Anime Proves "Two Nukes Not Enough": NH State Rep

In 2003, acclaimed Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki, who has created many animated motion pictures, won an Oscar for "Spirited Away." Apparently, that's no evidence that anime is of any worth, as two nukes just weren't enough, at least for New Hampshire state representative Nick Levasseur (D).

Levasseur reportedly updated his Facebook status to say this on Thursday:
"anime is a prime example of why two nukes just wasn't enough...."
You can watch a local news video below. The report goes on to state the obvious: the statement "could be deemed as insensitive toward the Japanese heritage." Er, however, it should also be obvious that it's not just the Japanese who watch anime.

Levasseur apologized, stating that the remark was meant to be private. That, of course, makes it all better. Who would want to nuke Kiki (above, from another Miyazaki film, "Kiki's Delivery Service."

Of course, the GOP in NH jumped on it immediately, asking NH's Gov. Lynch to ask his party to stop participating in such "shameful behavior," forgetting of course, Larry Craig, Paul Stanley,
Mark Foley (and those are just some of the ones involved in sex scandals). This Levasseur incident is just foot in mouth disease, not dick in *** disease.

There seems to be a misconception among some people that everyone in Japan is into video games and anime. Not so. Spirited Away director Hayao Miyazaki is not into video games.

Did they even consider the consequences of their actions? I think the insult [insert a specific type of support from a country here] publicly and see if you can get away with increases of eyebrows.

And they should nuke us for Ke$ha. The only thing preventing a thermonuclear apocalypse is a sort of pop-culture MAD policy.

WTF (that's "why", not "what") would this a-hole even make the comment? I imagine there are a whole lot more Republicans who would say "WTF (that's "what") is anime?" and not give a crap either way then there are those Republicans who actually like anime (like me) who would think this dude is a chode.
