Ann Coulter wants to repeal the 19th Amendment

Now why would Ann Coulter want to do that? And many of you are probably asking, "what is the 19th Amendment." The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote.

According to Coulter (in an interview in the New York Observer earlier this week):
If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.
Now, for some reason I don't think this is going to go over very well with either Democrat-leaning or Republican-leaning women.

Coulter has made some outlandish statements, for example, referring to John Edwards as a "f*ggot" earlier in the year, but this really takes the cake.

I like this woman. But, never, ever try to take away something from a woman you have given her.
Geez, as a guy, I learned that before I could walk. Educating these women voters would go a lot further in the quest to keep a Democrat out of the White House.

Ann Coulter BRAINS, BEAUTY, EVERYTHING, SOMETIMES GOD DOES DO PERFECT WORK.

Anonymous said...

"Educating these women"...what a moron you are. No, I think women are quite well-educated compared with the males in this country. Watch out, white boys, you are rapidly becoming the minorities in this country. And when that happens, the US will hopefully never again elect an anti-American neo-con and begin working towards restoring both our Constituion and fiscal sanity.

This lunatic is so desperate for attention she will say anything. She deserves no attention whatsoever. Nothing she says shocks me; what is shocking is the number of retarded people out there who take her seriously and actually agree with her. Maybe we should require an IQ test before allowing people to vote? The Republicans would go the way of the Whig party in one election cycle!

I have so had enough of the media and their crazy Nazi-Republican talking heads. Time to take back America, people, and stop letting the right wing and their media try to turn us into 1930's Germans! Enough is enough.

What's next? A a mandatory veil for women, a one child per couple state, or perhaps a good old weekly book burning? If we as a people in this great nation of ours decide to take voting rights from democratic or otherwise opined women, then we are doomed and history will repeat itself. What does the constitution really do for women? Our "freedoms" are being ripped from the soul of the constitution everyday. It's time the White House good ole' boys end their term of experimentation with this nations' people and it's laws. Canada and South America are having a good laugh about now.

I would personally vote for Ann Coulter and I am a female. She says things that a man wouldn't. Most women are intellectually stupid, take abortion for instance. Planned Parenthood says, "Let us say abortion is for a woman's health" and lo and behold the women started parroting what PP said. We all know that with medical technology that abortion isn't necessary. Just a quick and easy way to get rid of child.

Democrats are lemmings in the truest sense of the Disney camera crews herding the poor dolts right off the cliff into the drink, just like their MoveOn.com handlers. Best quit the blue kool-aid--does weird things to the stool.
And neither party is particularly good at fiscal policy, Constitution, or grammar. You guys quit pointing the fingers and go study the Madison notes--might hurt your brains learning something useful, but would be helpful to the present debates over what the Constitution is supposed to mean to actually have read the notes of the man who wrote them down!

I find it amazing that so many of the comments posted here talk about "those Republicans" or "those Democrats" or "those women." I find that discusting - and yes, I'm including Ann Coulter's comments in this as well. We are all individuals and all have brains. What I also find amazing about Ms. Coulter's comment is that she seems to be forgetting that she is a woman (ignoring all of the rude posted comments saying otherwis), and she's a Republican. Interesting that she makes a blanket statement that all women vote Democratic. Hmmm. I find most of her comments this banal.

I cannot believe that even you would go this far!!! I know you were dropped on your head several times as a child. After all, that's the only reason I can think of that you would actually believe the things that come out of your own mouth. But, this one takes the cake. God forbid that we, I don't know, educate ourselves about a person and their ideas before we pass judgement about them. That would be why so many of us have decided that it is better to live in a land where everyone has their own right to personal liberty and personal identity. That would be as opposed to living in George Bush's Fantasy Land where losing a war is winning a war, its' okay to chastize and ostracize people who don't agree with you (even if they are fighting your illegal losing war) and it's perfectly fine to deny medical coverage to millions of children because the people who put forth the bill try to tell you the truth. And, apparently, women have no right to opinion, speech, education or anything else. Keep talking, Ann. The more you say, the more people realize what a complete moron you are and return to the good side.

Remember when the thought of having women vote might be considered banal? Remember when saying something shocking was left to the likes of Michael Moore? Remember when people used to think conservatives didn't have a voice? Regardless of what you think of Ms. Coulter, she has given some teeth to the conservative movement. And, regardless of who's in the White House in '08, I'll have someone I can count on to make me laugh and tell the truth to the masses in an in-your-face kind of way. For those that don't get it, which many here obviously don't, Ann wishes to make points that are glaringly hypocritical to the Dems! They'll talk about being pro-choice and about freedom of speech... until they hear something they don't like, like Ann Coulter. HYPOCRITES all of you, Dems/liberals!!!!!! "Liberal" used to mean "freedom of speech," what happened?!? If this country were left to you liberals we'd all be saluting the Nazi flag. How, in the name of all that makes sense, do you liken Republicans to that which is Nazi-esque!? It was the Nazis that wanted to exterminate based upon what certain people thought, felt, and/or their heritage. You liberals HATE anything to do with white Christian men... ala Nazi!!!! HYPOCRITES all of you! And, when it comes to taking Ann as literal as you are... grow up!!! You're actually helping to SUPPORT the claims made her by Ann, making them seem like a good idea!!!

Anonymous said...

