Sarah Palin Divorce Story Earns Blogger a Libel Suit Threat

A story about a possible Sarah Palin divorce from husband Todd may earn a blogger a liberl suit, or at least that's what the Palin camp threatened on Saturday. The "ImmoralMinority" blog, which first posted the story, was given until 3 PM Saturday to remove the story and post a retraction, but the blogger, Gryphen, stands by his story.

No such "Sarah Palin Divorce" retraction has been printed, and the Alaska Report, which indicated that it verified the story with its own sources, hasn't reported a similar threat against itself.

However, the Alaska Report did print the letter from Palin's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, who asked Gryphen "if you do not have an attorney, please let me know if you want to be served with the summons and complaint at the kindergarten where you assist or at your residence."

For the Sarah Palin divorce report to be libel, it would have to be malicious, and Gryphen told the Alaska report:

"Nothing that I wrote in my post was meant to be malicious. I trust my source and simply reported what I had been told. Threatening to serve legal papers to an educator in a room full of five year olds? Now that is malicious."

Don't gossiping liars have anything better to do with their time? Sheesh. GET OVER IT ALREADY! Why keep coming up with more lies about Palin? Why keep shining a spotlight on her? Shine the spotlight elsewhere as in on OBAMA and his SOCIALIST AGENDA that he's trying to shove down all of our throats. CHANGE that you can certainly BELIEVE IN!

Doesn't Palin realize that all these legal threats further publicize the claims and make the claims look true to many people.

*shakes her head* Poor, poor Ace. Now, calling Obama a socialist when he clearly has no socialist agenda is fairly malicious. Commenting and speculating on the moral dealings of a woman who campaigns to be part of the moral majority is just common sense.

I agree with libholm -- she's simply stoking the gossip flames...otherwise, this would have been (like so many other Palin stories) on the fringes of internet gossip, and no reasonable person would have cared or given them merit. Her lack of judgment is appalling, and a clear indication that she is in no condition to run for a higher office.

This business of suing someone gives a bit more credibility to what Luke said about the reason that she quit the governorship. His suggestion was that she needed the money that would come from a book published, and it looks here as if she is after another source of money. She would be much better off if she just went back to mayoring in Wasilla and fishing in the lake behind her house.

I agree with libholm - it just gossip ... Otherwise provoke fire, it's like so many other Palin stories (is on the fringes of the Internet), gossip, and no reasonable person would care about them or have merit. His lack of decision is appalling, and a clear sign that he is in no position to run for a higher position.
