Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise, Suri Cruise to reunite for a 'fun Thanksgiving holiday'

Katie Holmes and daughter Suri will spend Thanksgiving with Tom Cruise, it's been reported. Despite the couple's divorce earlier in the year, Thanksgiving is a time for families to get together.

A source close to the couple spoke with Britain's OK! According to the source, the couple wants to show daughter Suri, 6, that they can still be civil to each other. The source said,
Tom and Katie are determined to show Suri that they're still friends and devoted parents. They know it will mean so much for her, and both are happy to swallow their pride to make sure she has a fun holiday. Thanksgiving has always been a really big deal for them.
The couple are reported to be jetting to in Telluride, Colo. with daughter Suri.

Thanksgiving is a big deal for many families, but the couple split earlier this year when on June 29, 2012, it was announced that Holmes had filed for divorce in New York from Cruise after five years of marriage.

According to follow-up reports, Holmes had been planning the divorce proceedings for some time, including setting up residence in New York so she could file there; odds of her getting sole custody of Suri were much higher in New York.

At issue in the divorce was Suri Cruise' upbringing. Insiders said Katie Holmes was afraid of the possibility of Suri being "indoctrinated" into Scientology.

On July 9, 2012, it was announced that the couple signed a divorce settlement worked out by their lawyers. This was the first divorce for Holmes and the third divorce for Cruise who was previously wed to Mimi Rogers (1987–90) and Nicole Kidman (1990–2001).