Personally, by definition, I only acknowledge people with any intellectual capacity to be conservatives. Liberals CANNOT possibly use their brain to think, because their heart is getting in the way (that or other parts of their anatomy! Where is Clinton these days?!?)

I heard a saying when I was young that I'm now beginning to appreciate more and more (paraphrased): When someone is young and they're not a liberal, they have no heart; if, when that same someone grows older they have not become conservative, they have no brain! The implication here is that liberals are immature... so, GROW UP!!!!!

Hollywood doesn't have the collective brain power to self-regulate the behavior of a head of lettuce, yet they speak about serious matters as though we should listen.

As far as ANY war goes, who likes war? It's absolutely asinine to think that Bush is sending our men and women over to Iraq because of oil, of all things. If this Bush's objective was all about the oil, why doesn't he sell some of his own stash to the American public?!? THAT would be conflict of interest!!! How does going to Iraq to fight a war that costs this country BILLIONS of dollars help Bush directly or even indirectly. Obviously there are those that wish to see conspiracies where there just aren't any!

Maybe... just maybe, Ann's on to something here. By the sounds of it, there only seems to be evidence in support of that which she is suggesting. The only thing is that I'd open up the whole liberal camp in preventing them from voting - not just women.

Ann is REFRESHINGLY unPolitically Correct! I have often found myself thinking and believing many of the things she just comes out and says, but as a white man I'm really not at liberty to exercise my freedom of speech without having the ACLU, the NAACP, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the entire women's movement against me! So much for liberals being FOR the freedom of speech!!!?!

Anonymous said...

By FREEDOM OF SPEECH, liberals mean to think like them: being intolerant to anyone who's views are different than yours... all in the name of tolerance. ONLY to a liberal does tolerance mean intolerance to some! (How DOES one spell "hypocrite"? Oh, I know: L I B E R A L)

By FREEDOM OF SPEECH, liberals mean to think of all people as godless - having no moral backbone other than what they collectively think is moral at the moment. Which should be scary for sure, being that the liberal leaders of this country are the likes of Teddy Drunkennedy and Bill Clinton!

Neither party is full of saints, and to be sure I am NOT a Republican, but I AM a conservative. However, today's conservatives actually believe in letting EVERYONE speak their mind, regardless of how ridiculous they shound; i.e., anyone within the women's movement, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Hillary Clinton, Dick Durbin, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, etc. How could ANYONE with any level of cerebral activity take any one of these nuckleheads seriously?!? Today's liberals are nothing more than yesterday's socialists/communists. And while McCarthy went over the line, he was at least zealously aiming to protect his country from within, something no one is doing now all in the name of not trying to be called "McCarthy." Liberals have used the McCarthyisms to the point of ad nauseum, all while their doing EXACTLY what McCarthy was talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, conservatives DO have a heart - contrary to popular belief! However, we don't believe in shelfing our brain at the door for the sake of that which moves us! For instance: health care... it is NOT a Constitutional Right! However, it isn't against the law to pay for one's own health care... just stop expecting the government to run the system and pay for it! Where would entitlements end if we allow health care.

You see, people like Ann serve a purpose in the dialogue among the body politic. (And, for you libs over-obsessed with barometers for measuring your own intelligence against other more sane/rational minds, to the best of my knowledge, there have been no grammatical errors within this e-mail!)

We have no business trying to repeal anything our country has been based on like the Constitution, or Bill of Rights, if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.At it's worsr America is still the best place in the world to live,if you find a better place you have our permission to move.

That is a great idea, but Ann, I already thought about it,sorry. Our founding Fathers did not give women the right to vote because they thought women would inevitably become "like" men in nature (evil thoughts and behavior).
Well, if they were not right on the money I don't know what you call this world. Women are dangerous, killing babies, shooting their husbands in the back, collecting little fetus' and the list goes on and on! Who ever thought women should vote anyway, just look at our country now that women vote!

Repeal the 19th Amendment! It's not even constitutional in the first place, as all "MEN" are created equal!
What, you don't think the Founding Fathers knew how to spell WOMAN, Idiots! If the Constitution were written to include women it would have sais clearly "All MEN and WOMEN are created equal." Oh, and taxes are illegal as well.

Paul Jacobus said...

Ann Coulter is really not the issue here. She demonstrates her ignorance every time she speaks and this comment is just the latest in a string of absurd statments that she has made. What is the issue, in my opinion, is that people like her actually get attention from the media. Based on this current comment alone, the media should consider her irrelavant (which she is). She is obviously confused beyond all hope and does not deserve the attention she gets. Let's ask for more from the media. Let's ask to hear from intelligent, clear thinking people (from both sides). Let's hear from intelligent people like John Edwards, or even someone from the Republican side. I'm sure if the media looked hard enough, they could find a Republican who is a clear thinker.

22+1 WAYS TO BE MYSELF (the only category I care to be in)

[a.k.a., a dose of reality to joe's blithe generalizations]

0. Register to vote as "non-affiliated". Vote my conscience and beliefs. Speak my mind.

1. I feel our judicial system is not perfect enough to be 100% sure that we have the right offender to met out the irreversible punishment. The system killing one innocent and impacting their family and loved ones for the rest of THEIR lives is one (really, many) too many.

I think, "What if it was me? What if I got caught up in the system somehow: mistaken identity ... wife drops dead ... someone says I touched them ... whatever. Or what if it was my children? They have to die and I have to live without them because of a man-made system? Forget it!" Now THERE's a 'what if'!

