a major stroke.

Sticking out your tongue is not a sign of having a stroke. Instead think FAST. If a person’s face starts drooping, they can’t lift their arm or they can’t speak, it is time to call 999. Having a stroke is a serious medical emergency. With the right care and support, as well as compassion from those around them, people can make fantastic recoveries.
FAST has been advertised as the way to go by U.S. stroke associations, too. FAST or F.A.S.T. is:
  • Facial weakness: Can the person smile? Has their mouth or eye drooped?
  • Arm weakness: Can the person raise both arms?
  • Speech problems: Can the person speak clearly and understand what you say?
  • Time to call 999.
As quoted by The Mirror, Cyrus has not escaped social media criticism:
You and your writers should read about strokes before joking about it. Strokes affect people your age, too.
A second tweeted:
That "stroke joke" was a cruel thing for Miley to say in front of millions of people.
The blame should be spread around, though.  She didn't write the joke; she was just the "messenger," as SNL writers gave it to her to perform.

Crotchety' ABC 'Wonderland' promo featuring Snow White goes viral with 'powerful privates'

ABC made a big marketing mistake during the latest episode of "Once Upon a Time," and as the New York Daily News said on Tuesday, video clips of the FUBAR have gone viral. However, actress Ginnifer Goodwin, featured in the promo, took it all in stride as she posted a humorous tweet about it on Monday.

The video of the mistake is embedded. It is a promo for the show's spin-off, "Wonderland," but an awkward one that shows an animated version of the White Rabbit drawing a hole that lines up perfectly with Snow White’s crotch. To make matters worse, Snow White delivers the punch line:
You’re searching for something powerful enough to vanquish the queen.
Goodwin, noting the story was first picked up by EW, tweeted:
Dear @EW, it's just a @OnceABC + @WonderlandOUAT crotchover! And I'm not viral.
"Once Upon a Time" and "Wonderland" showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz also responded. Kitsis joked:
I never thought I would have so many emails about Ginny’s vagina. It’s embarrassing, but at the same time, it’s so silly it’s hard to take serious. It’s so obvious that somebody didn’t realize what they were doing.
Meanwhile, Horowitz added:
We’re grateful ABC is spending so much time promoting both shows, but it was an interesting cross-promotion.
"Wonderland" premieres on Thursday, but in a tough time slot at 8 p.m.

'Carrie' prank sends New York coffee shop patrons running

A New York City coffee shop was used by producers of the upcoming "Carrie" movie remake to prank a number of unsuspecting customers. The video was posted to YouTube on Monday.

The location was an actual coffee shop, 'Snice Cafe in West Village in New York City. We have to wonder how much the producers paid the shop for use of its location; not only did they put up a fake wall for the stunt, they also installed a number of remotely controlled tables and chairs and you had to figure the shop was empty for a while after the panic ensued.

Yes, there was panic. The idea was to show a man "spill" a woman's coffee, after which the telekinetically-endowed woman pins him to the wall and makes chairs and tables go askew.

"Carrie," of course, is a movie about a young teen who has telekinetic powers. According to Wikipedia, the new version is more faithful to the 1974 Stephen King novel than the original 1976 movie, which starred Sissy Spacek.

Originally scheduled to release to theaters on March 15, 2013, the film's public launch was later postponed to Oct. 18, 2013. That puts it closer to Halloween, but according to lead actress Chloe Moretz, that was done not to move it closers to an appropriate holiday, but to "extend certain scenes and amp up their level of horror."

Instagram Image purportedly shows Justin Bieber smoking in the company of Ariana Grande

Doesn't anyone remember that Justin Bieber's partying policy is that any pictures belong to him? A new photo hit the rounds of social media on Monday, including Twitter. The key, though, is that many believe the photo shows Bieber again enjoying a toke of marijuana.

The photo reportedly originated on Instagram. This isn't the first time Bieber has been caught on camera purportedly smoking weed. This is, as was the other case, just a supposition, though.

Another interesting tidbit in the photo is a young woman next to Bieber, one who looks strikingly like Ariana Grande, who Bieber has reportedly flirted with. Grande has publicly denied anything more than a friendship with the Biebs.

According to TMZ, sources close to both singers said the girl in the photo wasn't Ariana Grande, after all, and that the image had been Photoshopped to make it appear that Bieber was lighting up some weed.

TMZ's art department, though, disagreed, saying the photo did not appear doctored.

