I personally find it a sad reflection on American society that there is so much attention given to trivialities and so little given to genuine virtue. Americans should be celebrating Scotty's victory for the USA !! Is this what we are about ? Have these critics considered the good that could come from exposing the unique qualities and character that it took for Scotty to get to the Olympics and win an olympic medal for our country ? Scotty Lago is a role model and a champion. Thank you Scotty for bringing glory to America and CONGRATULATIONS on your success !!

I agree, this is so trivial I can't imagine why the USOC made such an ordeal of it. They are becoming far too conservative, it seems they don't care much for their own ratings. I would have gone a different route, I would have secretly pushed this photo everywhere so that more people would see it ... that would undoubtably turn into higher ratings for the olympics.