Don't any of you think about that? It's always happening to someone. Think you are immune? I can't support a system that may backfire on me someday.

And I think it a sign of human arrogance to think our system is so perfect we can dare to bring the final solution to anyone. I feel keeping probable offenders confined to protect the rest of us and to restrict their freedoms (until they die, if not disproven) is good enough.

Abortion is tougher to reconcile and depends entirely upon when and whether one considers a potential life to be an entity with rights or just a part of the mother until viable or out.

Since there are no good solutions here, I choose to err on the side of freedom for the one in the pair who clearly has rights ... I think taking away her rights to her own body is worse, until the entity can live without her.

But I'm not a woman, so what do I know? I guess, according to Ann, that means I'll vote Republican. he he

2. (most) Businesses exist to make money and have no obligation to serve the people/society.

When we expect business to serve a basic need of the people, or to not play keep-away with it, then we pit greed against altruism, and we have already seen which usually wins in the human nature of the executive class. The CEOs/boards who set CEO compensation as a % of the lowest paid employee can be an exception to this.

The basic difference I see between conservatives(R) and liberals(D) is the answer to the Biblical question: "Am I my brother's keeper?" What was the Bible's answer?

Regardless, it appears to me that basically libs answer "yes" and cons answer "no" ... at least until you are talking about their ACTUAL family member ... THEN, it's "yes!"

OR, back on #1, if an innocent accused-killer dies, cons are still not their brother's keeper, but if some woman somewhere wants to terminate a pregnancy, THEN cons are suddenly their "sister's" keeper and want to tell them what to do.

Libs appear to have a much broader definition of "brother" pretty consistently. Libs tend to think that's good, cons tend to think that's bad. To each his/her own.

I say, if you don't want to be anyone's keeper, then leave the pregnant women alone, mind your own business (like you want the rest of us to do for you), and make your own decisions about it when it happens in your family.

Back to #2, do you idealize government as a place to serve society (brother's keeper = yes), or a necessary evil that should leave you alone (brother's keeper = no)?

Governments don't create prosperity, but where else can we pool our money together to provide society with things it needs or wants as a general group? Not business, because it will just end up in a CEO's pocket.

As it stands, some still ends up in a representative's pocket, but at least we can try. Of course, this will produce some things some people don't want ... you don't want to fund social programs; I don't want so much of our military far away, getting killed, and taking funding ... sorry, enough of us wanted either to indirectly vote for it.

If you don't want to pay your share, your can't be part of the society ... sorry again. Found your own country.

3. I can't do anything about China and North Korea, but I can speak my mind on guns. The Constitution says you can have them, so have fun, but don't complain about what it takes to prove you are law-abiding, and that you're not about to shoot your lover, before you get it.

I think society has the right to say that you have to keep it locked up so your kid doesn't kill my kid if you won't stay safe, no matter how law-abiding.

Otherwise, enjoy your right ... I just think it's an accident or emotional outburst waiting to happen, and I don't want me or my family or other innocents in the crossfire.

4. Art: See #2 about society providing something more than only "needs" for the greater good. I see the potential for art (not all art) as a cultural contribution.

Sometimes it may be excessive, but never take away the only media that is not 100% controlled by greed (business and advertising) ... keep the media that are supported with $ from all of us. I want my PBS and NPR!

5. I don't have a degree in global warming or access to all the data. I just know that some scientists say "yes" and others say "no" and the libs say one kind of scientist is right and the cons say the opposite.

Regardless, our fossil fuels are limited and the exhaust and waste can't be GOOD for the air we all breathe and the ecosystem we all share. So why NOT use our technology so we can all get around in cars the size we need AND have less negative impact on our planet ... c'mon, we're smart people!

That sounds like common good to me, and who opposes it: business. Why: money/greed is the only logical answer.

BTW, I see that argument used a lot, esp. here: "We can't solve the whole thing so let's not do anything." To whom does that make sense?

6. I believe each gender should be raised to believe they can be anything they want. And if you've never been a homosexual, how do you know it's NOT natural?

See also #2: If you don't want to be anyone's keeper, leave the gays alone, too.

7. Finding a cure for AIDS is not in the common interest? You didn't catch it in your dentist's office or from your hetero partner back in the day? Lucky!

Healthcare workers are constantly in jeopardy, and I'm at risk as a first-responder. I don't know the problem here, but I'm not immediately opposed to the concept of curing AIDS. Conservatives are?

8. Fourth graders should already know how to read, and a teacher can't effectively teach a kid who's parents didn't care enough to teach them at home and still don't care they are undisciplined now.

I had CONSERVATIVE parents who NEVER talked to me about sex because they were apparently too uncomfortable. I had to learn in the 6th grade classroom (boy, was I shocked that sex required nudity! I thought it all happened by kissing!). I guess teaching it in school helps no one. So much for conservative effectiveness there.

9. I have no issue with outdoorsmen (and women). Just shoot the things we have too much of and not the things that are almost gone. And refer to #3 about shooting my family (and others Mr. Cheney). I don't live in San Francisco, but I almost left my heart there once.

10. You can earn esteem from others but how can you earn it from yourself if you're not already giving it to yourself?

11. Mel Gibson spent his own money to make a movie about something he believes in. I respect him for that. I do not respect him for saying someone else's religion is wrong because he feels differently (he can still say it but expect a backlash).