The photo of Bieber and the lookalike emerged on the same day as a tweet from Grande's ex-boyfriend, Jai Lewis, who accused, that her of cheating on him. His long Twitter rant, though, accused her of cheating with her current beau, Nathan Sykes.

While not naming names, Grande tweeted what looked to be a response, in which she said "You said to me if I didn't come back to you, you'd make me look bad to the entire world."

Miley Cyrus tells over-40 Matt Lauer that anyone over 40 is over the hill sexually

Miley Cyrus says her hypersexual phase -- which seems highlighted by incidents such as her VMA Awards appearance and her "Wrecking Ball" video, is kind of a phase. After all, as she told "Today's" Matt Lauer on Monday (via TMZ) that once folks reach 40, their sexual days are done.

That sort of implies that Cyrus' recent antics are just a phase, one that will end at 40. Or will it?

She said,
I think it’s only hard if you’re trying to be something you’re not. Being who you are is really easy if you’re really true to that. I heard when you turn 40 things start to go a little less sexual. So probably around 40, I heard that’s when people don’t have sex anymore. I guess maybe around then.
When asked how old she thought Lauer was, Cyrus showed that she couldn't be a carnie performer who picked out ages. She thought he was around 40, but Lauer is 55. To that, she said,
Then you're really definitely not sexual.
Ouch.

Watch the video, embedeed.

Best-selling 'Red Storm Rising' author Tom Clancy, dead at 66

Best-selling author Tom Clancy, who penned such hits as "The Hunt for Red October," "Patriot Games," and "Red Storm Rising," died on Tuesday night at the age of 66, his publisher confirmed on Wednesday (via the New York Daily News).

Clancy passed away in a Baltimore hospital near his Maryland home; at this point the cause of death is unclear.

Clancy was famous for writing historically and technically accurate novels. He sold his first book, "The Hunt for Red October," to Naval Institute Press for a mere $5,000. Not only did the novel sell over five million copies, it served as the basis for the hit 1990 film by the same name, which starred Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin (as Jack Ryan, who ended up being featured in in eight of Clancy's novels).

"The Hunt for Red October" ended up grossing $200.5 million globally, on a budget of $30 million -- and remember, those are 1990 dollars. The novel, meanwhile, was one of Naval Institute Press' first fictional publications, and is still their most successful.

A new Tom Clancy novel, "Command Authority," is scheduled for release on Dec. 3. This novel is co-authored by Mark Greaney.

In addition, a new film, "Jack Ryan," will continue the adventures of Clancy's favorite character. Previously played by Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck, this incarnation of the character will be portrayed by Chris Pine ("Star Trek Into Darkness").

Saoirse Ronan confirms auditioning for new 'Star Wars' film

Saoirse Ronan, whose highly anticipated movie "The Host" was not big at the box office, but rather a big flop, may have a sure blockbuster in her future. She told Sky News on Tuesday that she indeed has auditioned for a part in the upcoming "Star Wars" film (Episode VII).

While confirming rumors that came a few weeks ago from the normally very accurate Latino Review, Ronan was modest about auditioning. She said, "so has everyone."

It's unclear if that is the case, but it is clear that the original trio of "Star Wars" stars, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher are all anxious to perform in the new movie, and expected to, as well. Also named in multiple rumors are Benedict Cumberbatch, Ryan Gosling, Leonardo DiCaprio and Simon Pegg.

Cumberbatch and Pegg could join director J.J. Abrams as crossing over from the rebooted "Star Trek" franchise to "Star Wars."

It’s thought Ronan may have auditioned for the part of Han Solo (Ford) and Princess Leia’s (Fisher) daughter. However, when asked to reveal more about the film, she said simply that producers would "chop off her head with a light saber" if she revealed any more details.

Smaug is dragon, hear him roar: new 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' trailer

A new trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" gives viewers another peek at the upcoming middle volume of "The Hobbit" movie trilogy. The video was released on Tuesday on YouTube, and elsewhere, and is embedded.

An earlier, two minute long trailer was released in June, and despite its length, was called a teaser. It gave fans the first look at Smaug, the film's dragon antagonist. This time around, fans get to hear what a dragon sounds like, as Smaug's rumbling, deep growls only serve to emphasize the trouble that Bilbo Baggins finds himself in at the end of the trailer.

In this trailer, we watch the company of dwarves that Bilbo is traveling with near their goal of reclaiming their homeland. We also see more footage of Legolas in action, alongside Evangeline Lilly, who plays fellow elf Tauriel (a character specifically created for the film).

"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" hits theaters on Dec. 13.