12. The NRA supports your "right" to own automatic weapons. The framers never envisioned that. Who hunts with an Uzi or an AK-47? They are just mass killing machines with no other use that endanger everyone else; in 1 sec, 5 ppl are dead instead of 1.

I may want my military to have them but not you or me at home. Why can't y'all be happy with your guns from #3 and show some restraint for the sake of public safety? Without that, I'd have no issue.

I don't deal with the ACLU but I understand they support my right not to be subjected to religious practices that are not mine on public property in our separation of church & state country.

I only see one class of religion trying to impose their practices on others, or trying to perform them in public school without equal opportunity. Nobody stops you from doing what you want at home and religious place and other private events and property, and nobody ends up dead at the post office. What's the big deal?

13. I pay my share of taxes without complaint. Do you? It would be easier if we all just paid 10% and be done with it, but I'll play the game if that's the way it is. Want a rebate: work for the government and you get more back! Even better, now I have "ATM Freedom" from Susquehanna Bank! :)

14. I think I've heard of Gloria Steinem somewhere.

15. I think it is silly to assume that different cultures, or even different children, all learn the same way and retain the same things to call any education or test "standardized". But I also refer to #8 regarding parents who don't care and I think that disproportionately affects the numbers.

And I am generally against the idea of quotas but, statistically, the distribution of race hired in a given area should match the applicant pool. If the difference is significant, someone's probably not playing fair and has to be forced to do so.

16. I didn't know you knew Hillary Clinton personally! IS she a very nice person? I wouldn't know.

17. I believe that PURE capitalism is a form of economy that only succeeds when it's going up (which can't be forever) AND it gives people permission to answer "no" to the Biblical question in #2 (disabled + no savings + no family = too bad for you and Thank God it's not me). I believe that PURE communism is "1984."

Ann has her pipe dream and I have mine: We pool a share of all our money into the government (called taxes) and they use that money to provide the basic needs of life to everyone we share this country with (including ourselves): basic healthcare, shelter, utilities, food, clothing, etc. Just low-level, cookie cutter, same color basics. Want anything more, get a job! Nobody dies/suffers just because they don't make enough or can't work, no excuse to be homeless or frozen or hungry or steal for survival reasons (this segregates the others who steal for more). PIPE DREAM!

Wasn't it Jesus who basically said that we are being judged based on how we treat the least fortunate among us? Yet those who most quote the Bible cringe the most at the idea of "we the people" using their money to support people in some way.

And who's bright idea was it to leave health-related decisions and our ability to obtain affordable healthcare in the hands of people who are out to make money from us? Shouldn't "we the people" provide this for all of ourselves as a people? We're helping ourselves AND loving thy neighbor; where's the problem?

Here's a message for you: Who created you and allowed you to have enough money to complain about it being taken away? Who created the guy who can't get enough to live as comfortable as you. HE says, "Treat him right." The money was never "yours," He's letting you borrow it. So SHARE it already or you'll have Him to answer to. Don't worry, if you share, He'll make sure you get back what you need.

18. By "conservatives telling the truth" do you mean giving away the identities of our spies? And conservatives have never had affairs in the office ... I guess THOSE men are all Dems? Funny.

Monica was over 18 and if Republicans hadn't paid/pushed that woman into breaking the (wiretapping) law to be a liar/spy to get it on tape, we never would have known and what would the big impact have been on our country?

Instead, the Republicans dragged us all down this O.J. Simpson-esque experience for purely political reasons when they should have been working.

This is what turned me off to the Republican party when I was still neutral. Should he have cheated on his wife and had sex in the office: no. Do I care: not really; he got caught, let his wife handle it. If it was anyone else, would it have been on TV or had any real punishment: no.

Did I want our reps spending all this time and money we gave them to publicly prosecute a private matter and make a big high-5 show, instead of using that time & money for legislation: NO!

The Repubs wasted oodles of ALL of our time on this, disgusted me with the witch-hunt, and completely disgraced themselves in my eyes. I hope the Dems would never do the same if the tables were turned (but they might and I'm still non-affiliated).

Then Clinton balanced the budget (as I do mine), and Bush II blew that away. Makes my decision easy.

19. Homosexual parades are legal with permit. Christmas parades are legal with permit. Manger scenes on a church lawn are legal. Manger scenes and Seder scenes and bowing-towards-Mecca scenes at the public school or courthouse violate separation of church and state. Is that too hard to follow? If you want a country with one official religion, they are still around (but this one hasn't been one since ~1776). Go.

20. Political funding from the Chinese or any other government is wrong. And unlimited campaign contributions from entities that only represent a few rich people but employ 1,000s who may not all agree with them, using the money from consumers who may not all agree with them, is also wrong. Go McCain! As for me, only personal campaign contributions are OK.

21. I think the previous TOP 22 list is a difference of opinion, but it was not stated as such; it was stated much more righteously and with no desire to actually understand how the object of his distaste may be thinking as one "created equal."

Unfortunately, I have seen this characteristic in nearly every conservative I have met. I can now usually pick out the conservatives based on this characteristic.

And I've seen enough between Nixon (of course) and Bush II (forcing us to restart Daddy's war based on 9-11) to not put anything past the Republicans.

22. Say what you want on Christmas Day: Happy Christmas or Humbug! Just be prepared to hear what others have to say about your inability to think outside yourself when you say it to a non-Christian. It's officially a secular holiday now (sorry).
---------------------------
Final Notes:
I find it interesting observing Republicans backpedaling, or even turning liberal, on a certain issue when it directly impacts them/their family ("gays are bad except my daughter", "I'll set your taxes but I won't declare my nanny", "we'll impeach the Prez for an affair but I can't become Speaker because I had one, too").

If they asked themselves "what if it was me" sooner, they might have come down off their high horses before they were taken down.

I see Dems doing bad things too, but not much of having to reverse their ideology because of personal circumstances, nor gloating at a Repub's downfall. I respect that.

In summary, it appears to me that libs tend to be more open (extreme = anything goes for everyone and don't ever restrict that) and cons tend to be more closed (extreme = everyone should be/think like me and nothing should ever change from the "old days"). I am not extreme but I lean on the side that I see gives me more freedom, and I don't mind sharing a % of what I have to help the less fortunate or support the common good.

And I'm going to vote whether you like it or not.

Oh, I apologize; we didn't want to have a thinking conversation here, did we? Just trading barbs, right? Sorry! Let me get back to that:

Umm, lemme see ... ah, to a previous, righteous poster: "knucklehead" is spelled with a "k".

And this is exactly why the rest of the world gets bored of "America". Only two sad choices to choose from. Only two sides in politics... such a divided country and what a circus!

Anonymous said...

Ann, like that is going to happen?! IT SHOULD - BUT! I have often thought this and I have run for political office! Ann has a very keen insight here and I believe is accurate in this statement! You can say what you will but she's the one with the best selling books and popularity, and that is why, her keen insight.
We men may think with our 'main brains' but what do women think with, there emotions! At least men are much more steady with there emotions and not 'cyclical'. That is the plain and simple of it. Thank You Ann Coulter!!!

As a single male I fully agree with Ann; because I have thought for a long time that women don't have a good sense of judgement. I love all women - bless them all. Women do have a good sense of reason, but they are guided mostly by their emotions; and that's not good politics.

Troy said...

I bet most of these women posting their lame comments belittling conservatives' intelligence or how Ann looks -most liberals bash on the little they can find against conservatives, which is merely appearance or physical defects... as I was saying, most of these women probably didn't have any idea of what the 19th ammendment said to begin with, until Ann brought it up!

No grammar or spelling errors either in this post! ;)

To those people who write how liberals cannot take Ann's jokes (like this one), I say: she's not joking. Coulter REALLY believes these insane things that spew from her mouth. At least she does at the time she says them, which is usually minutes before her meds have kicked in. She's an emotionally unstable individual who should be considered the deranged poster child for these last7 years of Republican insanity. In other words, Coulter really is the Shrub, Cheney, Gonzales, Libby, Rove, Rumsfeld, John McCain, Condi Rice, the Supreme Court and Tony Snow wrapped up into one neat, little package. Now Ann, be good and don't fight those men with the white coats who are coming down the hall - they're here to help you....

The liberal response to this article reminds me of the old joke: Q: "How many lesbians does it take to change a lightbulb? A: "Only one and that's NOT funny!"

While Ann is of course joking, it is a scary and very real prospect that women voters might one day elect a President George Clooney or a Senator Brad Pitt.

In 1996 over 60% of the women voted for Clinton because he looked good. That sure sounds like a very educated way to choose a president.

Thank goodness there are people like Ann that can bring up things without worrying about the reactions of the ignorant ones. Many good Americans don't have the courage or time to do that. She says things that need to be said and then discussed, not silenced as many of the uneducated would like.
As the way things are going, this country's culture and way of life is doomed...
From all of us good folks, keep up the good work Ann!

Ahh, the lovely sinking of the dems to terse name-calling. It's something I can always count on. Thankfully, being called a neo-Nazi has never seemed to bother Ann Coulter. Perhaps those who use the term Nazi when dealing with Republicans should actually take the time and look up the meaning. The last time I checked, we've nothing in common with Hitler.

The very fact that this silly comment of Ann's is drawing so much attention merely proves that dems are running out of ideas and criticisms concerning the GOP. Sheesh, to pick apart one flaw in one woman is just ridiculous. Especially considering women have the vote and I doubt they're going to willingly hand it back, no matter who says they should do so. Now maybe if Bill Clinton suggested it . . .

Right again Ann. Voting for "what makes me feel good about me" has begun the beginning of the end for this country.
She needs to follow up with the "mindless black vote." They clearly can`t handle their voting responsibilities.
Hillary has devoted her life to destroying the character of our country. She could only win with the mindless woman and black vote.
How pathetic it has gotten.
It will get much worse!

What happened to one nation under God.
A lot of people speak of God almost as a reason to steal the rights of their fellow citizen.
Shame on you.
So when you go to church and you put your children in the church's day care area and then buy a latte',some clothes, books and Cd's from the churches stores inside the complex.

And if you are a white male making more than $150,000 a year and you vote Republican, you are voting against the best interest of humanity.
But it doesn't matter how you vote if people are allowed to fix the election, while other people who know that the election was fixed, do nothing! The penalty for fixing elections and helping to fix elections should be permanent exile from the United States! They can always go to work at some American corp. that's been outsourcing our jobs....

AAAMMEENNN steve in baltimore. Couldn't have said it better myself. I am myself "independant" and have also "leaned" away from the Republican ideology. Unfortunately this "blog" shows that to many "liberals"(like the "conservative" posters) can aso end up writing at the lowest common denominator which is name calling and uninformed brainwashed "talking point". One of the reason I'm harder on "conserv. Republicans" is EXACTLY because they tend to "try" and come from a "righteous" "religious"(Christian)position. As a Christian I find it interesting that most conservs will degrade, bemoan, and name call those that do not see Christianity "there way"....yet I see no example of this in Jesus's teaching. When he did get mad and a little "name calling" was to wealthy religious leaders that demanded everyone else live by the law that they did not themselves follow(sound familiar)..AND corupt "national" political leaders that liked to "be" jewish oriented but did not want to live by their ideals(sound familiar) As I often point out to conservative "Christians"(which they are often appouled by BUT can NOT disprove) is that Christ preached and lived non-violence, lived with and cared for the poor and sick, opposed politically based corruption by tax collectors, taught it was better to act and be humble than brazen and "all that"(most conservative talking heads), talked more about the danger and "hell bound" potential for the rich(e.g. rich young ruler and lazarus and the rich name, cant serve money and god etc.) and here is the BIG kicker....If you read ACTS 4 and 5 it CLEARLY dictates a socialist/communist system for living in a "Christian" community. NOT only THAT..but it is the only place where the "holy spirit" is DIRECTLY involved in dealing with those that tried to "hide" or "keep" some property they where putting into the community hopers...thats right the HS KILLED them. The 6 billion pound gorilla in the room of those advocating "christian" support for "Capitalism". Communism does not work unless it is within a deeply religious and commited Christian "community" (e.g. Amish or Hutterits who have lived in shared communes for 400 years). this is exactly why this is NOT, Never WAS and NEVER will be a "Christian" nation...selfishness and greed have "nutered" the Christian message.By the way this is also why there is a growing decline in Christian "observance and why things like abortion exist. Abortion and lose of "prayer in school" is not the CAUSE of religious degredation but the EFFECT of our greed, materialsim and our own subconscience unadmitted "we have industry and technology and want for nothing and therefore do not NEED god" frame of mind. Funny that Christianity grows fastest in the most oppressed and poorest countries and dies in the wealthiest and most materialist countries. Laise-faire capitalism WILL be our downfall. To few Rih and a growing middle to lower class is the direction statistics clearly say we are headed. Lets see where else this came to a head. Elsalvador/Nicaragua, present day Venezualia, Czarist Russia by the communists, French revolution, British empire, Roman empire etc. etc. Neither party is perfect but unless we are will to talk civily about our diferences we will continue to "controled" by the politicians. (sorry I didn't take time for spelling)

I am not for taking away the vote from those of my gender, and I doubt Ann Coulter is either. She is exaggerating to make a point.
A huge number of women don't think logically about a candidate, they go on feelings. I remember my neighbor voting for Clinton because he was so "handsome and charismatic". THAT we can do away with.
As a nation, we have shot ourselves in the foot with out educational system. Most kids don't study American history and civics from the same perspective as previous generations. We don't have kids reading the newspaper and watching the news for homework anymore. They are not taught about the foundations of our country, how to analyze a candidate's platform, how to think logically in order to make rational choices. Then you end up with people who vote for a candidate base on looks or based on personal gain rather than what's good for the country.
Vote Republican or Democrat- I don't care, but be educated on the choices!

Ann Coulter is smarter than I could hope to be, nor could any of these detractors who don't understand hyperbole to make a point. The truth of her statement is bourne out by those who say Hillary will be elected by single white women who don't understand the dire danger of Hillary's socialist beliefs. I shudder to think of her as president. Kudos to Joe and shame on Steve. His rant didn't even make sense! The world is getting worse daily and it's not the fault of Geo. W. Bush as the dems and their eager cohorts in the media try to convince the sheep who believe them. 9/11 was brought on to a large extent by "slick Willie" Clinton and his failure to act to ensure our safety. He was too busy getting payoffs from the Chinese in exchange for our military secrets to take actions to show the terrorists that that we wouldn't roll over and play dead for them. If Hillary should be elected, we stand a good chance of being dead or at least in terrible shape. The dems in congress are so worried about their staying in power, that they say terrible, untrue things about our president and our troops and too many people fall for it because they haven't the intelligence to understand the truth and they want the government to give them a free ride for everything. It's Ok to be obscene but not to be a Christian. It's great and intellectual to express art by throwing dung on the Virgin Mary or hang a cross in urine, but horrific to display a manger scene or even a Santa Claus, not to mention the insulting wish of "Merry Christmas". Oh, dear. I just realized that many of the sheep who might have read this far will not recognize the sarcasm in my last statements.

"However, today's conservatives actually believe in letting EVERYONE speak their mind, regardless of how ridiculous they shound"

"nuckleheads" begins with K, knucklehead.

"Where would entitlements end if we allow health care."

First, that should have a QUESTION MARK at the end, not a PERIOD.

Second, where would entitlements end? How about free public education for ALL children? Oh, wait, we have that. How about a standard minimum wage a person living by themselves can actually pay all their bills with and still have at least a LITTLE BIT left over? Oh, wait, all those fiscally responsible conservatives keep voting aginast that.

But back to the grammatical errors that aren't in your message...

Looks like you missed some. Along with several things you like to THINK are so, that just aren't.

Oh well. Nobody's perfect.

Steve didn't make sense?I think this shows just how brainwashed either side can become. He makes more sense than Joanne wants to admit. It was also well stated, argued and steve at least showed humility in areas he was not sure of or knows is not a black and white issue. I will keep from expressing my true thoughts about Joanne as the one post is right in that name calling and fanatasicm on either side does not help advance the conversation. Joanne shows the lack of understanding a COMPLETE historic presidence to our troubles. First, we are NOT being attacked because muslims are envious of our freedom and system. While I may disagree with the religions point of view...it is generally accepted that a hierarchy (government = religion = state) is part of the state so to force our version of "democracy" does not mess with their ideology for many if not most "arabs". Second, why aren't they avid about attacking Canada or Japan or other non u.s. /europian first world countries. Answer, they have not been up "in their business" for the last 40 years. We, along with British secret service, overthrew Mosadek(he was actually one of the first that started democratic reform) in Iran in the 50's-CLEARLY over oil -he didn't like BP's price for oil and asked for a "fair" price..how terrible. We support the Saudi Royal family even though that country supports and funds terrorists(9/11 attackers)morethan any other and whose human rights make Saddam look like Gandi. But we don't attack them--it might disrupt our cheap oil. That makes us the biggest hypocrits in the world. If Sadam was so bad, why did we, not only support him for years, but gave him chemical technology he used on his own people--as we looked the other way--hypocracy. Add to these examples, hundreds others all for the sake of us having cheap oil(heaven forbid we actually use free market ideals for dealing with other countries) and one has to ask themselves why we didn't get hit earlier. Figure into the equation Britains subjegation and abuse of many of these countries for many years and you cant help but ask how much is our own doing. jesus taught us to take the log out of our own eyes and be ready to repent of OUR sins before we point at others. Why are so many conservatives afraid to pull the sycoia out of our past(eye) and ready to make things right or at least admit we have copability with the problem of terrorism. Hypocrits. I was taught that if I dont have something that I need, to pay for it at the price the market asks. AND, if I want MORE than I NEED, I either pay for more or do without if I don't want to pay the asking price. Funny how we can agree on this basic principle for dealing with our personal neighbors but when it comes to our collective existence we look the other way when our government deals unfairly or forcible coerces other country in order to keep our standard of living!!!! What hypocrits we all are!!!!!!!!!

Liberals CAN be "intolerant" of those that disagree with the "party line". Exactly HOW is this different from Conservatives? While I can see and admit to liberals hypocracy I at least give them credit for having the great amount of races and ideologies that seem to line of with that phylosophy. There is STILL a majority of the following groups that support liberal ideals as represented in the Democratic party: single women, poor, Blacks, Jews, hispanics, gays, etc. Who is the one group that consistently hold the majority for conservative Republicans...White, Anglo-saxson, wealthy, "so called practicing" Christian males!! I admit that given the Dems argue to be more inclussive it is more hypocritical when they downplay a segment but at least most can be heard. Dobson and his remnants of "moral majority" supports just came out and said, If Guliani is the nomination they will look for a third party option. If that is not "our way or the highway" intolerant bullying...I don't know what is! Stop taking about the libs "few" examples of intolerance given Conservatives consistent hard line ideology isolation!!!!

We had a case in our area where a group fought to have a manger scene on public grounds. The county relented when it looked like no one was going to object and to fight this group would cost money. A couple weeks later a teacher wanted to explore the Mormon traditions of Christmas with her class. The same group that wanted the manger scene had a fit and threatened legal action if the teacher did not relent. Saying Merry Christmas is not the problem and in all but a few areas is it illegal or improper. BUT the example above shows the exact reason why we seperate Church and State. YOUR expression of faith in government forums is ok, but THEIR expression is offensive. Who decides which faith, which denomination, which traditions, even whose conference of a denomination is acceptable. I hate to think what NARROW faith ideology Ann Coulter would "allow" to be expressed in school or government. You have a church and 99.9% of public places to say Merry Christmas....be happy!!!

How's that for moral backbone. I'm neither Republican or Democrat, or a liberal, not much of a conservative either. With such sterling examples why would I want to be a Republican.Don't worry I don't think much of the Democrats either, Ann Coulter as crazy as she is could take a little further and abolish all political parties.

What a GREAT idea! Thanks Ann.

The democrats are trying to take us down the road of socialism... Wake up America!

Who pays for hillary care...it aint free.... it is you the taxpayer. You want more of your hard earned money going to the government???

I am amazed at the comments made by both sides. Troy, the conservative, says that he has no errors in his post. He might check on the difference between a hyphen and a dash.

I consider myself a moderate, however, can't understand when people say you're not Christian because you believe a certain way.
(Ms. Coulter's comment) I also can't understand how people believe that the current administration has done a good job. As I was going thru the LBJ library recently, I wondered about what presidential papers the current administration would have. This has been the most secretive administration we have had in modern times.

I also am curious why people consider John Edwards a certain sexual orientation. I would like to see their reasons for this.

We need to stop name calling on both sides and work together to make our country a better place. One of the ways to do this would be to not vote a straight ticket.
Vote for the person and NOT the party.

God bless the USA!

Pete, Other countries have Socialized health care that works. Granted they have problems, but are they any worse than cost increases double inflation and having 40+ million uninsured here. If I have to give more to help those that cant get it, so be it. True, some will abuse it but most that dont have insurance are those with preexisting conditions, laid off, minimum wage earners etc. You want to pay for it, well heres an idea. Corporate "wealthfare" costs by conservative estimates FOUR TIMES the money of all welfare programs combined and this amount goes about 70% to the top 1%. Lets take away part of that. You know, stop allowing corporations to set up shop in the camen Islands to get around taxes, take away tax breaks at local levels that entice companies to move there from some other area in America that also needs the jobs but dont want to give up the tax benefits to the community(this is paramount to extortion), take away tax loopholes that make most wealthy tax returns make Enron accountant look like amatures. I could go on and on. Heres an idea...STOP GETTING INVOLVED in unnesessary wars that after all costs including health costs to wounded soldiers are conservatively estimated to cost over 2 TRRRIIILLLIIIOOOONNNN DOLARS. Why are so called conservatives so "wwoorrieedd" about asking the wealthiest to put in a little more given they have 1000's of times more money than they need. If the wealthiest are going to stop supporting the economy because they can only buy 20 mansions instead of 25 with their money(much of which is gained in questionable practices)...well may be it is time this country is destroyed by god. Jer. 5:27 Like a cage full of birds so thier houses full of loot. They have grown rich and powerfull they are fat and sleek. In wickedness they go to any lengths, they have no respect for rights. For orphans rights and yet they suceed. They have not upheld the cause of the needy. SHALL I NOT PUNISH THIS. SHALL I NOT EXACT VENGENCE ON A NATION SUCH AS THIS?

Ann is a brilliant woman with a lot of good ideas. She uses a lot of humor and sarcasm in her comments, and likes to shock people with off-the-wall statements. Liberals truly have no sense of humor ... sad but true. They'll jump all over her for a satirical statement like this, and when they can't find one next month, they'll misquote her as they so often have (like supposedly calling John Edwards a faggot).

'Ann is a brilliant woman with a lot of good ideas. She uses a lot of humor and sarcasm in her comments, and likes to shock people with off-the-wall statements."

This only serves to make the divide in America larger and keeps honest discussion from happening. This blog is prime example, look at the degrading "name calling" that gets us no where but angrier and even more unwilling to honestly listen to other opinions. If this where a "liberal" saterist like Franken I'm sure there would be plenty of conservs with their panties in a bunch. This way of "getting a point across" is not useful from either side. Stop excusing her immature rantingings as servingany purpose other than dividing.

Good grief, people! Loosen up and get a sense of humor... Ann makes her point wonderfully by the number of people that can't seem to catch it. As a woman, I'm not afraid to say that too many of us are either uninformed or afraid to speak up. You go, girl!

There is no way this is the complete reason. Just as she didnt really call Edwards a Faggot like this blogger says. I havent looked up the full comment, but I am pretty damn sure she was jokin.

Anne Coulter is a transvestite. He/She gives head for book deals in Washington DC bathroom stalls to aging, republican, gay-bashing pedophiles. She swallows too, which is why her skin is so damned shiny.

"Liberalism is a Mental Disorder"
Her statement was tongue and check,

comments here prove the first quote.

Anne Coulter is a whore, in the truest sense of the word. Anyone who takes her seriously really isn't paying attention.

Well, should women also be barefoot & knocked up, Ann? If you can't think of an intelligent thought, just state an asinine statement. Now, you will be back on all the TV news stations.

Did Ann Coulter use to date Bob Guccione's son? Bob Guccione Who owned Penthouse Magazine.

Now that we are on the subject of who should be allowed vote. Let's take it a little further as to the responsibility of those we vote for and the "unbiased" media. All we hear is mud slinging by the candidates. Why don't they tell us why they want to be elected and why America would benefit from voting for them. All I've heard in many years is why we should not vote for their opponent. I fear this is because none of them have anything to offer and only want power. The intended President for this generation was probably aborted in the 60's or 70's.
As for the news media let's get back to reporting the truth. The truth is neither good or bad, right or wrong ,nor for or against it is simple the truth.
Commentaries are great, but let's not confuse it with news. If any grammatical errors are found blame spell check. After all it's always someone else fault. [Last statement was sarcasm for those of you that do not recognize it.]

Ann would be a whore if anybody would stoop so low as to do her. But it's pretty obvious to most that she has a disease you wouldn't want to catch.

Stop taking about the libs "few" examples of intolerance given Conservatives consistent hard line ideology isolation!!!!"
------------------------------
Exactly. The conservatives consistently put down liberals who DO want to include anyone and everyone, even including those same conservatives. The ones who do NOT WANT TO INCLUDE anyone who disagrees with them in any way.

No grammar or spelling errors either in this post! ;)"

And YOU did? Why do I doubt it?

No, just very glaring errors in judgement.

All she does is stir up controversy, because she thrives on attention, and knows that no matter how crazy the bullshit that spews from her mouth is (i.e., "Repeal the 19th Amendment", "Everyone in America should be Christian", etc.), she will never lose her core fan base... the right-wing jackasses who will forever take her filth with a shit-eating grin.

Does anyone really care what she says? If she had her way SHE would not be able to vote. She seems smart but just comes off as a bully sometimes.

Ann Coulter: Reactionary.

That's not name-calling. That's a FACT.

re·ac·tion·ar·y (rē-āk'shə-něr'ē)
adj. Characterized by reaction, especially opposition to progress or liberalism; extremely conservative.
